I would love to meet fellow christians, so I will be going to churches.
Most of them here in europe are closed, only opened sunday mass.
I will be traveling hopefully from germany to amsterdam, to france, to spain.

Do you think you are running from God? Because God will find you wherever you go. I'm praying for you to find Christ.

The evidence points to purposeful design, I accept the designer, design demands a designer. But, just like most things it's the interpretations that is confusing, and please, don't say Holy Spirit will guide me, please, all christian denominations claim it.

Not really I just like the thought of riding a motorcycle across a dark desert highway with a cool wind in my hair, you know free from the concrete jungle we are all trapped in.
Being a Christian has nothing to do with joining a denomination. It has to do with having a relationship with the Creator of the universe. The Holy Spirit is God's Spirit on earth. He is the one who makes Jesus Christ and the gospel real.

You are on the right track, though. I know the year before I was saved, I realized that someone had created the earth. I just didn't know who. Then Jesus tapped me on the shoulder and said, "It was me, I created the earth, and I cared so much about you, that I came to die on the cross for your sins."

That was 35 years ago, and God is still real. And I have changed denominations a few times. But that had nothing to do with my relationship with Christ. Just some doctrine and fellowship things, and moving!

Don't confuse doctrine with that relationship. I love to discuss the truth of the Bible. But it never changes that root of knowing and loving God, and also confessing and repenting of my sin. God is real, and he is calling you!

So I'm going alone on a journey, backpacking. Hitch-hiking. Starting in Germany.
I will go whereever God will lead me.
I'm traveling away from society, to connect with God. I'm bringing my bible with me.
I wish i could travel with nothing, but i cant in reality. I have this so far,
2 t shirt, 2 nice shirts, 1 sweatshirts. Rain jacket, rain pants. Extra shoes. Towel. 1 Jeans, 1 sweat pants, 1 shorts. Passport, wallet. Travel documents. Some food like, raisins, snickers bar, minestrone soup. Lighter. iPod Charger. Old Nokia phone. Earplugs. Bible.
That's basically it.
Do you have any suggestions what i could bring more? Or what you think could be good?
I'm having very few money, basically just in case if I'm starving..

I will probably sleep on a bench on a park, or under a bridge, cause I dont have enough money to sleep on motels or anything.
But I dont know what God has for me. Could you pray for me please?

A GPS and survival mirror and something to signal with at night.

If lions and taggers and bears bother you just remember that God said we are over all the animals so just tell them to move alone in the Name of Jesus the Christ. It works I spent many a days and nights in places that looked scary both in the Army and out and never had a problem.

We are in are third retirement home since 2003 and two times I had to tell the ants to leave the second time must have been new ones that did not talk the first ones.

Remember the Bible story about camping for a long time you are kind of following in the Bible steps so have fun and be careful at all times, do not temps God.

Mac.

You are on the right track, though.
Forgive me for my trespasses, I am not judging anyone, according to the Bible Only Jesus Christ has the true authority to Judge another.

Destination - God

The diplomatic approach?

Or one just knows?

The search for God and Christendom as a whole is like being on a road which one might think is a good starting point? On the journey one might perhaps wonder if this is the right road to be on?, am I heading in the right direction?, should I be left of centre?, should I go back?, bit of a dilemma. A little further on I reach Christendom's crossroad, I stop, I notice four signposts, the signs on each post are the shape of arrows, written on each sign is this way, I think to myself, now, which road do I take?, then, and all of a sudden I hear voices say 'The One With Tarmac on it'.

Hope's road, I hope it's the right one?

You are very young and as one said, there are many places you can go and not have to go without. You could just get yourself a campsite somewhere near where you live now; you can hear from God no matter where you are.

When you say the word "mass" it makes me think you might attend a Catholic church. If that is the case, then I strongly caution you to steer clear of Catholic Churches. They really do not follow the Bible (Even though they proclaim that they do). They believe in praying to the dead by praying to Mary and the saints. The Bible condemns necromancy or in trying to contact or communicate with the dead. Also, in the Catholic church, they bow down to idols or statues of Mary. They say they are not really worshiping the statue and it is merely a reminder, but if you were to look at photos online, that is precisely what you will see them doing. You can see many of their knees in bowing to statues of Mary. This is wrong. In the Bible, Daniel's friends had refused to bow down to a statue that the King had made of himself. They were willing to die for that belief. Also, Jesus said look out for the Scribes who like to appear in long robes so as to be seen by others. Meaning, anyone who strives to appear outwardly religious in the way that they dress so as to be seen by others is false. One is not holy by what they wear. One is holy by God working in their life after they are born again spiritually (after they repent of their sins and accept Jesus as their Savior).

The God Delusion, by Prof Richard Dawkins?
You have everything to lose and nothing to gain by not believing. Sure, the temporary pleasures and pursuits of this life might comfort you, but they pale in comparison to having the love of God and His goodness within your life (If you so choose to accept it).

I think it's awesome that you want to seek God with all your heart and go anywhere He leads you, whether that is to experience homelessness or whether that is to work in a place with wealth and still remain a Godly man. It's awesome to see the world when you're young and single, i wish i had been brave enough! usually you can't do that once you have family committments.

As for starving...if God has called you to do this, then I'm sure He will provide food and work for you. I've heard about people who travel and work wherever they stop for a few weeks or months.

My nephew did this (not as following God, just because he wanted to go experience the world). He went to a few places and then found a place he loves and stayed there for a few years! Now he has gone back to his hometown to visit his friends for awhile.

Seek God first and be sure He is calling you to do this...and then He will provide for you and protect you.

God bless your staying and your leaving!

But in addition be sure it is not just running away from your problems. God can lead you to learn and grow through whatever trials you are facing, whether you stay in the situation and fight to overcome or whether you go away to find peace. He can use whatever you choose, to help you grow, as long as you always remain willing to draw close to Him and seek Him with all your heart. A humble heart seeking to obey God is a beautiful thing :)

I do remember you.

I had people praying for me, even though I was apart from God's will, drinking, getting high, hitchhiking. I had plenty of good Christian friends praying for me, before I got into that car that changed my life, and when I told them what happened after that. After that was when it was time to go back into God's will -- rehab.

So, sure I can pray for you. Do you think I stopped? Granted hard to pray for a lost guy and his more lost gf in another country, but I pray. But you're still stepping outside God's will and the results won't be good. Those who prayed for me took three years to see how God would work it out in me. My story broke their hearts.

That car? That nice convertible? Those were the five dudes who raped me! That was two and a half years into lots of people praying for me.

You're doing the same damn thing I was doing! There are worse things than getting raped and you're headed right to them.

I will continue to pray, but you're ripping my heart out!

I think this is probably just what you need.

Nothing clears your head quite like starving.
You'll be just fine in no time.

: )
It's not so much the starving I'm worried about. It's those who use naive, unprepared people so easily.

It's not like my goal is to starve.
That's why I asked for prayer requests, cause i hope i dont get in that situation
And I hope the Phillies and Eagles will win their championships. I'm just not planning on living on false hope. Seriously, you're living in a fantasy world. What's this big plan? You're going to walk away? Two pair of shoes won't cut it. You're planning on hitchhiking? (Don't even need to explain where that goes wrong anymore. I'm a girl. I merely got raped. You're a guy. It's worse.)

All the Ten Booms, but Corrie, were killed in a concentration camp for doing God's will. (They were Christians.) It's not like doing God's will gives any guarantees of personal safety. Add to that, you know full well you're running from God's will, not into it! So pretend what you're taking is enough all you want, but you still will come face-to-face with God's real will.

apparently kedge is unsure of what he believes and this might be the closest thing

sadly @ 53 still hoping this song contains some sort of actual message
He's sure what he believes. That's why he comes to this site to play games.

I met a pastor that did just that. He hitch hiked and traveled all over Europe and stayed in a lot of hostels.
Because he planned better than this and had the money for the hostels.

I need to get away now.
And I know there is many camps and missions, but could i participate in them? Think about it. I have no money.
I would have to get a plane ticket AT LEAST right? Or pay money to spread God's work. It's not free.
I think alone traveling, will benefit me too. Being away from society.
Thank you for understanding.

Hi Jakob, just a point, you say you want to connect with God and go where
he wants you to go putting your trust in him.

But you don't trust enough to believe God will provide you with a plane ticket or money
and you have already ruled our the possibility yourself of looking into christian
mission work because of a lack of finances.

I wonder if you are doing this for yourself or because you feel led by God.
Is it possible you might be feeling depressed or are finding life challenging?

Its not unusual for young people to feel the need to 'find themselves' but
there are safer ways of doing this and experiencing new things.

A number of young people at our church have gone overseas to help on
projects such as building schools in Africa or building wells etc.

They all come back with a new appreciation for life and grow up so much
both in their maturity and in their faith.

WEC is one such organisation, I knew several people who work for WEC
full time. The link below brings up a short term mission filter where you select the
duration, the region and the work of interest to you.

WEC International :: ShortTermMissions.com

There will be many other such organisation if you check them out on line.

Don't do this as a way of escape, as wherever you go, you cannot escape yourself.
If you want to seek God there are safer ways to do this, are there any Christian retreats
for young people you can go to for example.

If you are already a Christian and want to serve God then you need to prayer about this
and look at the options available.

God bless and stay safe.

Yeah, it's the 'taggers' not so much the lions and bears :p
