yes he would, you should read your bible more.

“I will have no compassion,
15 even though he thrives among his brothers.
An east wind from the Lord will come,
blowing in from the desert;
his spring will fail
and his well dry up.
His storehouse will be plundered
of all its treasures.
16 The people of Samaria must bear their guilt,
because they have rebelled against their God.
They will fall by the sword;
their little ones will be dashed to the ground,
their pregnant women ripped open.”[b]

pretty much saying yeah they are all going to die for rebelling.
I never thought the day would come, Naut, when I would agree with you... Against Jimmy. Perhaps I should reconsider my position? :)

Lol. Then someone is doing something terribly wrong. :D

I'm not expert, but...

Price of bullet: $0.20
Price of relative to pull trigger: $free$

vs.

Price of providing food for life: $100,000
Price of jailer, jail cell, clothing, electricity, blah, blah, blah: Who cares, $100,000 is already way more than 20c.
you're lack of understanding the basic working nature of a legal system makes this laughable at best. I guess ignorance really must be bliss.

[h=3]Psalm 10[/h]King James Version (KJV)

10 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

[SUP]2 [/SUP]The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

[SUP]14 [/SUP]Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

[h=3]Psalm 94[/h]King James Version (KJV)

94 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
[SUP]4 [/SUP]How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
[SUP]5 [/SUP]They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

[SUP]8 [/SUP]Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

[SUP]9 [/SUP]He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
[SUP]10 [/SUP]He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

I was trying to challenge him. I have no problem with what God commands.

Check 1 Sam 15:3

[SUP]3 [/SUP]Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

I know he is swift and harsh with his judgements against man, and they are justly harsh.

Because we are render unto Caesar what is Caesars. Application for today is if our government passes a law, we must accept or be punished, example-speed limits. As long as it's not a direct violation of God's moral law, we are to obey it.

I am not sure if capital punishment is applicable for today, or that you can make a solid clear cut case to support biblically. So i'm on the fence with this issue (depends on the case really), and I just wanted to know what Starfield's view was if was her to choice.
Hi Bookends,

I’m not against capital punishment and believe it should be reserved for the most heinous crimes like serial killing, terrorism, after thorough investigation. This is to balance the scale of justice and can be supported with Genesis 9:6. Also, when the bible speaks of not retaliating, turning the other cheek, etc., they all pertain to interpersonal conflicts in our everyday lives rather than the judicial system. We are not to take the law into our own hands.

Matthew 5:26Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

Luke 23:43
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

We are just in a love-love-hate relationship Richenbrachen. Hopefully we love each other as brothers in Christ, we also apparently love to hate the majority of each others opinions. Im okay with this, because you aren't a bad person we just tend to disagree...a lot.

Deuteronomy 19:11-13

"But if there is a man who hates his neighbor and lies in wait for him and rises up against him and strikes him so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities, then the elders of his city shall send and take him from there and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. "You shall not pity him, but you shall purge the blood of the innocent from Israel, that it may go well with you.

Nope. It was the same day, as Jesus had said. Remember when Moses and Elijah came to Jesus when He was transfigured before the disciples? The thief was with Jesus in paradise, that very day.

Jesus said He would be in the grave three days and three nights after His crucifixion. If that is so, and it most certainly is, could the thief have been with Christ in Paradise that very day?

Notice Luke 23:43 carefully. Jesus said that the crucified malefactor would be with Him in Paradise. If we can prove where Jesus went when He died, then we can prove if the malefactor really went to Paradise that day.

Jesus said the repentant malefactor would be with Him in this Paradise, but the New Jerusalem is not yet finished. Jesus is still preparing a place for us in it (John 14:2), for it will not be fully ready until after the Millennium (Revelation 20:1-5). Not until then will it descend to earth—and not until then will the repentant malefactor enter Paradise!
Then what did Jesus mean by saying, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise"? Most have assumed that Jesus promised the thief that he would be with Him in paradise that very day. Nothing could be further from the truth!
Remember the thief had asked earlier, "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom" (Luke 23:42). The plain fact is that Jesus has not yet come into His Kingdom (Luke 11:2; 19:11; I Corinthians 11:26; I Thessalonians 4:13-17; I Corinthians 15:23, 49-52)!

That's not what Jesus said - Jesus said that "today you will be with me in paradise". Jesus is God - He can be in more than one place at a time. Look at the Holy Spirit for an example of this - He indwells every believer.

what then is the purpose of the ressurrection ?
Good question. Perhaps our spirits being with Jesus isn't enough, and we should have physical bodies also. I'm not sure.

[SUP]28 [/SUP]Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

[SUP]29 [/SUP]And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

The thief di not go to heaven but awaits the resurection just like everyone else

Acts 24

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

[SUP]16 [/SUP]And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men.
