There will be disagreements on this. But at the end of the day whether it's a 'small sin' or a 'big sin' it's still sin and still has the same effect and still requires the same thing to erase it.

Categorising sin can lead to discrimination and hatred, i believe. For some reasons sexual immorality and homosexuality are heightened as very bad sins to some people. Personally i see it no worse than heterosexuals fornicating or a person lying.

THAT AWKWARD MOMENT when you think you have a deep thought and decide to make a new thread and then some wise kidlets respond and in about 20 min you questions are answered :p

are there scriptures to back this up?
because i feel that certain sins are worse then others.

That is because certain sins have a more obvious affect on us as individuals or on how we perceive the world around us. Truth is not defined by feelings or perceptions, rather truth should define our feelings and perceptions.

There is only the one sin that brings immediate danger to the immortal soul. Afther this, to mankind there are varying degrees of sin, for man does not always grasp the Perfection that is Our Father.

To the Father, aside from that one sin, all sin is the same. It will render one's soul imperfect without the grace that comes with accepting our Father's Anointed Salvation, Yeshua. May Yahweh bless all who know Him, amen.

So, if we believe that all sins are exactly the same in God's eye........why are there different levels of punishment?

Just wondering........ ???

16 [/SUP]If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

[SUP]17 [/SUP]All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

There's sins of the physical nature and there are sins of the spiritual nature. The sins of the spiritual nature harm the soul and that's the sins that counts, and if the sinful soul love sinning, and of course if they love it, they will not have any remorse which make that person evil. But the ones that sins because they do not want to, but sin because they have to, is forgivable; but the ones that love harming a person and breaking the spirit of that person, is unforgivable. Because they had did it out of love which that is their true feelings.

Matthew 12:31
And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

Quite frankly, Jesus says no.

John 19:11
11 Jesus answered, “You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”

Luke 12:42-48 (NASB) [SUP]42 [/SUP]And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time? [SUP]43 [/SUP]"Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. [SUP]44 [/SUP]"Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. [SUP]45 [/SUP]"But if that slave says in his heart, 'My master will be a long time in coming,' and begins to beat the slaves, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk; [SUP]46 [/SUP]the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers. [SUP]47 [/SUP]"And that slave who knew his master's will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, will receive many lashes, [SUP]48 [/SUP]but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

It's not always the sins......... It's who the individual is. Since everyone is different in their maturity, their judgement will be different accordingly.

So he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.” “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!” Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” or he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean. When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
Was He talking about foot washing sacrament? I don't think so. He washed away our worst sins. But every now and then we need a touch up here and there and we are to do to one another.

Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2 Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Matthew 5:7
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Matthew 6:12
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

John 9:41
Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

Matthew 19:17
“Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

Matthew 22:38
This is the first and greatest commandment.

Luke 7:47
Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”

2 Corinthians 8:24
Therefore show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our pride in you, so that the churches can see it.

Hebrews 6:10
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
