For LBG and Wakeup,

I will put the ball back in your court.

Where in Scripture does Jesus say He is not the one true God? Please answer thank you kindly.
That they may know you THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent
John 17:3

Niow let me put the ball firmly back in your court

Where dies Christ plainly state he is the one true God? (not your inferences from your scholars please)

Where did Christ plainly state eternal life hinged on believing he was the one true God?

Where did Christ plainly command anyone to believe he was the one true God?

BTW

I spoke to a SECOND Baptist minister last Sunday and told him that a Baptist on an internet website was telling people they were condemned and heretics if they simply believed Jesus was the son of God and not God himself

Like the first Baptist minister he shook his head, and when I asked him straight if he considered me a Christian though I believe Christ is the son of God and not God Himself, he replied

Do you believe Jesus is your Saviour and that he died for your sins?

Yes, I replied

He told me I was definately saved

So it seems you are at odds with Baptist ministers with your denouncements Phil.

BTW

Have you found a sermon yet from a Baptist church in the uK which states the following

If you believe Christ is the son of God but not God Himself you are a heretic and condemned.

Why is it so difficult to find one sermon from a mainline Baptist church in the UK that states what you believe?

Re: Bible Students and "Man is Becoming God"?

Is that in the scriptures? The triune God,or is that just added on for some on known reason? The triune God,the trinity God,and whats next.Oh yes God the father,God the Son, God the holy spirit. Next would be the SUN God.
so far:

- you haven't shown you know what gospel is
- you don't know what the new birth is
- you don't know how jesus saves
- you don't believe Jesus is God
- you think knowledge is the same as faith
- you have a warped heremeutic, theology and eschatology.

so why not go for the sun god? he's just one of many, isn't he? like jesus and men eventually?

you could honour the god of forces maybe.

Before Abraham was, I am

I and the Father are one.

I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. "I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.

And ofcourse...what did sonship mean in 1st century Palestine?

Jesus Christ is God, Lord and Saviour.

does he?
well i guess there's one baptist preacher that says what you have been saying they do not say.

so don't listen to him LBG because he does expository teaching, verse by verse, with very careful exegesis. and he says srciptures say and the Spirit testify that Jesus is God.

huh. i guess most christians believe a created entity can not forgive their sins (btw: the jews don't either)

BTW

I am quite sure there are false churches who do preach from the pulpit

If a person believes Christ is the son of God but not God Himself they can have no eternal life.

The world is a big place, and false teaching abounds. But among the mainline churches I would think to use such words would put a church in the vast minority of churches

But I doubt Phil will produce such a sermon with those words in it from a mainline Baptist church in the UK

I think it a very reasonable request that Phil supply a sermon from the church denomination he belongs to that states from the pulpit what he does to people on this website

If a person believes Christ is the son of God but not God Himself they are a heretic and condemned

Zone, through great striving and efffort on your part(to use your words) you have learnt much from scholars and theologians

Did they not teach you that honesty is of great importance to the Christian?

I thought you could only be a disciple of Christ as there were only 12 apostles?
Apostles referring to those that walked with Jesus and the rest were disciples.

that's what I thought, but I don't think it matters as long as your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. that is the important part and following God with your whole heart, mind and spirit :)

We just have to keep our eyes focused on what is most important: that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and has risen from the dead and is now in Heaven :) Praise the LORD!

I have read in the BIble that Paul was appointed apostle to the gentiles and he did not walk with Jesus while He was on Earth. only after the encounter on the road. perhaps more Bible study and prayer?
