Hi Rachael,

The fact is that, the quote from Enoch is in the book of Jude and is therefore the inspired word of God. The book of Enoch, Ethiopic Enoch, goes into great details regarding Gen.6:1 and mentions the flood, gives us a better understanding why the flood took place, where Enoch went and those angels that sinned by taking wives from the daughters of men and why they had scrolls of sorcery, which is what Enoch states that those angels taught them. I believe that both Jude and Peter refer to these angles as those who put into chains of darkness under the earth, which Enoch also mentions. Also, Enoch was originally apart of the scriptures up until the third century.

i have a copy of first enoch and i have studied this issue...

the verse from jude actually -doesn't- match up with the verse from enoch...there is either an omission in jude's text or an addition in the ethiopic text...

this is a telltale sign of sourcing from two distinct stages in the development of the enochian tradition...which essentially places it into the realm of legendary literature and rules out the notion that first enoch was ever composed as a prophetic text by divine inspiration...

No matter the inspiration or cover story of the inspiration, it clearly indicates that she wants to have inner course with an extradimensional being who she asks "could you be the devil, could you be an angel?"

Whoever wrote these lyrics is either very artistic and knowledgable of the Bible, or is well aware that fallen angels will come to earth to breed with human girls again, or they are aware that it is already happening.

I'm not aware of any evidence that it is already happening, but I am not closed minded enough to deny any possibilities.

actually the argument that 'jude quoted from enoch' is not quite as indisputable as many people think...

The principle of the written spoken word refutes the claim that Enoch wrote a book.

Paul must have gotten a giggle out of the reference in Heb 11:5, "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death;.." However consider in Proverbs 4:7, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." Yet if given the choice which one would choose from that verse, myself I chose neither to seek wisdom nor understanding which which is foolish to most. After all faith comes by hearing, not reading. But rather I would choose the principle which is neither the wisdom of man nor the understanding of the wise, but the secret thing of God. However, consider 1 Cor 1:19, "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
And thus, the arguments for or against the book of Enoch is merely an example of 2 Tim 3:7 according to Isaiah 29:12.
So is Exodus 31:18 eluding to Luke 11:20 or vice versa.

The book of Enoch is not biblical, just as the life of Adam and Eve or the book of Jasher or Josephus nor the gospel of Peter or the sayings of Thomas. They can be for reference as to the customs of the times but, not the inspired word of God.

I would agree.Why a person would look for more is the question.What would be the purpose?

I would suggest that things are created after kinds and therefore an immutable gap exists between kinds that prevents them from multiplying outside of their own kind and therefore mixing of kinds. Each organism was to reproduce after its own kind or seed , not after some other kind.

The angel creation which is not subject to salvation cannot even multiply amongst their own selves, let alone violate the law of kinds. They as disembodied spirits are in a league of their own.

Everything we do see is created after the rudiments of this world. Angels have no DNA. There are no indication that out of the ground he made angels. They are ministering spirits not ministering flesh .

For instance can angel procreate with worms? Can worms be demonically possessed. Can an angel have an off spring of a tree ? Can there be a hybrid elephant that has angel genes?

The Genesis account is simply repeating the New Testament principle in respect to be unevenly yoked. At that time God was still protecting the genealogy of Christ through the spiritual seed of Christ.

Sons of God are the believers who have the Spirit of Christ called the generation of Christ .This is seeing if any man has not the Spirit of Christ they simply do not belong to God. Daughters of men are natural unconverted men that do not have the Spirit of Christ, the generation of Adam There is no reason to believe we have an alien race among us .Just look for the taller or longer ones.

As far as Balaam and his donkey God who also has no form simply did the same things as did the Satan who has no form (DNA) Satan put words in the mouth of a serpent to draw men away from the faith of God (not seen) The serpent who was likely the most beautiful of all the creatures he made from the ground .It was changed because of the fall, on it belly it went. That means it could of stood upright before the fall. God he put his words in the mouth of a donkey which represents the unclean or the generation of Adam to show us he is not served by human hands. It was another place in the old testament where we can the gospel in a parable like below . Again the ass represents the generation of Adam or the daughters of men. The lamb in that parable represents the lamb of God our redeemer.

Exo 13:13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

the original idea traces back to pagan myths about heroic demigod figures such as gilgamesh...some pagan influenced jews took to interpreting the hebrew scriptures in terms of this mythic worldview...

in modern times it seems the idea is taking on new popularity recently because of its 'sci fi' flavor...

...And only the bible is scripture. We can't go by any other doctrine. I could write the book of Cain today, and quote from it book, chapter and verse, but it won't be scripture from God's mouth. And anyone would be foolish to follow it.

There is a reason Enoch isn't in scriptures. My thoughts are it's a demonically inspired manscript to confuse God's message and uses the name Enoch to make it more "authoritative".

It does make it easy to start genocides of "tainted" people though. Wonderful for justifying a new holocaust only the witch hunt gets to be those "fallen Angel spawns"

If the book is demonically inspired how come Jude quotes from it? Apart from that the book of Jubilees also mentions them. God uses other writings to get his message across. He would use the Telephone Directory if he thought it necessary. Truth is not confined to the Bible although the Bible is the standard other things should be measured against.

I have a copy of Ethiopic Enoch and find the opposite, that it fills in a lot of the details that the Genesis does not go into, mentions the son of Lamech, Michael, Gabriel, the flood and a host of other related items. It gives a much better understanding of why God flooded the earth. As far as its credibility, if God put Jude's quote of Enoch in His word, then that speaks for itself. The popular understanding of this is that, Satan through those angels attempted to corrupt the blood line in order to interfere with the prophecies regarding the Messiah who would come into the world in the flesh. I have not done my own personal studies on this, so I will not elaborate any further. I would say this, since Jude quoted from the prophecy of Enoch and it is in the word of God, I would not be referring to the prophesies of Enoch as Satanic.
