hey weakness.
the subject inevitably goes to "end-time" stuff, because dispensationalism skips over fulfilled prophecies and places them in the future.

this thread actually address the heart of the matter:

Who are the heirs of the promises?
http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/78632-who-heirs-promises.html
or we could look at it the other way (since we seem to be mocking each others belief system)

amills twist the unfulfilled prophesies and turn them into a mumble jumbled mess of allegory and spiritualism. and Cause God to go back on his own promises.

Well then you are wrong Starfield. Because the antichrist did not show up in 70 A.D.
You know, the word “antichrist” is only mentioned five times in scripture and that's in the first and second epistle of John. It is anyone who denies that Jesus is the Christ and that He came in the flesh. Never has “the antichrist” been used in any eschatological prophecy. It's not even in the book of Daniel or Revelation.

Neither was the mark of the Beast around.
So you're expecting a literal mark of the beast, eh?
FYI, the book of Revelation is highly figurative.

Wrong Sarah, I already showed you why the temple John sees in his vision is the one in the time of Jacob's trouble.

And I didn't give you circular reason either.

I have given you Scriptural proof that the temple John sees is the temple that is in Jerusalem during the time of Jacob's trouble.

The context is very clear Sarah. Stop the rejecting the obvious.
Sorry Chosen there not ONE thing in that verse that John says it a third temple built by human hands. You base it all on SPECULATION.

And that is why Daniel's 70th week has not taken place yet. But it will after the Rapture of the Body of Christ.
...and that’s fairy-tale. Nowhere in the bible suggests a rapture of the body of Christ before great tribulation as dispensational premillennism teaches. Another reason why…

How can you expect me to listen to you when you can not even get this right.

they asked three

1. When will these things happen
2. What are the signs of the end of the age]
3. What are the signs of your return.

it is easy.. If they knew christ would return, do you think they would set up to go to war with him? do you think they would do all the things jesus and john said they would be doing? He is talking about the world. not the church.

you did not answer any of my points. why is this?

again, your not going to get me to even consider your view of you can not get known things right, nor respond to my points and just make generalizations.

Sorry EG,

But I have been up since 1:30 AM. You mean to say you yourself have never done that?

As far as going any further it is quite clear that you NO intent of even listening so any more conversion between us is pointless and you have made quit clear.

um, you do know John tells us about "THE ANTICHRIST" or a person. and also speaks of many antichrists who were already among them.

Who is "THE ANTRICHRIST" of AD 70?

So you're expecting a literal mark of the beast, eh?
FYI, the book of Revelation is highly figurative.
You do understand ALL PROPHESY (OT and NT) uses figurative language to point to LITERAL things do you not?

The mark of the beast may be figurative, But the literal action of no one being able to purchase good or sell goods is literal. This did not happen in 70 ad even figuratively. so again, 70 AD is and must be ruled out.

Not all premills are pretrib. Yet another fact you do not comprehend.

Try getting your facts straight before you start judging people who do not believe as you do. when they do not even believe what you claim they believe.

Then explain why they did not see any abomination which causes desolation.

Your the one trying to force something. He is talking to all of us, and anyone who reads scripture.

Hebrews 1
1Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world

Hebrews 6
7For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. 8But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.

Hebrews 8
13In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 13
13So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. 14For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.

Galatians 4
24This is allegorically speaking, for these women are two covenants: one proceeding from Mount Sinai bearing children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar. 25Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. 26But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother

Sorry a bit a little edgy this morning. As for he mark of the beast that DID happen under Nero.

Verses 16-17: Selling and buying was limited only to those who bore the mark, i.e. “the name of the beast or the number of its name.” David Clark comments, “This was to boycott or ostracize the Christians, and deprive them of the common rights of citizens, or the common rights of humanity. The pressure of economic distress was to be laid on them to compel them to conform” (Steve Gregg, p. 304). David Chilton adds, “Similarly [the Jewish leaders] organized economic boycotts against those who refused to submit to Caesar as Lord, the leaders of the synagogues ‘forbidding all dealings with the excommunicated,’ and going as far as to put them to death.” [Here Chilton partially quotes from Austin Farrer in his 1964 work entitled The Revelation of St. John the Divine (p. 157).] Richard Anthony (2009) speaks further of the allegiance required by Nero during his lifetime:
All those under the jurisdiction of Rome were required by law to publicly proclaim their allegiance to Caesar by burning a pinch of incense and declaring, “Caesar is Lord”. Upon compliance with this law, the people were given a papyrus document called a “libellus”, which they were required to present when either stopped by the Roman police or attempting to engage in commerce in the Roman marketplace, increasing the difficulty of “buying or selling” without this mark (emphasis added).
In the first post for chapter 13 we also saw a quote from C. Marvin Pate and Calvin B. Haines Jr., from their 1995 book entitledDoomsday Delusions, in which they said,
Megalomaniac that he was, Nero had coins minted in which he was called “almighty God” and “Savior.” Nero’s portrait also appears on coins as the god Apollo playing a lyre. While earlier emperors were proclaimed deities upon their deaths, Nero abandons all reserve and demanded divine honors while still alive (as did also Caligula before him, AD 37-41). Those who worshipped the emperor received a certificate or mark of approval – charagma, the same word used in Revelation 13:16 [the famed mark of the beast.
In verse 16, were John’s original readers meant to understand that the followers of the beast would receive a literal and visible mark on their hands or forehead? If so, then the two quotes above lend credence to the idea that such a thing occurred in Nero’s day. Or did the language John used primarily hearken back to classic Old Testament metaphors of the hand representing one’s deeds and the forehead representing one’s thoughts? Perhaps this is a reference to Moses’ instructions to the people of Israel that they were to bind the words of God “as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes” (Deuteronomy 6:8). Only, in this case, the apostate followers of the beast would not be symbolically marked with the words of God, but with their allegiance to the one who stood opposed to God and His people.

[h=2]History[edit][/h]"Forty-six such certificates have been published, all dating from this same year [250 AD]."[SUP][2][/SUP] This particular year falls into the period of persecution under the emperor Decius. Four libelli were found among the thousands ofpapyri at the archaeological site near Oxyrhynchus in Egypt (POxy 658, POxy 1464, POxy 2990 and POxy 3929).
Participating in pagan sacrifices was a sin for Christians and punished by excommunication, because the New Testament forbade Christians to either participate in "idol feasts" or to eat "meat sacrificed to idols". However, not participating made one liable to arrest by the Roman authorities. A warrant to arrest a Christian (POxy 3035) was also found at Oxyrhynchus, this too has been dated precisely—to the year 256. The grounds for this arrest are not documented, however, and it predates the persecution under the emperor Valerian by about a year.
At various times under Roman rule, failure to sacrifice was punishable by death. Christian theologians (for example Cyprian) debated whether the threat of the death penalty mitigated the sin of having communion with idols, leaving room for forgiveness and restoration to the Christian community. The unresolved debate became moot when the emperor Constantine I became a Christian (early 4th century).

note.

1. It would be impossible to do what this claims to do worldwide, and also to every person.
2. The mere fact that one can not sell anything. would show that they have absolutely NO MEANS to have an income. the fact they can not have an income. means they have no money, even the income they would have, they could not use to purchase anything. meaning they would starve to death in a short time.

I love how people take something which appears to look like something, yet does not take the literal event into context.

here is a fact. Until the last few decades, with the advent of computors and computer banking. the mark of the beast was UNABLE to fulfilled.

Amazing, that people for many years had to look at these prophesies and say, there is no way they can be fulfilled. So we must allegorise them. How else could we take them?

yet today.

The world banking industry can control all the worlds finances.
mankind has created technology which has the power to "wipe all life" off the earth.

I can go on and on.

You still have not answered my questions concerning the signs. Why do you continue to ignore?

well, the thing is though, that we could post on what the Bible itself actually says was fulfilled...like this for example:

Zechariah 12
10"I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. 11"In that day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo

John 19:34
Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

John 19
Jesus' Side is Pierced
36For these things came to pass to fulfill the Scripture, "NOT A BONE OF HIM SHALL BE BROKEN." 37 And again another Scripture says, "THEY SHALL LOOK ON HIM WHOM THEY PIERCED."

It is cool info. The sad part is things much worst than this will happen to our family in the future. These things will be made to look like a picnic from the future events.

yet people are not being warned to be ready for them, they are sadly being told they will not happen. Since they already have been fulfilled

This is scary!

The problem is. Jeremiahs prophesy was never fulfilled.
okay:confused:

proofs.

[SUP]8 [/SUP]‘For it shall come to pass in that day,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘That I will break his yoke from your neck,

Never happend. Even when they returned, they were under the yoke of gentiles nations. The yoke was never broken.
EG: why do we keeping insisting Jesus was supposed to roar through the Land killing all the gentiles/smashing yokes?
or that every single person in the Israelite nation would be saved?

we know that was never promised.

anyway - about the yoke (of oppression; specifically Babylon, but all the way to and THROUGH Rome - are Christians FREE? or not?:) is their yoke Christ's? and is it easy and light?

Jesus said plainly:

Matthew 11
28"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS

Jeremiah 31
24"Judah and all its cities will dwell together in it, the farmer and they who go about with flocks. 25"For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes." 26At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me

Matthew 11:28
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Jeremiah 31
For I will turn their mourning into joy And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.

John 16:22
So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

John 20
19So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you." 20And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

not all Israel was saved, EG. that's all we have to accept.

And will burst your bonds; Foreigners shall no more enslave them.

Again, Never happened. They were still slaved of the medes, then the greeks, then the romans.
why do we think unregenerate Israel who rejected the promise is the focus of those prophecies?

Galatians 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

:)

Christ and what He brought is the the focus.
those who belong to Him are the focus.
the early Church was Israel. saved Israel.

not the apostates.
do ANY Promises of God apply to unbelievers?

Acts 15:10
Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?

[SUP]9 [/SUP]But they shall serve the Lord their God,
Romans 12
1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

1 Corinthians 6:20
you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

2 Corinthians 6
1And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain-- 2for He says, "AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU." Behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE TIME," behold, now is "THE DAY OF SALVATION "

Again, Not yet fulfilled. They never served God.
they didn't?
who didn't? the apostates who were destroyed and cast off?
no, i guess they didn't.....they abused His SERVANTS.

Matthew 21
The Parable of the Tenants
33“Hear another parable. There was a master of a house who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a winepress in it and built a tower and leased it to tenants, and went into another country. 34When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servantsc to the tenants to get his fruit. 35And the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. 36Again he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them. 37Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’ 39And they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” 41They said to him, “He will put those wretches to a miserable death and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”

42Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:

“‘The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;d
this was the Lord’s doing,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

43Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits. 44And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and when it falls on anyone, it will crush him.”e

45When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking about them. 46And although they were seeking to arrest him, they feared the crowds, because they held him to be a prophet.

did any of Israel serve Him?

John 15
12“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15No longer do I call you servants,a for the servantb does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

John 17:8
For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

John 21
16He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Shepherd My sheep." 17He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Tend My sheep.

the end of their sin had not yet been complete.
whose sin? the ones who rejected the only sacrifice they had?
the only means of forgiveness (and end) of their sin?

i guess.....that's what Jesus warned them about.

John 8:24
I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins."

but some were forgiven, and their sin taken away, right?

Luke 24
46and He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48"You are witnesses of these things.

2 Corinthians 5
20Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

They still played the harlot and served the created, not the creator (a false religion based on works, not faith)
it's true most did. unfortunately.

Jeremiah 23:14
And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: They commit adultery and live a lie. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that not one of them turns from their wickedness. They are all like Sodom to me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah."

Ezekiel 16:46
Your older sister was Samaria, who lived to the north of you with her daughters; and your younger sister, who lived to the south of you with her daughters, was Sodom.

Revelation 11
Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city--which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt--where also their Lord was crucified.

Revelation 17
4The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, 5and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, "BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." 6And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered greatly.

but not all - there was always a remnant:

Isaiah 1:9
Unless the LORD Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.

Romans 11
In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God's gracious choice.

And David their king, Whom I will raise up for them.

Self explanatory. Their king was the gentiles puppet kings placed over them
David, their King there is Jesus.

Matthew 2:2
and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him."

Luke 1:69
He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David

Acts 2
29"Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30"And so, because he was a prophet and knew that GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH TO SEAT one OF HIS DESCENDANTS ON HIS THRONE, 31he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that HE WAS NEITHER ABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His flesh SUFFER DECAY

Acts 13:23
"From this man's descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as he promised.

Acts 13:34
God raised him from the dead so that he will never be subject to decay. As God has said, "'I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.'

[SUP]10 [/SUP]‘Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,’ says the Lord, ‘Nor be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet, And no one shall make him afraid.
John 12:13
They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the king of Israel!"

John 12
14Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, 15"FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY'S COLT." 16These things His disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things to Him

Again, Never happened. Israel has lived in fear since daniels time. And have never had peace.
should people who reject the Savior feel peace?

any? should Muslims feel peace with God as they reject Jesus? Hindus?

the Israelites who received Him had peace.
don't you have peace?

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 16
33"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."

[SUP]11 [/SUP]For I am with you,’ says the Lord, ‘to save you; Though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you,

The gentiles nations )kingdoms) have not been completely destroyed. According to john. this does not happen until right before Christs return
EG - is God planning to destroy all the gentiles in the world, for israel in the Middle east?

where did such an idea come from?
Jesus said go and make disciples, not corpses.

people will be condemned at the Judgment because they rejected the Son of God.

all the kingdoms on the Metal Man in Daniel crumbled and fell. including Imperial Rome.
those who rejected Jesus may not be free....but what has that to do with what the Bible says?

[SUP]11 [/SUP]For I am with you,’ says the Lord, ‘to save you; Though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you,
Hebrews 13
5Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU," 6so that we confidently say, "THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?"

Matthew 28
19"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

It is cool info. The sad part is things much worst than this will happen to our family in the future. These things will be made to look like a picnic from the future events.

yet people are not being warned to be ready for them, they are sadly being told they will not happen. Since they already have been fulfilled

This is scary!
but....you've said the past those things were only about Daniel's people...not the church?

anyways...lunchtime for breakfast - up too early.

...and that’s fairy-tale. Nowhere in the bible suggests a rapture of the body of Christ before great tribulation as dispensational premillennism teaches. Another reason why…

No Starfield, it is NOT a fairytale. Only in your mind, since you probably want it to be.

The Holy Bible does teach that there will be a rapture of the Body of Christ before Daniel's 70th week. The Pre-trib. Rapture is Bible Doctrine.

And whether you accept that or not, doesn't change the facts. If you are saved, then when the Rapture happens. You're going up, like it or not.

I know a lot of you post tribbers want to show how tough you are and how you want to fight the new world order, but guess what? If you are saved, then you won't be here for the time of Jacob's trouble. Every Christian has an appointment at the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Cor. 5:10).

Study your Bible more Starfield.

Nope. John tells us that will be worldwide in scope. Along with Daniel. as the final beast will control every nation tribe and tongue. Not just some part of the middle east and europe that the first roman empire held.
