Demons and electronics.

I love how in the midst of talking about prayer you have to throw in this line.. "While this long haired, left over from wood stock". Has no relevance to the story, just reeks of judgment and looking down on someone.

They could have ministered to the man. also never no when we are entertaining angels unaware, and they could look like that. Jesus said not to judge the appearance. As for the amp,i don't know if it was a demon, but i had a stereo that
would not work and my friend prayed over it and it started working

Anyway, I remember a while ago a mates car wouldn't start and we needed to get somewhere, after a while of it trying to turn over one of us finally said, let's just pray over it so we did. The next turn of the key it started without an issue *shrugs* Praise God anyway.

Also a mate who was staying at China smuggling Bibles said his wife lost her wallet and they prayed for God to help them find it, as they prayed it appeared in thin air and landed on their bed. Come on, our God is huge!

I'm sure there are other instances that I can't think of right now.

When Jesus cast out the demon it was from a possessed man - not an electrical appliance lol!
I see no reason for an electrical appliance to be possessed by any spirit as it would have no worth to the spirit.
Also, imagine everyone running around casting out demons from radios, microwaves, fridges and tvs etc HAHHAHAHA!!!

The closest thing I have seen to object possession is my stupid radio, it changes channels on its own. But if the op said the thing was possessed then since i wasnt there i can only take his word for it i cant dismiss it as false

I used to have a radio that would turn itself on in the middle of the night. Was it demon-possessed? Probably not, but it sure was loud!! I'm pretty sure it had a short in it somewhere. Probably your radio does also.

It's nuts to think that a demon can possess an electronic, but yet they possess statues of Buddha and such. I think that if a car or computer is being used to try and help someone, for example, if you're on the computer in here on CC praying for someone who is afflicted by demons, that demon will do ANYTHING to stop you!! It's happened to me more than once on here..My computer went wonky in the middle of a rebukal prayer and it shut down and I couldnt log back in to my computer, so I rebuked the demon away from my computer, said "God pls help me do your work on CC" and my computer started right back up!! So I logged back in on here and no more problems hit my computer that night. The same thing has happened a few times since, so I rebuked and prayed, and it was fine.

I agree with breno's response: our God is huge and there is nothing he cannot do.

I don't think demons can possess inanimate objects, it doesn't sound biblical, nor does it make sense. For something to be possessed it has to have a soul and spirit, or at least one of those (like the pigs). That said, maybe demons can influence objects and give them a certain power.

I don't doubt that evil spirits can (interfere) with electrical appliances etc although I see no reason for them to (possess) an object.

I feel they can definitely "travel" with objects etc as well.

True, but I definitely believe they can interfere with something's ability to work or not, like the example somebody gave of their car and my computer. The latter has happened to others on here--not only myself. The devil hates any good thing being done so if he can interrupt it or prevent it, he will use any means possible to do so.

Maybe the OP should have said "interfered with" rather than "possessed"..lol..because evil can definitely interfere with something being used for good and try to shut it down.

With that being said, here is something to ponder: people pray to the Buddha statue--they worship it and pray to it, etc. I have an article here at home, a true story actually because the person it happened to had a roomful of church witnesses. This man was in a foreign country and he entered a place where the Buddha statue was being prayed to and worshiped. He felt very uncomfortable and heard the lord telling him to pray for the blood of Jesus to cover that building. So the man obeyed and as he neared the statue, a demon jumped out and attacked him, cutting off his ability to breathe. All of a sudden the demon let go, and a man rushed up to him and said "I saw that demon attack you and we started praying". Why did the demon attack him? Because he was denying the statue his worship prayer to it, which infuriated the demon.


So now my question is, even if an object such as a statue is inanimate, can demons inhabit it for the purpose of being worshipped, as with the buddha statue?

I tend to see situations like the ones described above as less about demons possessing inanimate objects, and God giving me opportunities to test and refine my faith.

Do demons exist today and are active? Meh, perhaps.
But I'd rather focus on what God IS doing than what a demon MIGHT be doing.

I've been a Believer for almost 20 years and I haven't encountered one or have known anyone who legitimately has.

I'm willing to admit they probably exist, but I don't think they're very active, if at all, in God's Kingdom today. But I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I live within God's Kingdom and under His Kingdom, thus I haven't seen their existence, as well it should be for the rest of God's people.

Personally, and I know I'll probably get heat for this one, I think the idea of demons possessing, attacking, or affecting Christians is a cop-out or excuse for not overcoming and maturing in their faith. Just my thought though.

As always, I reserve the right to be taught different by God Himself, and of course I will humbly submit to whatever He teaches.

Not possessed, no, but certainly they can mess with inanimate objects and machinery etc, but I knew what the OP was on about! Not difficult to throw a spanner in the works or a stick in the spokes, so not difficult for the demonic to mess with stuff if they are able to.

It they can, inherently, so manipulate the material realm, why are they not using weapons to murder for Satan? Why does all the visible, material evil need man's hand in it? Why aren't they going around even blowing out the pilots of gas stoves and turning the gas on, for instance? If not this, why and how this purported power over somebody's hard drive?

Any "power" demons have is only that granted by God. Ultimately then, it is God's doing, not the demons.

On the negative side of the spectrum, when someone hurts someone else with a car, who do we attribute the damage to?
The car, or the person driving it?

If God allows the influence of demons, who do we give attribute it to? The demons, or God?

Exactly! My goodness. Why is it that more than half of the comments on here are dogging what this fellow is saying? It's a testimony, praise God! I'm not sure if demon's can actually be in objects but they can be all over it... Don't put God in a box. He fixed my washer that stopped working... we kept trying to turn it on and finally we laid hands on it and prayed. After praying, it turned on and has worked ever since. I've also laid hands on a car that had an alarm that would go off and not stop... and God fixed that. I give glory to God! That's my testimony No, I'm no better, I've done my share of judging so please don't take any of this the wrong way, who ever reads it. I'm aware that I'm unworthy and no better than any of you beautiful people... =)
