LUKE 20:46-47..
Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
Which devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

MATT. 23:5.
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge
the borders of their garments,...

the point is, that any 'work or show' that we do to be seen of men, according to God, -
such as the 'way we dress, it can be 'evil or it can be good'....

for myself, even at my age, I am constantly looked at and challenged in a lustful way -
so, it is my duty to 'dress modestly because the last thing I want to do is draw attention
to my body instead of my Spirit...

I agree...God's favor needs no defence; however I am weary of defending what is actually being said as compared to what certain members here say is being said

over and over and over, people have stated no one here believes you just go on sinning

yet, that is what some people are saying. it is like they enjoy their little monologues in which they disparage others to the point of actually lying

and yes, prayerfully, but I do not like pretense and just constantly twisting what is said needs to be addressed

of course we cannot live a sinless life. however, that does not mean we or I or anyone that I can tell, believes you can sin and then just say you are sorry

that, has never been said by anyone here and yet certain people here claim that myself and others say that

I never heard of so called hyper grace and if you ask me, it is hyper nonsense

thanks...I appreciate your response

I agree Lauren., and it is not wise to keep trying to discuss a topic when the other person or persons who so hardily and even angrily disagrees will not even respect you as a person to discuss or even read your answers. Basically it is actually just putting yourself and your words 'out there' to be disparaged again and again and again to no good end at all. Just more fuel for a fire of misunderstandings.

There comes a time when I must conclude with certain posters that I don't know personally, to not keep trying to reason with them. They don't want to know what I think, they just want to tell me what they think and make fun of what I think. LOL
:D But OH I do agree with sister UnderGrace that I LOVE TALKING AND WRITING ABOUT GRACE!!!! Any time!, Any day! let's talk about Jesus and His grace!!

My dog loves the cold, because her hair is unbelievable thick.

One of the primary understandings and agreements within our denomination is that none of us will ever shame someone into staying away from our services because they may feel they cannot match the competitive "see how fine I dress in my $400 suit" attitude. This is super important to us, as we feel it also was to Jesus... that anyone and everyone feel welcome, and not embarrassed to come be with us.

I, personally, think any of us should be thoroughly ashamed if there is even one person who doesn't join us because we make them feel bad that they can't dress as well as what the world sees as a "churchgoer."

Must spread the reputation Willie., so will say it., I agree and BLESS and even applaud that kind of thinking and being. There are sooooooooooooooooooo many people who will not go into a church building for fear of not looking good enough; not to mention they are already feeling they are not "being" good enough. These are just the very people who Jesus IS calling!!

May this true revelation come upon any believer who thinks anything to the contrary!!

there would be no problem with that at all if those who consistently derail and mock would concern themselves with things that they are interested in, rather than making silly comments like Jesus wore designer clothing

actually, I found a really neat piece I might start a thread on...something by Hudson Taylor...from the 1800's...apparently he would also be labelled hyper grace, which, IMO, makes the point that the name hyper grace has been cooked up by hyper heresy hunters who would call a hummingbird evil because it can fly backwards and robins can't

That would be cool! ( some pun intended seeing as we are both in Canada )..I found a quote from a woman that could read Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic and 2 other languages fluently since she was 23 years old but it was years before she understood 1 John 1:7 and it changed her whole life when the Holy Spirit illuminate the Greek to her.

She lived in the 1800's as well. She would have been called hyper too...no doubt about it!

LadyL,

somehow it looks like some of the posts got mixed-up!

precious Lady, you are indeed a Lady and hubby and I respect you very much for being
who you are, 'even though we may have differences' - please, keep-on being who you are
and never ever let anyone's words or their own personal beliefs interfere with the beautiful
person Jesus is creating you to become...:)
