What gospel is that?
This one - 1 Timothy 4:1
God's Spirit clearly says that in the last days many people will turn from their faith. They will be fooled by evil spirits and by teachings that come from demons.
This discussion is that of the OP. Plz keep your comments tailored to that. Thank you

Hello Sirk,

God is a God of Love, justice and mercy, but those characteristics do not extend to those who die in their sins. There will be not grace or mercy at the great white throne judgment, for they will be held accountable for their every sinful action, thought and idle words. Those attributes of grace and mercy are only for the living whom God chooses to bestow them upon.
Really...so God turns off the love justice and mercy side and reveals his sadistic side and punishes finite sins with conscious torment for all eternity?

I think she did. She is saying that you have been mislead by evil spirits and demons with your hell doctrine.

I was created in Gods image. His laws were written on my heart.
Plz tailor your comments towards the subject at hand. Your being in Gods image and the law on your heart has nothing to do with hell.

Of course it does. If the idea of torture is repugnant to man, then it is repugnant to God. Does God not have higher moral standards than man?

If a person dies in their sins, then that person will be held accountable for every sin they committed and that without grace or mercy mixed in. His righteous justice is not "his sadistic side" but his righteous judgment in regards to sin. As far as eternal punishment, that is what his word says.

C'mon Sirk, you know there is a world of difference between fallen man and God. God is not according to fallen man's image.

I'm not fired up at all. I wanna know.....if torture is morally repugnant to man and God has higher moral standards than man....what does the hell doctrine say of God...it makes him have lower moral standards than man concerning torture. I mean.....am I wrong?

Isn't God the One who defines moral standards?

So what is God accomplishing with eternal torture? Is it justice?

Well, it looks like there has been a bit of confusion here. When you die, physically, you go to hell. When judgment comes, you are cast into the lake of fire along with Satan. So, its my understanding that you do endure hell, and no, Catholics, you cant buy your way out, and then upon judgment on the last day, you are cast into the lake of fire.

So it's okay to torture people when they molest a child or murder someone..... If thats the standard that God set with the hell doctrine.....right?

He sure does. If you are referring to hell, you are being sadly deceived.

And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name."
(Rev 14:11)

Fallen human reasoning vs God's Word, which will you choose?

I'm not trying to be obstinate and I am not trying to inflame. These are honest questions. So far I've only gotten...that is what the bible says..... and I'm not convinced it does say that.
