Why not? The person who no longer lives in America still has first-hand experience of America. Since this is the BDF, we can take it to a Scriptural perspective, and say that the person who is saved is allowed to give an opinion on what being unsaved is, even though they no longer live there :)
LOL I guess you are right sis...... about this being BDF :p

The rest....... not so much :p

All jokes aside, the South Africa we live in today has dramatically changed over the last couple of months. Racism is at an all-time high and we all need to calm down, take a step back and re-assess the situation.

Jesus said the law will last forever. That means all 613 laws scattered in the Torah are in effect. We have no hope of keeping that law. Therefore we must accept the grace through faith that Jesus gave us on the cross. All who reject Him will face judgment based on the law. We acknowledge the law is in place when we admit that we sin since sin is transgression of the law.

This may seem like a really dumb question (s) but I'm gonna ask.

You are saying that the 613 are still in effect.

He can that be if he fulfilled all 613?
Who were the 613 given to?
How were their sins covered?
My understanding is that it was as a result of the sacrificial system.

Is the following one or the 613

Deuteronomy 25:11
Miscellaneous Laws
11 “If two men fight together, and the wife of one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of the one attacking him, and puts out her hand and seizes him by the genitals,

If so is that law still in affect?

Also

Leviticus 11:9-12
9 “Of all the marine animals, these are ones you may use for food. You may eat anything from the water if it has both fins and scales, whether taken from salt water or from streams. 10 But you must never eat animals from the sea or from rivers that do not have both fins and scales. They are detestable to you. This applies both to little creatures that live in shallow water and to all creatures that live in deep water. 11 They will always be detestable to you. You must never eat their meat or even touch their dead bodies. 12 Any marine animal that does not have both fins and scales is detestable to you.

So is the above still in effect?

So I eat prwans, crab and love shellfish.

Is that law still in effect?

So in a sense when I eat one of my favourite foods, lobster, then it's a sin as I have transgressed the law and it's by grace through faith that I am forgiven because I eat lobster?

Not being obtuse, truly I'm not.

I find such thoughts interesting and confusing given the 613 in terms of they they are still in effect.
As you say.

have you seen what is going on in south Africa? with the farms being seized? with government officials saying anti-white things?

I am not saying I am an expert in south Africa politics, I normally agree with your posts, but I encourage you to do a little research into what is going on there before lecturing someone who lives there. or used to live there.
Unfortunately gNp knows exactly what is going on in South Africa because he is a saffa (South African emigrant). The problem is you have people not willing to admit the problem and only the white race can be racist (well according to the politicians here).

According to our friend gNp I am a racist because I can acknowledge cultural differences. He is the one pointing his finger from a foreign country to me staying in South Africa making a difference here, how ironic.

JESUS saw our struggle and had mercy on us and came to earth to die on the cross satisfying the penalty of us breaking GOD's law but Its always been Grace through faith to be saved or be perfect to GOD In their own strength and no one could be perfect to GOD In their own strength.
I totally agree But left out is Jesus saves us from the penalty of the law with grace through faith. Those who reject Jesus are under condemnation of the law. We admit the law is in place when we admit we sin. Sin is transgression of the law.

The most racist people in the USA are the ghetto blacks. They blame whitey for their problems and drop out of school saying it is no use since whitey holds them down. Thus creating a self fulfilling prophecy. They ignore the fact that at every level of government we have and had blacks. Obama was president for 8 years. SCOTUS and congress have blacks. But they don't want to look at that. Just complain about their own self caused problem. Can't get a good job because on lack of schooling and blame it on whitey keeping them down.

Africa? My apologies, I thought you said America :) And you did :D My apologies, though, for I had not followed the conversation. Ah, yes, some things are changing quickly, even in America. I may never understand why white people want to live in a country such as that (South Africa), where there is so much violence :( I know some have been there for generations, but the violence has been ever present.

In my job as a field service engineerengineer for EMR Telemetry I went to South Africa on some occasions. The last was after apartheid fell. There were camps of tin houses that held blacks. They often put them under overpasses to protect them from the rain. Prior to that there was the black area and the white area. Blacks were only permitted in the white area if they had a job there. Mostly servants to whites. They didn't have schools to get a good job. I talked to some blacks and they understood what had happened in the US with blacks. They wanted to come here but didn't have the money. Whites were fearful about things like this happening. It took a while but now blacks are wanting revenge. It's not going to be pretty but the blacks don't seem to understand the white South African mentality. There will be counter revenge. It might get bloody.

Magenta, I can track my ancestry to the first three boats of people coming to South Africa with Jan van Riebeeck so Africa is in my blood. The other option for me is to go to Canada or Australia and be labelled a foreigner for the rest of my life. My son will be okay but I will always be a foreigner.

We sold our house last year within a day in a depressed house market. We saw it as a sign. We prayed about emigrating and God told us “No”. What do I do then? Do you listen and stay or do you pack your things and move. We are blessed in South Africa even if I have bars in front my windows.

It was relatively peaceful under apartheid and the times I went there after it was rescinded. I traveled several places for my job. No violence. This is more of a recent development. The only violence I remember there was tribal conflicts once in a while. Revenge killings slowly going forward tribe against tribe in the black areas.

Come to the US and nobody gives a shit where you come from. We have people here from every country in the world. We are called the melting pot for this reason. Everybody welcome if they come here legally!! Go to Canada first if needful.

Stupid 5 minute rule
Had to go take a leak.
If you are young enough and married get here and have a baby. That makes it impossible to pry you out. They are called anchor babies.

What you are doing now is to give one side of the story. Yes South Africa did have apartheid but schools were build and burned down. If you visit South Africa today you will still find tin houses everywhere, so was the tin houses build as a result of apartheid? I don’t think so friend.

Education is a problem and the current issue is that the education levels of the teachers are bad. Politicians are openly corrupt and billions of rands are being squandered on dodgy deals.

The bigger problem is that everybody expects toget something for free. You have beggars at almost every traffic light everyone with their own sad story. Who do help, who do you turn away?

The problem with a black vs white mentality is that it creates division and I fear that we are close to a point of no return and then like you say bad things are going to happen. All we do is pray and trust in God that He will intervene and salvage what is left of our beautiful country.

I always say to my wife, there is only one country I will emigrate to and that is America. I don't know why but maybe it is the idea of the land of the free :)

God bless friends, I am going to bed now.

Now I tried to post this new post and was told I violated the 5 minute rule.

For GandulfTheWhite
If you are young enough and married get here and have a baby. That makes it impossible to pry you out. They are called anchor babies.

Pregnant Mexican women come here to have their babies and go back to Mexico with their babies birth certificate. Thus they have dual citizenship. They can go to the US embassy or consulate with the birth certificate and get documentation proving US citizenship.

Our citizenship rules are lax compared to other countries.

gb9, perhaps you did not read all my posts!

I AM South African!
I hold a South African Passport!
I travel regularly to South Africa!
ALL my family apart from one cousin, who lives in France of all places, STILL live there!

As for the the political, social, and cultural situation in the country, I am very well aware of what is, and what is not, going on!
And as for the crime situation in the country - every single person in my family has experienced violent attacks, with my father being murdered in his own home!
My awareness of the situation in the country is NOT theoretical.

Furthermore, my ability to see exactly what GandalfTheWhite is ACTUALLY saying, given I know his cultural and social background, is probably a bit better than anyone here who is not a South African!

So, in fact my "credentials" to criticise GandalfTheWhite's bigoted and racist views are pretty good!
