If that is the case, then God would have seen, in advance, two things that he regretted doing.

Genesis 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

1 Samuel 15:11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
Those dynamics do Not point to who he is or his character,or power.

They point to how HE CHOOSES to deal with us humanoids.

BELIEVER: Our eternal God is also a personal God. He has conscious preferences and behaves intelligently to bring about what he prefers. God thinks, calculates, plans, chooses and imagines.

TALISHI: Planning things and bringing them about requires that God exists in the present like we do, at a certain point of time that advances. There is a past, a present, and a future to a God who chooses and imagines. A being who experiences time divided in this way, from inside rather than outside, is not eternal. Such a deity takes life one day at a time, like we do, rather than takes in the entire panoply of history in a single glance.

BELIEVER: studies the scriptures and understands that the gospels are not identical but researches the supposed conflicts

TALISHI: Atheist, wants to discredit the Bible and hopes to unseat the belief of Christians here with her sarcastic threads and supposed wit. Does not want to actually discuss faith because she has none

yet, God says if your hear his voice, do not harden your heart

the book of Revelation describes a scene wherein people KNOW God exists yet they still choose to hate Him

so, again, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart

this is no joke...literally life or death

Is that something you wish would come to be?
I personally hope they let you stay. At least for a while.

You are smart. I caught that right away.

You appear to be agnostic. But I don't know.

What they may sanction you for is PROMOTION of false doctrine, concerning salvation.

let's get it out there

the following is from a blog post on this site by the op

1. The Bible is the inerrant Word of God

2. The Old Testament doesn’t apply anymore, except for some parts like the ones condemning homosexuals or calling for a death penalty.

3. Only the New Testament applies, except for the parts we ignore, like when Jesus forbids remarriage, because Brother Rush and Brother Newt with their third wives are godly men. Also the part when Jesus said set aside all your possessions before following him is communistic. We’ll determine which ones don’t apply anymore and get back to you.

4. Some parts of the Bible are to interpreted literally, like when the Earth was created in six days, or all human beings are traced back to just two individuals, and other parts are metaphor, like when the Bible says the heaven is a solid dome over the Earth. You just shut up and tithe, we’ll decide.

5. When parts of the Bible contradict science, or other parts of the Bible, or would be illegal to carry out like killing witches, they are definitely a metaphor for something. We’ll get back to you on those.

6. The entire Bible is divinely inspired by God, however. That’s the important thing to take away.

read that...understand why she writes as she does

do I oppose atheists' on this site? or people who are searching? no

however, this op is attempting a systematic rebuttal of the Bible for personal reasons

have any of you ever been to an Atheist site or an ex-Christian site?

you have no idea of the scorn for believers that goes on there if you haven't

well, what else could you expect someone might say...and that's right...that's so

but consider the spirit behind this type of posting

Which ones do you say I broke, that I may amend my actions?
From chat rules...you can read the rest yourself from the main page

1. Nothing anti-Christian, or inappropriate for a Christian chat room or forum.

please do not engage in any blasphemous, profane, or improper talk, or any talk that is offensive to our Christian community.

2. No conduct that is offensive or counterproductive to fellowship.

We like to welcome all to Christian Chat, but if anyone is not here for fellowship (or for wanting to know about Christianity), but simply for disrupting fellowship, offending people, whatever, then that person is not welcome.

For to us {Christians} God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,
which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one.
For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Cor 2:10-16)

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!
For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, OR WHO BECAME HIS COUNSELOR?
Or WHO HAS FIRST GIVEN TO HIM THAT IT MIGHT BE PAID BACK TO HIM AGAIN?
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. (Rom 11:33-36)

repent and believe the Gospel, Ruby, if peradventure God will grant it.

She is not agnostic.

Her post is not an attack upon Christianity but upon God.

I have met agnostic and atheist...there is a big difference.

It's built into the language. You plan for things that do not yet exist. Bringing them about is the act of making them be.
For us, in our realm. That does not prove that God has it the same way.

Until you can prove your claims, your conclusions are not bounding.

Because the Scriptures are so contradictory about the "most pivotal event in human history" that the resurrection must have been an invention. One example:

Q. Where did the risen Jesus first meet the disciples?

Matthew: On a mountain in Galilee.

Mark: To the Eleven at a meal in the Upper Room.

Luke: Emmaus, a village near Jerusalem.

John: To the Ten in in the Upper Room.
Talishi I encourage you to read the whole first chapter of Acts. It shows in verses one thru three that Jesus was here forty days after his resurrection and then taken back up. That is plenty of time to do all four events recorded in the Gospels. I hope this gives you faith in Lord Jesus and see His word is true.

Acts 1:1-3 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

it is kind of the believers to encourage Talishi to read the Scriptures, and perhaps the Lord will use them in love to her.

but at this moment, she cannot understand them because she will not submit to them.

i pray for you, Ruby.

Dear Heavenly Father

we agree in Jesus name for Ruby..that you would soften her heart towards you

we pray that you would remove the scales from her eyes and help her to understand your love for her

we reject and break the power of eastern religions over her mind and soul and pray for your mercy for her life

we praise and thank you for your Spirit and all that you are and we pray we might share the love of Christ with Ruby as that is Your desire and will for each of us

in Christ's name

Many of us are orphans. The human spirit is starving. The relief and satisfaction is what Jesus calls the bread if life. That is the magnet to the human spirit.

Where does the book w/o the spirit take us? Into a religious desert.

Does she believe in Eastern religions?

Definitely not a Hindui, Taoist or Buddhist.

Seems standard secular atheist.

Then blame Jesus.

He used "water" with the woman at the well.

Was that in your mental workbook?

" how does that help"... I trust Jesus to help, not some crafty wit from my mind.

Well we can agree on one thing and that it's better to trust Jesus to help.

For nearly every post I make, I cite scripture to support my point, this being the Bible Discussion forum. If that is what you are calling "anti-Christian" or "disrupting fellowship" then there is indeed a problem, in that the forum is mis-named.

Like your mocking of Jesus for making His own whip when He cleared the temple?

Do you want my favorite color? Shoe size? Covergirl lipstick number? Right-handed or left-handed? What gender makes my tail wag faster? Or do we discuss scripture instead?
