No,Im sorry. I took what you said the wrong way. I know in my heart what happened. When people attack, not meaning you,and say an evil spirit touched her to me that is crass. I took what you said the wrong way and I apologize sister.
I'm sorry Kaylagrl, I should have remembered not everyone has my sense of humor on these forums. I tend to find humor in people who are so super religious they miss out on miracles like the kind you shared that your Aunt experienced. Don't stop sharing about the great things the Lord has done. :D

Didn't you say you were a former pastor?

Rom 12:1
New International Version
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship.

New Living Translation
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

English Standard Version
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Berean Study Bible
Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

New American Standard Bible
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

How is it you do not know this?
That does not teach falling backwards as a way of presenting your bodies as a living sacrifice.

If this be true of tongues misusage in church...

1 Corinthians 14:
[SUP]23 [/SUP]If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

All the more is falling down backwards will be adding to the confusion and the appearance of madness. Why would God call those to avoid the appearance of madness, perform madness as well?

Answer; since God is not a hypocrite, He will not and so that madness of being drunk in the Spirit is not of Him at all.

Most of us Christians do not know the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Once we learn about His ministry to the believer we are empowered by faith and those living waters will flow. Jesus spoke about the Holy Spirit He was sending when He left the disciples and promised to return. He said He would not leave us alone. Step out of "religion" and dare to read the Bible asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the Word to you and His ministry to you while you are here on earth.

You don't have to be Pentecostal, charismatic, Word Faith or follow "he who shall not be named" on CC to know the ministry of the Spirit! In fact, I was taught that in non-charismatic churches, that no one knew about the Holy Spirit.

When God led me to a Baptist Church, one of the first weeks there, the pastor starting teaching from the Bible of how the Holy Spirit is working in our lives, and how he is in the transformation business. I remember being stunned, because I had been told these sorts of churches had NO Holy Spirit. I mentioned this to the pastor's wife at a prayer meeting, and she laughed, and said, no, Baptists rely on the Holy Spirit and need him as much as anyone.

The Holy Spirit has been with me since the day I was saved. I have heard his voice, seen visions, and had the Spirit illuminate the Word of God. So, maybe on the Day of Pentecost, things had to be done differently, but since that day, when we are saved, it means the Holy Spirit is in our hearts and directing us all the time from the day we are born again. Because how could we be saved, without the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us? It would be like having been "born" and having no mother to care for you.

The Holy Spirit cares for us, like a mother cares for her child! God does not leave us alone, and that is from Day 1. If we don't choose to access the Holy Spirit in our lives, well that is on us!

Ive been to Baptist churches that believed in speaking in tongues.Pentecostals certainly dont have a corner on the Spirit, they just may be more open to the moving.

No,what you said is not true. As I said,I grew up in the Pentecostal church,I traveled in ministry in churches. Now if you attended an independent church they do what ever they see fit,no one holds them responsible if they go out in left field. But mainstream Pentecostal churches? No. As I said, they put Hinn out of the church because of his nonsense.

If being drunk in the spirit's a good thing, is getting high in the spirit something to be frowned on ? Who wants to smoke a spliff and rejoice with me ?

I can't say I understand this drunk in the Spirit thing since to me., drunk means a negative. But I'm aware we shouldn't tell another believer how they should experience their faith. We are not privy to their heart or their experiences. Most often people can over emotionalize or under emotionalize. We are not perfect and we are still being worked on.

I'm reminded of how the Holy Spirit used the different personality traits of the holy men of God "spake" as they were moved by the Holy Spirit and used to write the Scriptures. So how that works is an amazing and mysterious thing. Luke being a doctor and David being a shepherd and later a man of war. Each of the men who wrote the Bible as the Spirit moved them had unique personalities and each were brought to the table sort of speak yet the truth 100% came out.

So to my way of looking at these differences we can't dictate to another how they should feel or how they worship. In Christ there is liberty and we each have to be convinced in our own hearts and minds. We each have to be strong enough in our faith to be able to stand in the face of such negativity but not be accusatory to our brethren. Which as we each can attest., is not easy to do on this forum sometimes.

I have attended many AOG churches, and they are not as extreme, however the same false Pentecostal ideas are taught there also. I was reading in a AOG publication where they were describing what they called extra biblical manifestations of the spirit. Think, if the manifestations are extra biblical(not in the bible) then WHY are people calling then manifestations of the Spirit? My major beef with Pentecostals is that they are often calling false spirits the Holy Spirit.

****on the Day of Pentecost the disciples were accused of being drunk----but they were not drunk as supposed----they were filled with "new wine"-----we all have experienced the joy of the Lord if we are saved----the purpose of getting filled---or emboldened by the Spirit is to be a witness (Acts 4:31)----in this experience the place was shaken---it is evident from the Book of Acts that when the Holy Spirit came at times it brought dramatics----the bottom line today is to follow up with reaching our generation with the Gospel----if people just focus on feeling good, or manifestations---then I believe we need to obey the Scriptures---Acts 1:8---power comes and we become witnesses...

No,Petecostalism would not say she was healed because she danced and that is not what I said. Unless you are confusing oneness Pentecostals which are believe you must speak in tongues to be saved. They are their own denomination and nothing to do with mainstream Pentecostals such as AofG.
Yep,bottom line they are tell Micheal Jordon how to play basketball, and at the same time saying dribbling was done away with 50 years ago. ...having never set foot on a Cort.
They have zero clue what they are talking about.
Dave Wilkerson launched his ministry off speaking in tongues(praying in the spirit)

Now lets hear the Pharisees accuse him of being demonic

I have attended all my life and ministered in AofG churches for years. They do not preach or teach false doctrine. You are bearing false witness.

Quote "where they were describing what they called extra biblical manifestations of the spirit."

No,AofG does not believe in extra Biblical teachings, you can lose your licence for that. That is why Benny Hinn was forced to leave. He was asked to stop seeing mists and the like and he stopped for a while and then got into the same foolishness. He was put out of the Assemblies for that reason.

If you're talking independent churches then that may be the case.In those churches, what the pastor says goes and there is no accountability. But that is not true in the mainstream churches. You are bearing false witness.

Check out the OP, because that is what this thread is about. You refer to that verse as if it applies to the OP? Then it has to be reproved as having nothing to do with the OP.

How about this AOG?

http://agchurches.org/Sitefiles/Default/RSS/IValue/Resources/Holy%20Spirit/Outlines/PentecostInvitation.pdf

2. What is the evidence of the Spirit-filled life? In the pattern of the Book of Acts, it is clear that the coming of the Spirit was marked with a clear physical sign — the presence of tongues. However, tongues was meant only as a convincing first physical sign. The fruit of the Spirit is the continuous evidence of the Spirit’s work.

3. If the fruit of the Spirit is not apparent, is that person Spirit-filled? No. He perhaps once was, but in no way does that experience hold true today if it is not renewed and lived out on a continuous basis.
TONGUES never supposed to serve as a sign as proof to the Holy Spirit that they have the Holy Spirit.

AOG just supported the false teaching that if new believers do not speak in tongues as evidence of receiving initially the Holy Spirit, then they do not have the Holy Spirit and thus they are not saved.

1 Corinthians 14:[SUP]20 [/SUP]Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.[SUP]21 [/SUP]In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.[SUP]22 [/SUP]Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

So AOG just gave a false witness about tongues serving as a sign to new believers. That makes saved believers worried and so they move away from their rest in Jesus Christ to chasing after the Holy Spirit for a sign of tongues which never comes with interpretation as if God did not give Him by promise to those that believe in Jesus Christ.

So how can that not be seen as teaching extraBiblical doctrines that moves believers away from resting in Jesus Christ that they are filled & thus saved to another gospel?

**** this was a true Move of God with many salvations...

you can repent all you want, good thing gal 5v 1-4
strange , you already show, it is your own failings , and your own interpretation, that you chose to go against, correct interpretation of scripture.

Acts 4:23 ...and went to their own company (brethren) and reported what was said to them

31 ...and when they prayed...they were all filled with the Holy Ghost...

Uh,I thought all that happened at water baptism.

They must not have had ya'lls expert conjecture available at that time to prove that demons actually entered them.
