Well, actually only a few sins in the bible are called "abomination."
Homosexuality is one of them.
In a nutshell:
I had a friend whose father was a well known preacher in USA...
One day they came and brought two of his brothers... Beforehand, he told me the SORROW he had for having a sodomite as brother...
One day one of his brothers asked me to be his tourist guide and I said ok... I took him to the most elegant places I knew (that were cheaper, those days)
While talking and talking, the moment he asked to go to certain place, I had no idea on he who was, except the moment he asked me if I was LIKE HIM... What?
I thought the blond one I had left behind, with his siblings, it was the BLACK sheep I needed to ignore...
So, according to that "definition" of abomination I knew a PASTOR and his wife (and my friend) who HAD an abomination as brother, and as blood brother...
Look!
Is homosexuality worst than cheating on spouses?
Is that sexual sin worst than killing, lying, etc.?
I myself, being that good pastor reading what ppl think of HIS SON would have felt hurt (yet I´m offended for that bashing on THEM).
As I see myself, the Inquisition has started... Without remembering I´m also a sinner.
Have a look on these, you who love Paul´s:
Rom 2:1 Some of you accuse others of doing wrong. But there is no excuse for what you do. When you judge others, you condemn yourselves, because you are guilty of doing the very same things.
Rom 2:3 Do you really think God won't punish you, when you behave exactly like the people you accuse?
Rom 2:4 You surely don't think much of God's wonderful goodness or of his patience and willingness to put up with you. Don't you know that the reason God is good to you is because he wants you to turn to him?
Let´s turn them to JESUS!
Same way HE TREATED the Samaritan woman who had 5 men outside marriage.
Let´s help understand those words He told the woman
caught in ADULTERY: "Do not sin more!"
Joh 8:11 "No sir," the woman answered. Then Jesus told her, "I am not going to accuse you either. You may go now, but
don't sin anymore."
