Yeah, and how do you know it is the HS talking to you, and not satan or one of his fallen angels talking to you? How can you tell who is who unless you have the word to show you?

Scripture does not support your theory. So I must decline to believe the HS talked to you. God would not contradict his word or himself!
I know it's God because my feelings are accustomed skill, as it says NT, which you refer! I know the voice of my Shepherd. Who wrote the word? Or who has inspired his writing? Is not God? No God does not contradict His Word! God simply contradicts your interpretation!

Let's cut to the chase, shall we ? How many blind people have you seen sight restored to ? How many lame now walk where you've personally witnessed the healing ? Any been raised from the dead in your presence ? Cancer patients, para's and quadrapalegics......how many healed in your town by being in the shadow path of one of your apostles ? Please....waist your time on a few of us pharisee's. Show us what we're missing. And provide some proof iffin' ya don't mind. Apostle's today would undoubtedly be doing like things to those of old, no ?
My friend, the signs that follow is not only to apostles but to ALL who believe. I see now you have no faith and maybe that is what is missing in your life. But those who believe do see the wonders of God. This is sad. You limit the Power of God to your own ideas. Jesus could do no wonders among his own people because of their unbelief.

The pope hears from God. so he says. So do many other people. They all get diiferent messages. How can we tell which ones speak from god and which does not?

Just because you say you hear from God. Does not mean it is God. You might believe its

If you contradict scripture. We know you do not hear from God. And scripture teaches the opposite of what you teach. So it can not be from God. Unless God contradicts himself.

If you don't hear from God you are none of his. No matter what people say, the Lord knows who is full of lies and who isn't.

Jesus said his sheep HEAR his voice and obey him, and they will not follow another. Anyone that wants to enter eternal life must enter through him and him alone. If you don't have ears to hear you are in the same area as the Pharisees and Sadducees, who having ears could not hear and having eyes could not see neither did they understand.

May Jesus bless you.

Who said I did not hear from God. I certainly did not. I just praise him every day he gave me his written word so i can know for a fact when it is him who is talking to me, And when it is satanic influence or my flesh talking to me.

My friend the witness of the Holy Spirit is the only witness that we are children of God. By the bible you cannot guarantee your salvation. Without the Holy Spirit bearing that witness, you only have bible knowledge and no revelation of Jesus Christ, as it is the Spirit of God that bears witness of the Truth. Without the Holy Spirit as witness, the word is not established. Now remember the three that bear witness in heaven and in earth. But then, you say the Word is something else.

May Jesus bless you.

Wow you can't? I guess Paul lied when he told Timothy he had knowledge from scripture to be saved when Timothy was a kid.

I guess John lied when he said "I write these things so you may KNOW YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE".

I guess the HS lied when he stated All scripture is breathed by him, and profitable for instruction in righteousness etc etc.

I guess our whole faiht based system is a lie.

I do. Tell me, What do i say the word is? Other than Christ himself. The bible from begining to end is ALL about Christ. It is why God had the HS inspire men to write down the words he wanted them to write.

Then again, I guess according to you God wasted 2000 and some odd years doing this.

It was written so that those who know may know they have eternal life indeed. But the writing did not give them eternal life. The writing didn't save them. If the law justified the Pharisees surely salvation would have been by the law. But it isn't.

In the same way the scripture cannot justify you. The Lord himself has to justify us. And we know that this is by the righteousness of faith. Faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

If you say that Jesus is the Word and that the bible is all about Jesus Christ, let us understand that it is in Christ we should live and move and have our being. Let us also obey Him. Let's glorify Him in all things, so that we will please the Father.

May Jesus bless you.

Why would it. The pharisees misinterpreted the law. Your reasoning makes no sense. The word is not the law. Even paul said the law is a tutor to bring us to Christ.

Jesus also said faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word. The bible is Gods word. We have faith in the words we read and this is what saves us. Or if we misinterpret the word. it is what condemns us.

Yet if we did not have the word. We would not know Jesus, Your right. Scripture can not justify me, but I would not know how to be justified if scripture was not there. I would have to pick and chose who to believe and hope I am saved. I would have no way to test who was right and who was wrong.

Thank god he did not leave us blinded. He spent thousands of years writing his word so we can know who comes form god, And who comes from satan.

I have no faith in "what" Ramon ? No faith in those who claim they are able through God's Spirit and grace to heal the sick......BUT NEVER DO any such thing ? This would be correct. Faith is much more than believing God for a miracle. Or a sign and a wonder. It is trusting that His will for one's life will be brought to fruition....according to His will and plan. Not according to our own wants and desires. Nor is it "claiming" this or "claiming" that in Christ's name.....and then hoping for it thru "faith". How strong is your faith ? Do you limit the power of God by not visiting hospitals and healing those who are sick ? Faith is more than idle words my friend. I see the wonders of God everyday that I am alive.

My friend Jesus is the Word. HE is the word that was made manifest for us in these last times. My friend I want you to understand this very well. Because I wonder if it is not just a slight misunderstanding. So that we can see this beautiful peace the Lord has offered us. Let's seek for peace and understanding here:

It is only by the Lord revealing to us the Truth that we can Know the Truth. As the truth is hidden to many. Lets see it as a riddle.

Remember Samson gave the people a riddle and told it to his wife. When the people did not know the answer the pressured his wife to tell and she did. So when they had the answer Samson said you only knew it because you plowed with my heifer.

So instead of having revelation of the answer they stole the answer from another person.

This all has to do with the very nature and person of Jesus Christ. We have to know who he really is, and this can only be revealed by God himself, if God permits. It is only by revelation of the Truth that one can know the Truth, and then be made free. Revelation of the Truth is not of the bible but of Jesus Christ.

May Jesus bless you.

Kewl ! If it's gonna be REALLY massive, maybe I can be an apostle too ? Is there a course or sumpin' I should look into ? I saw a few guys on TV that just blew on people and they all fell down writhing and wiggling. Is this the stuff you're talking about ? It'd be fun to have that power. Sometimes being a christian gets kinda boring......if ya know what I mean.
ya....i hear that Fes.
here's a very comphrehensive study of the issues.
it's lengthy and weighty, an hour to read once, several hours (at least) to do the work of The Berean.
save it and check it out sometime (though there's little in it you're not already familiar with, Fes....i know how much you like plowing through the boring stuff).

it's just reassuring that we aren't alone in our determination to walk in the 'good way', the way He ordained beforehand that we should walk in, the way wherein is REST.

love you forever Fes,
zonest.

Jeremiah 6:16
This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'

CONCLUSION

......But human beings always are looking for something new, something exciting, and something flashy. They grasp for the attractive and the appealing, they want the easy way out, and they want something that makes them feel religious and secure—without having to face up to personal responsibilities. Hence, there will always be those who, instead of searching the Scriptures to find out whether these things are so (Acts 17:11), will simply disengage their minds, their spiritual sense, and their ability to assess “the words of truth and reason” (Acts 26:25).

Genuine Christianity today consists of simply taking the written Word of God, and studying it carefully in order to learn what God expects of us: simple meditation and reflection upon the Word of God—no brass bands or circus theatrics, no flash of light, or dream, or vision, no sudden rush attributable to the Holy Spirit. The pathway to heaven consists of honest, intensive investigation of written revelation, and a life of diligent self-discipline and self-denial that strives to incorporate spiritual attributes into one’s life—attributes like patience, compassion, kindness, humility, forgiveness, honesty, integrity, peace of soul, joy, and clean, moral living. There are no short cuts to spirituality. The miraculous is no answer. Even in the first century, miracles were not designed to develop these spiritual attributes.

Certainly, God loves us and has promised to care for us (e.g., Matthew 6:33). But His workings in the Universe and in our lives are undertaken today providentially through the natural laws that He set into motion. After the first century, He has not—and will not—violate His own purposes by interfering with these laws in order to perform a miracle. In the final analysis, we are under obligation to seek His assistance by listening to the instructions found in His written Word. Only words from God, then and now, will equip us and prepare us for eternity. As Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life” (John 6:68, emp. added). Jesus said to the Father, “Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17, emp. added). When Satan attempted to prod Jesus into performing a miracle, Jesus said to him, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4, emp. added).

A witness can't replace Christ. But a witness can testify of Christ. And we can trust that witness if we know he is trustowrthy.

The Scripture is the testimony and witness of Christ written by the HS. If we trust the HS, we can trust the word he wrote.

It does not mean we will not misinterpret what is said. But just because there is misinterpretation of a witness, does not means the witnesses word is null and void.

Yes my friend, indeed the men who spoke in the scriptures had the witness of the Spirit. As those who are saved have the same witness, and thereby can validate the witness in those who spoke.

This is very central, because without the witness of the Spirit ourselves we could not bear witness of the Truth.

I want to tell you about this witness. When I read some words of many of the Patriarchs the Spirit shows me their error. When I read Paul wrote something, I got checked and I knew Paul was speaking in the flesh, and not in the Spirit at a certain time, and it was confirmed when I read the next sentence in which he said he was speaking as a man.

Also, when I read about David, I knew when he was not in the Spirit, and in the flesh, because I was checked in my spirit by the Spirit of God in one of his cases. It is this same witness that witnessed through the prophets and that witnesses through the scriptures, but many people cannot hear this witness.

So when I say that Life is not in the bible, it is in Jesus Christ, we should be able to hear this witness.

May Jesus bless you.

Wow, So according to you the bible is a farse and totally worthless? Because if there is one error. non of it can be trusted.

Thanks. I believe scripture when it says ALL of it is inspired by God. Yes paul was speaking as a man. But he wrote what God told him to write. We can trust this because God said so. Paul did not make a mistake. can you show where one of his passages is in error? I would love to see it.

You ask proof from Scripture. I'm not surprised thy requests. You and like you always check all through the Scriptures. You want to know God through Scripture but do not want to come to Him Who will lead you to the Scriptures. You know God through Scripture, but you do not know Him personally! You do not know Him as the Spirit, and so your knowledge through the letter and the written word is nothing!
