A long time ago, I used to believe that I could lose my salvation, and the same for my husband. I was always in fear, never knowing if I was doing a good enough job, and not growing at all in character, or the fruits of the Spirit.

One day, I thought about how GOD SAVED ME!! I did not save myself. From that point on, I have the peace and security of knowing God will never leave or forsake me.

"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you" Hebrews 13:5 from Deut 31:6

God is in control, not me. He shows me where I have failed, and daily I confess my sins to him.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. [SUP]10 [/SUP]If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us." 1 John 1:9-10.

If God wrote in his Word that we can sin, we will sin, but Jesus still forgives us when we confess, other than really denying Christ, I can't see that we can lose our salvation.

By the way, I have continued to study and grow closer to God. I am confident that God will not cast me out.

"Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus," Hebrews 10:19

My husband, on the other hand, still believes he can lose his salvation. He is discouraged in his walk, and constantly feels he has done something and God will cast him out.

So this Arminan lie is a deceptive practice to keep people chained to the law, and to live in fear that God will "smote" them, and they will not spend eternity with Christ. Just my experience.

I could post so many more scriptures, but many have done so here.

I do believe the problem may be for those who make casual, emotional commitments, and never follow through on actually following God. Were they ever really saved in the first place? I leave that to God.
You used 1John 1:9 as so many do and I am not saying to not confess, I am saying if one confesses for forgiveness from God rather than just confess for learning from God they stay or I did stay trapped in not believing that I was forgiven back at the cross along with the rest of the world
After one reads 1 John 1:9 where does it say to ask over and over to receive more forgiveness? It doesn't and nowhere in the new Covenat we all are in today after the death of christ does it ever say to ask for anymore forgiveness if ine sins or not sins and Paul asked three times for a problem of some sort to be taken awayand God replied with his grace is sufficient, Paul thus learned to glory in his iniiquities. Peter said have you forgotten your past sins are forgiven and how soon ia any sin comitted past? You see let us settle this fact you are and the whole wrold is forgiven Reconciled to God at the death of Christ 100% it is done. And this is not for taking advantage of it is for to appreciate and thank God so much in appreciation you do not even think about anything else and everything that goes on you relate it to God not in proudness or boastfullness
How shallwe escape if we neglect: this is a great salvation a free gift but before new life could be offered God had to take away sin for you by yuor belief and thus here and now move on into the resurrected life of Christ Jesus you being born again between God and you, singing praises and thankfulness to God ans see what koing David said Psalm 100

Hebrews 2:3How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
[h=3]Psalm 100[/h]King James Version (KJV)

100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Did I already say NO?

Or was that last time?

My faith tells me that He will never leave me nor forsake me.
My faith tells me that nothing can come between me and the Love of God.
My faith tells me that all things work for the good for those that Love God and are called according to His purpose.
My faith tells me that We will overcome, by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

What does your faith tell you?
I love your posts Grandpa your Faith is unwavering and I am elated for this because I hear the angels rejoice and therefore you have received the righteusness from God that gives you the peace that passes all understanding, with confidence and quietness in the Holy Ghost of Christ Jesus. Us being in Christ, by trust in him we have also overcome not us per say but beacause we are in him. We are only partakers of the fruit and the fruit is the resurrection of Christ and we are now citizens of Heaven put back here on earth as Ambassadors representing the peace, love, joy and righteousnes found in Christ by the Holy Ghost

Who does?
Who know what they had to lose?
There are some that think they've made it when they haven't.
"Lord, Lord, didn't I do...."
But out of Jesus' own mouth," "all You have given me, I have kept, except the son of perdition that the scripture should be fulfilled"
We are to make our election sure, but God is the ultimate decider.
We are not to decide for Him.
Can a person born into the kingdom be lost?
NO.
Agreed!!!!!

Romans 9:11(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
Galatians 2:16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Ephesians 2:9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Theres no such thing as born again, the original greek says born from above.
So waht is the differance being born again from flesh to Spirit is born from above it is the resurrection that saves not the death the death only freed us from the panalty of sin that was death, sowe agree that we aredead in our sins and in need of Life and Christ Father give us this newlife by the resurrection of Christ and we are thus born from above a free gift while we were yet sinners Christ died for us to remove the sin issue, but the gift after that is new life in the Spirit of God being made citizens from above this is what the belief entails to the full Gospel it is more than just getting ones sins forgiven it is life after one receives taht they are forgiven 100% back at the cross

the problem with this argument is each side is ignoring the value of the the other sides reference scripture. we will never get revelation of what scripture really means if we are going to ignore part and whole to the ones that validate what we believe, we have to embrace all to get the truth.

Good point there Jason.

If a Christian could lose their salvation, then it would not be eternal life. A Christian can lose a lot of things. But Salvation is not one of them. Salvation is not of us, it is of the LORD. Now if a Christian sins, then God will chastise him because God is His heavenly Father.

Take Solomon for example, when Solomon lived on the earth, he had 700 wives and 300 concubines, about 999 women past the number of what a man could have. And a lot of those women turned his heart away from God Almighty and Solomon built temples for his wives to have favour with them. And Solomon had went after other gods because of his wives.

3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord, as did David his father.
7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
9 And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the Lord commanded.
11 Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
12 Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son. - 1 Kings 11:3-12 (KJV)

And yet after all those sins and transgressions, Solomon is in Heaven today.

Here is how we know this:

12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. - 2 Samuel 7:12-16 (KJV)
Here is another Scripture that confirms that Solomon is in Heaven today:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. - 2 Peter 1:20-21 (KJV)

Solomon was a holy man of God, we know this from reading the Scripture above. Solomon wrote a lot of the Proverbs, the book of Ecclesiastes and also the book of Song of Solomon, and maybe even a few of the Psalms. So from reading 2 Peter 1:20-21 also, we know that Solomon is in Heaven today.

Now I know that in the Old Testament there was no Eternal Security. For example, take Saul. The LORD had removed His mercy from Saul because Saul rejected the word of the LORD.

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord.
26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel. - 1 Samuel 15:23-26 (KJV)

But the example with Solomon is good for instruction in righteousness for Christians today, because it shows that chastisement and discipline will come if we disobey our Heavenly Father. If a man is truly saved and born again, then he is a child of God, and because he is a child of God, when he sins, he will be chastised because he is loved by God the Father, and our Heavenly Father scourges all sons whom He receives:

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
- Hebrews 12:5-11 (KJV)

So one of the signs of a genuine convert is that he or she will receive correction when they sin if they are truly saved.

1st Corinthians 3

[SUP]10[/SUP] Bythe grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someoneelse is building on it. But each one should build with care. [SUP]11[/SUP] For no one can lay any foundation other than theone already laid, which is Jesus Christ. [SUP]12[/SUP]If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, [SUP]13[/SUP] their work will be shown forwhat it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed withfire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. [SUP]14[/SUP] If what has been built survives, the builder willreceive a reward. [SUP]15[/SUP] If it is burned up, thebuilder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escapingthrough the flames.

One either believes or one does not, pretty simple and if one does believe God has become their teacher
[h=3]Hebrews 8:11-13[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]11 [/SUP]No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”

[SUP]13 [/SUP]By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

God knows who are his, and to me this is what truly matters, and the Love of God spreads abroad in us, and pours out a cup that overflows.
It really is not hard being hidden in the Savior, Jesus Christ as some make it out to be.
If one will take on Christ's yoke and burden that is, in place of their own, it might become light and easy you decide.
I know that when I take on my own it is hard, yet every time I take on Christ's it all becomes light unto the Father of and I am at rest from the flesh, living in the Spirit of God

Was Judas born again ?
Nope, there is only One who has been born again...

Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

One Firstfruit...

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

If you do not have the Spirit you do not have life, if one believes they are sealed with the Spirit of Christ, Born again in the hidden man of the heart where one serves God, with the Spirit of God
Unless one is born again, then they can't see God. Even at Calvary when he gave up the Ghost the dead came out of graves,
Hmm!!!!!!!!!!!!! to deny life here and now to have this from God through the resurrected Christ, is calling Jesus a liar when he said the below before he went to the cross, where after we have this life of Contentment, whether Shipwrecked, poor, or wealthy, a good job or not, we are content in all things, praising God as Paul did and does in all things, worshipping God in Spirit and truth
[h=3]John 10:10[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]10 [/SUP]The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
The thief has been Judged and flesh as well, and this is why God can only be worshipped in Spirit and truth

  1. John 4:23
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
John 4:22-24 (in Context) John 4 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations
  2. John 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23-25 (in Context) John 4 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations
  3. John 14:17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
John 14:16-18 (in Context) John 14 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations
  4. John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

And all this came possible after the cross, death and resurrection of Christ, with out the resurrection of Christ we are still in our sins, with the resurrected Christ we are forgiven, reconciled, redeemed all in the Spirit of God, flesh is dead to God.
So why not be dead to self as well, since being in flesh is the only place one can sin, since all sin is condemned to flesh.
free choice we all see it as we see it, and I know God will straighten us all out to the truth, when God receives us and accepts us.
Oh wait a minute God did do this while we were yet:
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 8:34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
2 Corinthians 5:14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.
