My questions are:
Did you know that there is a supernatural tongue that has been in the world that is just vain & profane babbling before Pentecost had come with God's gift of tongues to speak unto the people? Bible does reference one in Isaiah 8:19
Whether that is supernatural or not, it has nothing to do with speaking in tongues. Speaking in tongues is not "peeping", "chirping", or "muttering". It is a language of men or of angels (1 Cor 13:1).
If so, if a sinner was called out from that occult practice and was born again of the Spirit, how can he prove that he has repented of that former lifestyle if he still spoke in that same kind of tongue?
He would not be "speaking that same kind of tongue".
How can any one in the assembly be the big brother watching over him when he could be unrepentant in the tongue & familiar spirit he communes by?
Why does nnyone need to watch over him?
Or that he had slipped back into practice again for whatever the reason?
What are you worried about? Don't you believe that God will give people what they ask for?
Luke 11:
10) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11) If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12) Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13) If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
And let's say that he is repentant, but picked up that same vain & profane babbling by receiving what other christians claims that was the Holy Spirit that came over him later on after some time when he was saved, bringing that tongue. How can he go out, wishing to evangelize his former sinners in the occult to repent and be saved if he still does the same kind of tongue? How could they be convinced that he is really a christian and that he is sincere when it looks like he is still opening himself up to receive spirits after he was saved?
The holy spirit does not "come over" people when they speak in tongues. People (Christians) speak in tongues of their own free will. So many Christians are waiting for God to "possess" them and MAKE them speak in tongues. That does not happen. People speak in tongues because they understand what it is, that they have the ability to do so (by the gift of holy spirit that dwells in them), and they choose to do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:[SUP]21 [/SUP]Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.[SUP] 22 [/SUP]Abstain from all appearance of evil.[SUP]23 [/SUP]And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.[SUP] 24 [/SUP]Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.[SUP]25 [/SUP]Brethren, pray for us.
If we are to prove all things and abstain from all appearances of evil by going before that throne of grace for help from Jesus Christ, how can we do that if we believe that God's gift of tongues can be turned around for the Holy Spirit to use as a means for His personal prayer, and yet John 16:13 says the Holy Spirit cannot use God's gift of tongues in that way at all because He cannot speak for Himself, but speaks what He hears as in being the Spirit of Christ?
Again, John 16:13 has nothing to do with speaking in tongues. Speaking in tongues was not possible before the day of Pentecost. "Praying in the spirit" is speaking in tongues (1 Cor 14"14-15; Eph 6:18; Jude 1:20).
So when Paul had given the bottom line on what tongues are for...which is of other men's lips to speak unto the people....
That is NOT the "bottom line" on what tongues are for. Tongues is for YOUR edification, and when interpreted, it's for the edification of the body of Christ.
1 Corinthians 14:20-22 ..
That is not saying that the primary purpose for tongues is as a sign to unbelievers.
and it is not used as a sign towards believers about anything
Right. Instructed believers know what tongues is, and what it is for.
let alone receiving the Holy Spirit separate from salvation with a sign of tongue
We have already discussed this. Tongues is not a separate outpouring of holy spirit. There is only one time a person receives the gift of holy spirit, and that is when he hears and believes the gospel (Eph 1:13). That is when he becomes saved.
how can you claim that your tongue is distinct and different from the kind of tongues those that have gained that tongue by the claim of that apostasy, for surely, God would not give His gift of tongues to support a lie?
Of course tongues is not a lie, nor does tongues support a lie. It is one of the nine manifestations of the singular gift of holy spirit that a person receives when he believes on the Lord Jesus Christ. Tongues is not a "gift". It is a manifestation of the gift of holy spirit. EVERY Christian has the inherent ability to speak in tongues.
Mayhap, sharing how you got your gift of tongues from those that have claimed otherwise, may help, but somehow, I would think a problem arises when they use tongues without interpretation the same way as you do, thus they can lord how they got that tongue by receiving what they believe was the Holy Spirit separate from salvation over you to prevent you from saying that how they got that tongue was not of Him, and yet that is how they got that tongue.
That's a really long sentence...
Again, every single Christian (person born again of holy spirit) has the ability to manifest that spirit in nine different ways (there are nine different manifestations), one of which is speaking in tongues.
And a Christian should never "lord it over" other Christians that they speak in tongues while other Christians don't. Instead, they should help other Christians UNDERSTAND what speaking in tongues is, that it is NOT a "special gift" separate from the gift of holy spirit, and help them to manifest.
Then they can start promoting other signs for receiving the Holy Spirit again like being "slain in the Spirit" or being "drunk in the Spirit" or the "holy laughter" movement, and so how can you stop them?
"Drunk in the spirit" and "holy laughter" are not in the Bible, and not the proper understanding of manifesting the gift of holy spirit. People who do and teach those things are wrong. God wants all things to be done decently and in order.
Maybe you can see why I am so adamant that God's gift of tongues is of other men's lips to speak unto the people and the Holy Spirit cannot use God's gift of tongues as a means for a prayer language.
You may be adamant, but you are wrong.
Tongue speakers are reading 1 Corinthians 12-13-14 chapters wrongly when Paul confined the gift of tongue as not a stand alone gift
Tongues is not a "gift" at all. It is a
manifestation of the gift of holy spirit. God would like every Christian to speak in tongues (1 Cor 14:5). But if a person wants to speak in tongues out loud in the church, he must interpret.
that it has to come with interpretation for that tongue to even be fruitful to the tongue speaker or else he is not truly edified.
No, tongues do not have to be interpreted to be beneficial to the person speaking in tongues. That person is speaking divine secrets (1 Cor 14:2), he is praising God (Acts 2:11; Acts 10:46), he is giving thanks well (1 Cor 14:17), he is building himself up (1 Cor 14:4; Jude 1:20).
Tongue speakers has to take every verses in those chapter to see the actual message of what God's gift of tongues were for.
I apologize for saying so, but you do not understand tongues, or what they are for.
