I'm half Scottish and half Irish, so which half of me is saved?

Answer: BOTH! :p

QED!
jb,

I can't think of any special reason I chose Scottish. I could as well have said Swiss or Tongan, or Chinese.

Let me test this theory.

Are Jehovah Witnesses Christians? Mormons? Scientologist? (I think we can do this in the very basic sense.)
For the most part no (there may be some individual exceptions) their ultimate authority is outside Scripture and they all worship a different God from our God.

As far as I know Christ saves individuals not groups of people. Those are all cults in my book. But, God can and does use anything and anybody to bring folks to Himself. At what point do you decide they no longer have any chance?
Ha! Doesn't work for me. God is, so there is nothing left to chance. :)

I'm not talking about giving up on anyone. I was doing exactly what it appeared like I was doing -- asking folks if they thought Messianic Jews were saved.

I didn't even know some folks make a difference between Hebrew Roots and Messianic Jews because I have so little understanding of what Hebrew Roots is (close to nothing, except I tried to understand once) and, as shown clearly, not as big an understanding of Messianic Jews as I thought I did. So this has nothing to do with making a point. I'm genuinely interested what folks think of one group on here.

Lynn,

Hebrew Roots is one of the two kinds of groups that call themselves Messianic.

Hebrew Roots are Armstrongite, British Israel Gentiles.

Messianic Jews are Hebrew Christians and they are ethnically Jewish.

Most Messianic Jewish congregations are affiliated with either American Board of Mission to the Jews or Chosen People; both of which are mainstream Christian mission boards which draw their support primarily from mainstream churches and denominations.
I'm getting this better. I'm all the way up to understanding all the words you used. (Hey, not much, but at least I stopped thinking of kadishkeddles -- whatever they are. lol) An, oh wow. Armstrongites are British AND Hebrew Roots? I really did learn so little when I tried to figure out who they were. At least now I remember where I picked up the word "Armstrong" without thinking of a guy named Custer.

Yeah, I know Just checking out how much FreeNChrist is committing to his non-commitment. :)
