Numbers are just that, numbers, words are just that words... I'm not going to start adding things for my own liking, if it's not there and He didn't say do it, then I'm not, as for 12 tribes... That's how many tribes there were no more no less, it's simple, God is not one of confusion..

You are still ignoring it.

40 days. Noah went thru a trial in the ark 40 days. Yes or no?
40 days. Jesus fasted and was tempted (I.e. a trial) for 40 days. Yes or no?

Yes, he did, and..... What else does that "mean to you" other then a literal description of what happened?

Do you think God really meant words for numbers? The whole Bible all numbers... No words of God? The parables were meant to be set in numbers and added ? Com'on brother, you should no better, our God is not a deceptive one, He does not tell us one thing and mean another, He meant what He said...

No one wants to talk about John Dee though "the mathematician" if that was the case... Dee would have found God... He didn't!!He found the other one... He found darkness is what he got, being smart to numbers I will assure all, they will not go to heaven.Only through Gods word, Jesus Christ, living and walking the thin line, nothing else, just what He said.

other examples of 40

40 days from conception to initial formation of the fetus
40 weeks of gestation until birth

(and though I am sure there is argument), 40 years of age before a man develops insight

LoL...I find it funny how everyone's dancing around the topic of John Dee "the math man". Stop it already, deep down y'all know Gods words are just that, His words, plenty of people are in heaven right now, never learned to count, this is just silly.

40 points to Jesus like all numbers in the Bible. We go thru trials as believers because Christ went thru trials. We are to pick up our cross and follow Him. We are to conform to the image of Christ. Jesus obeyed God the Father. Noah obeyed God. Both men went thru a test of 40 days which showed love. For to love is of God because God is love.

Everything that was said, and you get 40 ... Out of all the Bible, everything that said, the words of life, and all you got was 40 points to Jesus, I'm disappointed as I believe Jesus would be Jason, I'm sorry I ever started a Bible study, because I can't go on with it, knowing what your getting out, and this one thing, is a BIG thing, this isn't just a misunderstanding of a verse, but a change to the whole Holy Bible, and I cannot allow that, and say it's ok, because that is the opposite of ok, that's bad, why would you want to play with math and these things when you know it can lead to talking with false spirits, astrology, math, and so forth...don't you know none of it matters, we are not of this world, we're in it.

John Dee straddled the worlds of science and magic. Math is not magic. Numbers are not magic. I don't follow numbers to guide my life. I don't look for numbers in my every day life. I seek Jesus' desires and commands. I pray to Jesus. Not some Bible Number. But you can't escape it. Numbers are in the Bible. You can't eliminate them just because you don't like the idea that they have a meaning. You are trying to say that Revelation 13:18 is an exception to the rule of a number having a meaning. But where does the Bible say that? Where does the Bible forbid in finding meaningful parallels within the Bible involving the numbers that it provides? Do you think it is coincidence that many of the numbers in the Bible have a repeatable meaning?

why is this so important to you? How did these numbers change your life, I would love to know? What meaning are you getting, you keep going on about it but have came to no conclusions, even for the verse it's describing...who's the beast? You counted...you must have the wisdom, so who? Your getting nothing and saving or helping no one with this.

He straddled? This guy was a secret agent for the queen, where we get "007" ..this guys life was math, how did he straddle? Matter a fact, I think he still holds the biggest library in England today, so what are you saying he didn't know math or science?

You can't allow it. God's Word does not say anthing to support you on this matter. Please show me a verse that would support your viewpoint here.

I believe you are letting your emotions influence you. You knew full well I supported Biblical Numerics in my study. Why are you compromising now?

Also, where did I ever say "forty" was the only word that points to Jesus Christ? How can you even say that after the study we have done together? I believe you are letting your hatred for a teaching you don't understand in God's Word to blind you here, my friend.

Stop.

What do you think I believe Bible Numbers are for?

Do I look to astrology or numbers to figure out the future? No.
Do I recite numbers to draw closer to God? No.
Am I tempted in any way to start dabbling in "Traditional Numerology"? No.
Why? Because people who dabble in Traditional Numerology and it's magical arts don't know Jesus Christ.

The numbers in the Bible are not above Jesus Christ because they point to Him.

Okay, you are lashing out and not making any sense here. I will pray for you in the hopes that you will see where I am coming from. May the Lord Jesus Christ and His love shine upon you, my friend. For I am wishing you nothing but good things from Him to you. I think it is best we agree to disagree. I am not sure I can show you what is in God's Word unless you are open to actually seeing it.

Anyways, may God bless you.

Edit Correction: I meant, why were you willing to compromise then?

I believe your anger has clouded your judgment, my friend. But I want you to only have love. The love of Jesus Christ whereby you will uplift all things so as to give Him all the glory.

I believe this is a very serious charge believers are making against other believers. Does anyone even have a verse that supports the ignoring of repeated meanings from Numbers in the Bible? Or does one have to Google search for it (Hoping to find it)?

I've quoted many verses to show the contrary, go back over the thread Jason, you just don't want to hear it, and I can't help that. As I stated I did see you use numbers a lot and didn't want to say anything until you kept on. If you want to live out life trying to prove numbers to save lives, your in it deep. The Holy Spirit wrote words for a reason, there's thousands and thousands of words, your rejecting to prove God is numbers... Yes He created all of it, for Him, and His Glory, He created the adversary to fight, for His Glory, doesn't mean go follow the adversary because God made it... Do you think I got where I am, because of a number? I'm sorry, but your mistaken, I got here, from writing Gods words on my heart. It's simple, God is simple, doing the right thing is simple, we make it hard, the flesh, the mind, our will, makes it hard, I will pray for you Jason, for it looks like your following down the path of many, and I hope one day soon, God will show you otherwise, because my words are falling on deaf ears...

If it's not to draw closer to the Almighty... Why do it?

God is simple but He also is more larger and infinite in knowledge than we can imagine. Get hides understanding from people within His Word who are either unbelievers or who are in doubt about a certain parts of His Word.

I believe you are mistaken because you offer no verse to support your position (unlike I have done). I believe you are mistaken because you ignore obvious repeated meaning tied to a number in the Bible that points to Jesus Christ (Like with the number 40).
