As I read this my heart is sorrowful. I wonder how as a Christian you judge other Christians so. What we need to do is know the difference between those chosen and called by GOD. I say this to say that it is writtenmany will say in the end times LORD i did this in Your Name and the LORD says I know ye not.

We as Christians are not to see the world as the world sees but instead see through the eye and heart of GOD and Pray, intercede and spread the Gospel that men be Saved. If something truely disturbs yoyr spirit then be positive and provide a solution also keep in mind Prophecy must take place.

Blessings!!!!!!!

Christianity, the word derives from to be christ like has been the most offensive religion the world has ever known. From bombing abortion clinics, to taking up arms to fight isis in the name of Christ. From the crusades to anti semitisim Christianity is by far the hardest religion to understand. I am a christian and though I take no part in any of the above I ask God to forgive those that do, regardless of what is true and holy saints these are our roots. No wonder our effects on this world are becoming null and void. Not that we should ever give up but the body of Christ needs Christ more than ever before. If we were given the privilege of the great commission, to have stewardship untill the master comes back then we need to repent and ask forgiveness. We need to return to our first love and stop fighting among ourselves. We have become to arrogant, shallow, but most importantly we do not love as we should. Love is the most powerful message we could ever send to this fallen world. I think one of the most important stories in the bible is when Mary, Joseph, and Jesus went to the temple and they lost Jesus......ya see even though they were doing what God had asked and what was good ...their eyes were off Jesus.
Saints let us pray without ceasing for the body of Christ. Peace
Maybe you should've prayed before you posted this hogwash. Pray for the body of Christ! You just blasphemed the name of the Lord.

Christians don't bomb abortion clinics. Idiots do. Christians are not murderers.

This world would be one hellish place if it weren't for Christians. In fact, you'd probably be living in poverty or in a country worse than North Korea.

And your statement Christianity, the word derives from to be christ like has been the most offensive religion the world has ever known.

That statement has the Devil written all over it.

Do you understand the meaning of the word Christian? CHRISTian. A follower of Christ does not do evil. Does not murder. Christ didn't.

I saw that someone in the this thread wrote that the term Christianity is a rather wide one. I think the person means it has a broad meaning.

NO IT DOES NOT.

The definition of Christianity is CHRIST.

Who are Christians? Followers of Christ. Are they not the body of Christ?

Saul, Saul why persecutes thou Me, is hard for you to kick against the goads?(Acts 9.)
In persecuting Christians, Paul was hurting himself in many ways. Mainly, he was persecuting the Christ.

So your statement is equal to: Christianity (Christ), the word derives from to be christ like has been the most offensive (Person) religion the world has ever known. You cannot escape that. In your venture to be philosophical instead of truthful, you actually brought shame to the cause of Christ. You fill in the blank, _____ is the most offensive person the world has ever known.

Then you try to tone down your foolish remark by wrapping it in bacon.

(Were's Angela53510? She has a way with words. If I find she disagrees with me on this issue, I'll boot her off my friends list.)

Posthuman and Willie-T,

There's nothing to LIKE about the OP. It is blasphemous. It is twisted and only cast doubt and shame on the name of Jesus Christ.

The OP is false.

I am going to report it.

This is supposed to be a CHRISTian forum. What do we have? Folks who claim to be Christians actually posting anti-Christian messages.

Amazing!

It's been reported.

(Let's all just cater to those who slyly post anti-Christian remarks. You know, if a man says something insulting to another man's wife, there'd be a problem. Why is it that a supposed Christian can blasphemy Christ, and folks don't get upset? I don't get it.
Didn't Jesus get upset? Why? The greedy Jewish leaders turned the house of Jesus' Father into a den of thieves.)

Now I got to address the reply with the words the term Christian has a wide meaning. Something like that.

So now we're going to redefine Christianity. I'll post the rest there.

(And where is ANGELA52510 or 53510?)

I'm just contemplating how to answer the fool who started this OP.

"A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion." Prov. 18:2

"A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back." Prov. 29:11

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, fools despise wisdom and knowledge." Prov. 1:7

This is one of the most negative OP's I have read in a long time, which is saying a lot for CC.

It is filled with lies, inaccuracies and half truths. I have sincere doubts as to whether the OP is born again. If they were, they would be looking for the transforming power of the gospel, not humanist lies about Christianity.

My prayer is that the OP will turn to Jesus Christ. I know God can change even a fool into a saint. My final thought is that the OP needs to read some history that is not revisionist. And more important, read the Bible to find out who Jesus is and what he taught.

One must remember that the term "Christianity" is a rather wide one.

There are Christians who profess faith in Jesus Christ, but don't possess it. They are tares and goats.

Christ will sort out the tares from the wheat, and the goats from the sheep, when He returns.

Matt 13: [SUP]24 [/SUP]He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, [SUP]25 [/SUP]but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds[SUP][a][/SUP] among the wheat and went away. [SUP]26 [/SUP]So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. [SUP]27 [/SUP]And the servants[SUP][b][/SUP] of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ [SUP]28 [/SUP]He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ [SUP]29 [/SUP]But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. [SUP]30 [/SUP]Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’”

I John 3:15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

By the way, similar slanders against Christianity are used by atheists. I point them to the millions of deaths that were caused by atheistic regimes such as communistic nations and their leadership.

Regards,

Robert

Robert,

I am biting my tongue. Praying. Trying to be patient. 1,2,3, breath in, breath out. Pray. A soft answer. Patience. Calm. Relax. Breath in, deep, slowly breath out. Inhale, Exhale. . . The Lord is my strength and my shield. Trust in Him.

Okay. I'm ready.

This statement: One must remember that the term Christianity is a rather wide one.

WRONG! No, I am not shouting. Just being emphatic.

Neither you nor I get to define Christianity. Christianity is a most pointed and direct word.

If you mean to say people misapply the word, then say as much. Be clear.

Okay. Now what a Muslim? One says I am a Christian and Muslim. Can that be true? No. And guess where you are going to go to prove it can't be? The Bible. You will turn to such verses as You cannot serve two masters. You are either for Me or against Me.

See, the Bible, Christ is the definition of Christianity.

I hope you were only alluding to the fact that people use the word Christianity loosely. Misuse it.

Like this: I love God. Then a few hours later, I love that car. Really? It's a misuse of the word Love. Only God can define love. Why? Because He is love. He is the One who gave us the ability to love. It came from Him.

Robert, I hope you will take this not as an attack on you. I just finished responding to the OP, and some of my anger may have spilled over. I reread your post. And in so doing, I may have misunderstood.
I hope that is the case.

He never "blasphemed" Jesus. He pointed out some absolute truths about the mess we have made of a movement we call "Christianity." I believe he, as do I, follows Jesus... not worshiping something kind of oddly the functional opposite of most of what Jesus taught, that we have named "Christianity."

Posthuman and Willie-T,

There's nothing to LIKE about the OP.
sometimes i "like" posts just to get the attention of the person that posted it.
but there are things to like - "we need to return to our first love" and "pray without ceasing for the body of Christ"
and i think it's true that "we don't love as we should"

of course there are also statements apparently misguided and ignorant of historical context, comparative actions of other religious groups, and the large and important point that not everyone who acts under the banner of "christianity" is truly following Christ.
there's a lot i disagree with in the OP too. but is he talking about 'christianity' as a broad religious umbrella, or about actually following and trusting in Christ?

sometimes i also "like" posts not because of what they say, but because of what they make me think.
what i thought reading this OP was i need to be a better ambassador of Christ than some others have been. and i like that thought; it encourages me toward the right path.

you remind me too, that "like" is a public thing that i guess i misuse. i ought to be more careful with it, for the sake of others. thanks!

He did his damage. Probably licking his chops. I can see it now. Sitting and feasting at a table so grand, dim are the lights. I see a shadow. Oh, a second one is there. That's one large room and one large table. A banquet. The other one there . . . one large fork!

I understand LIKE can mean a number of things.

In the case with this OP, the one statement was/is by itself plenty enough to darken the rest of the post.

Glad you both responded.

Willie,
He did. The blasphemy lies within the word Christianity. What is Christianity? The following of Christ.

Christ created Christianity.

Here's his statement: Christianity, the word derives from to be christ like has been the most offensive religion the world has ever known.

I will restate it: The word Christianity derives from this To Be Christ Like. Christianity has been the most offensive religion the world has ever known.

That's blasphemy. It speaks evil of the way of Christ.

Nominal Christians are Christians in name only. They do not possess real faith. The crimes that were the topic of the initial post were perpetrated largely by nominal Christians. I think the rest of the post made my meaning clear.
