Sheol is synonymous with Hades, i.e. they are the same place, Sheol being in Hebrew and Hades being the Greek.

86 hádēs (from 1 /A "not" and idein/eidō, "see") – properly, the "unseen place," referring to the (invisible) realm in which all the unrighteous dead reside, i.e. the present dwelling place of all the departed (deceased); Hades.

I did a study some time agao and created a document on everywhere the word Sheol and Hades were used with all of its characteristics which is listed below:

Characteristics of:

· Is down under the earth - Gen.37:35, 42:38, 44:29, 44::31, Num.16:30, 16:33, Deut.32:22, 1 Sam.2:6, 2 kings 2:6, Job 11:7-8, 17:16, Ps.30:3, 86:13, Prov.9:18, 15:24, Isa.5:14, 14:9, 14:11, 14:15, Isa.38:18, Ezk.31:15-17, Ezk.32:21, Ezk.32:27, Mt.11:23, Lk.10:15,

· Has multiple levels - Deut.32:22, Job 11:7-8,

· Referred to as the pit - Job 17:13, Ps.30:3, Prov.1:12, Isa.14:15, Isa.38:18, Ezk.31:15-17

· Has Chambers - Prov.7:27

· Has Gates/Bars - Job 17:16, Isa.38:10, Mt.16:18

· A place of torment in fire – Lk.16:23-24

· Is a literal entity representing the same location – Rev.6:8, 20:14

Sheol (sheh-ole') The underworld (place to which the spirits of people descend at death)
Hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranean retreat), including its accessories and inmates -- grave, hell, pit.

Hades
(
hah'-dace) The unseen world:
hádēs (from 1 /A "not" and idein/eidō, "see") – properly, the "unseen place," referring to the (invisible) realm in which the unrighteous dead reside, i.e. the present dwelling place of all the departed (deceased); Hades.

I'm not disgruntled I was telling where you should look if you were wondering the location of Hades rather than what it is. One thing I like about debating the elderly is getting to enjoy the dated 60's wacky races references.

Ok the first one I assume is one flew over the coockoos nest, but I thought jack looked different in that one. Very 60's though. Ricky is "new age" Captian Picard is so 90's with that Next gen trek, and SNL and baby vids are so millennial.

by 60's I mean 1960's. Any young twerp can send me a modern GIF, it's "the greatest generation" that digs deep for the Jack Nicholson and Wacky Races ones.

Obama worships Lucifer, and the animal ones are OK, but I prefer GIFS centered around not trusting people over 30.

It is generally accepted that Jesus was thirty when He began His ministry...

lol well you got me there, but Christ is usually the exception that proves the rule in most cases. Only God is good, but Jesus is Good. You can't trust anyone over 30, but you can trust in God and his age is eternal.

I guess young pckets will have to picket Paul's writings..

Phm 1:9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

Depends on which reality itself you are trying to apply it to. On the "Flat Earth Theory" and accompanying models such a thing as Hades wouldn't seem so out of the ordinary or impossible. With the accepted Globe Earth model you could have Hades in the "hot core" area, but aren't all planets suppose to have hot cores and all that?

"Sheol" is the Hebrew word for Hades according to Google.
Ok On a flat Earth Where would the bottomless pit be? Do they that are in the bottomless pit just fall out of the bottom of hte Earth and keep on going...Or do they land on the elephants back? The elephants that holds up the Earth while standing on the back of that huge turtle...BTW What is the turtle standing on? And who cleans up all the elephant droppings?

The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death
That just means being separated from God will be put away from God's Kingdom... it will be in eternal torment along with everything else and anybody else that opposed God.

God defined what death is in the garden with Adam... turns out, it is being separated from God.

satan has been separated from God and God made a place of eternal fire for him and since the Kingdom of God works on seedtime and harvest (everything produces after it's own kind)... those that are not under the Lordship of Jesus, will be under the lordship of satan and will get satan's reward.

Eternal fire!
