What of the character assassination of Christ? What of those who make Christ to be lesser than God?

Honestly, Character assassination doesn't bother me a bit. People usually accuse me of being a liberal because I don't support killing foreign babies. I then respond with a cute meme to let them know that I'm just a friendly neighborhood anarchist.
At least we know where you're coming from.I disagree with you but I know what to expect. You dont blindside me,I know your angle. I dont get Jekyll and Hyde with you. :)

VVhat are your thoughts on dealing with character assassination on the forums? You know, when people accuse others of lying, attacking, or partaking in any malicious activity. How should this be resolved? A lot of it comes up when people start addressing the commentator instead of the content of the comment. Maybe instead of accusing the person of certain things we would be better off just addressing what they said?

I don't like this, that I have to come to my defense cause someone wants to accuse me of things and then my character is put on the line for me to defend. Thank God others, friends, can jump in and vouch for me but still, how fair is it when we accuse someone of doing something instead of just addressing their points? I can already see certain individuals calling me a hypocrite and saying I've done this to them and surely we all have to some degree. I am not ignorant of that.

I don't know guys, we are a Christian forum. Can we have some type of proper etiquette? Address the comment, not the commentator. I feel, too often, we have people going for the jugular and trying to completely defame another. This isn't good. It isn't righteous and is of questionable character in and of itself. Character assassination, I feel, has happened a little too freely and ought to be addressed.
I bully bullies; other than that, I'm a nice guy. And my heart is softening, praise God.

May I add those who continually demonize pastors and the Lord's churches.
They never name names, just group all together as evil.

It is usually too big a topic to discuss.

Usually people have run out of arguments and they resort to ad hominem arguments (against the man) which is a logical fallacy in a lot of cases.

The Bible says a lot about speech and I put down at least three pages of Biblical examples and examples in an article I wrote but the topic itself is too big because I wouldn't know where to stop because it literally would take pages and hours to give an exhaustive systematic theology on speech through the Bible.

I suggest saying hello through PM's to a few Christians that might be able to help you or be friendly towards you to give you pointers because each case is different.

What people wrongly say to you is also your opportunity to disciple them and help them with their sanctification.

No, I just had a long discussion with Yet who makes many good points, but also says that all pastors and churches are evil.

As long as everyone keeps assuming it is not him/her, but others, nothing changes.

How many times a day are we to ask/answer this question?

I think what's going on is when you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one that gets hit barks the loudest.

Jesus had the same problem, the apostles did to. Speak some truth, and be accused of having a devil, etc..

Ive never been accused of that but I have been accused of being bitter, hateful, a lone wolf, I hate the church, I'm arrogant, I'm believing truths that God was simply using hyperbole with, etc., etc.......anything to avoid facing the scriptures I submit. It's called 'spinning' a diversionary tactic that works quite well. Thats why I keep using the same scriptures over and over till maybe someday someone will actually go and study them out. I hold out hope.
If I was just rattling off this, that, and the other thing, people would have a right just to blow me off, but I use the bible to back my position....what do you do with that? Slam the messenger and run!

For some church is the only family and connevtion they've got. What will you have them do? Some get church online, what will you have them do? If you did away with church it would displace a whole bunch of folks.

That reveals that they do not comprehend the consequences of their actions. To disparage God's man is to disparage God. God has gifted pastor/teachers to the church for the edification of the body.

A sad thing to realize is that many have no idea what they do to the Lord who shed His blood to save them. Christ endured shame and suffering beyond our comprehension and He did if because He loved us when we did not love Him.

I point to heresies, using the bible. If folks are practicing certain beliefs that are clearly forbidden in the word, does that mean those folks are evil? I won't go that far. They operate in ignorance. But if they refuse the biblical corrections, does THAT make them evil? You answer it. Reformers down through the centuries have never ever been well received. Does that make me a big shot? Absolutely not. It just makes me concerned for the body of Christ and Christ's honor and reputation that is MUD in the eyes of the world.

Have you studied the scriptures I put forth? Of course not. You are telling me to forget about God's word and simply go along to get along. That is indeed sad to realize. But it fulfills the prophesy about the 'church' apostasizing further and further into the arms of Rome, the one world religion. You would have told Paul to 'go along Paul to get along'. He didn't and was rejected by all the fellowships in Asia. Some things never change.

You end your slam with 'for the cause of Christ' a different christ.

Well I pretty much feel like you are attacking my church and my pastor when you post about the evils of churches. How can you possibly know anything about my church? Me thinks that because my pastor gets paid to lead my church he is a heretic in your eyes. Am I wrong?
