The New Covenant does not start until Jesus died and rose from the dead. Judas was never born again and sealed with the Holy Spirit. Nobody in scripture was called a "Christian" until in Antioch, years after Jesus went to the Father.
Thanks grace that puts it in perspective..??????

A Christian can be defined as an insider.

†. Matt 13:10-11 . . And the disciples came and said to him: Why do You
speak to them in parables? And he answered and said to them: To you it has
been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them
it has not been granted.

Should all definitions of a Christian be allowed to stand, or should there be
just one?

Webster's defines a Christian as somebody who professes belief in the
teachings of Jesus Christ.

According to that definition; it isn't necessary to actually believe in Christ's
teachings in order to qualify as a Christian; it's only necessary to say you do.

You don't even have to know what Christ's teachings are; you only have to
say you believe in them.

Nor is it necessary to put Christ's teachings into practice in order to qualify
as a Christian; it's only necessary to say you believe in them.

There's a generous amount of leeway in Webster's definition. For example:
It allows for the Conquistadors to murder, plunder, and enslave Native
Americans back in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries and still be able to
speak of themselves as Christians.

Here is the definition...

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

A Christian is one that has the Holy Spirit dwelling in him.

You really need to stop quoting me because you are misrepresenting me again. The view I proposed teaches eternal security which just goes to show you are too ignorant to even read my posts, much less respond against them with any intelligent defense.

This is what my view teaches:

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— [SUP]9 [/SUP]not by works, so that no one can boast. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

This is what yours teaches:

4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

Stop quoting me unless you can show me the respect enough to even understand my view. Sick of being misrepresented by you and others.
All I did was quote you and post an article that asks questions.

A christian is someone in communion with the Father through the work of the Son.

We often think of faith as a series of concepts or ideas, beliefs rooted in scripture and taught through preachers, sermons, study, the Holy Spirit in our hearts.

But when it comes down to it, do we commune with God each day, bring Him into every conversation of situation we enter?

Often until you are there, things cannot be seen or responded to, and without the fellowship, often things go wrong. We are aware of it not going "right" but cannot put our finger on it.

A Christian is simply; a born again follower of Jesus Christ. One becomes born again through repentance and faith.

Repentance: A change of mind from believing one is good enough to earn salvation through their own merits, to believing there is nothing one can do but throw themselves upon the mercy of Christ through His finished work on the cross.

Faith: Trust that Jesus died and rose from the dead to pay for your sins completely, and for all time. His righteousness credited to your account via the shedding of His Holy blood.

A christian loves God with all his heart, soul and strength. A christian loves his neighbour as he loves himself.
A christian follows Jesus and obeys his commandments. A christian is in the Kingdom of God.

A christian is being transformed from one state of glory into the next.
A christian knows how to follow the Spirit and walk in love.

Jesus bought them into the kingdom and gave them the power to overcome sin and walk in the light.
