It seems? Well, it seems you dont fully understand me then. I dont water down the Bible.
I put forth the truth in the Bible. The only ones condemned are the ones who deny Christ.

You really shouldnt bear false witness against me
HAHAHA I don't have to! Your posts all over this forum do that well enough.

I am in full support of not sugar coating the bible... However, screaming damnation to all is... ugh never mind... Keep doing what you are doing. God knows your heart. I could go on and on but you wont listen.

Have great night!

I'm asking you the question. Can I get a yes or no? Does a just loving merciful God keep someone conscious to torture them for eternity? Please and thank you. :)
Well, its the "just" part. Because He is just. Atheist ask the same thing. "How can a loving God do this?" Its His law. He's unchanging. He doesn't get a kick out of it. It pains Him to see it... However, here comes the fun part.. Are there vessels created and destine for destruction?

Thats a great question. God knew everything from the foundation of the world and created creatures that He knew He knew He would torture for eternity?

Ya man....I was raised in church and I've read all these hundreds of times. Can you please answer the questions I have asked.

A just, merciful loving God willingly keeps people conscious for eternity to torture them?
As I said earlier, God's love, grace and mercy are not in operation for those who have died rejecting Christ. While God's love, grace and mercy is still in operation for the living, it is not in operation for those who have died in there sins, which is an unreconciled state. Who are we to determine if and how God should or can punish people. Are we not the created beings? All I know is what God's word says and there is way too much information demonstrating that Sheol/Hades and the Lake of fire are literal places of eternal punishment.

Well, to a degree.. yes.. However, it is certainly established that coming at them with that right out of the gate will not cause them to instantly repent.. It will only anger them more towards God. That's why its best to start with why you follow Christ.

We follow Christ because what He has and still does for us. Then you can get into the sinful nature part and what the wages for sin is.
Actually, what you said is only half true. Christ mirrored the attitude he received. If he was slighted and the gospel of grace was thrown back at him he said this:
16the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.” 17From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

We could do one better and ask why God created that third of angels knowing that they were going to rebel with Satan against him. He could have just not created them and then they would not have existed to rebel against God and it would have also kept him from tempting Eve in the garden of Eden and possibly keeping mankind from his fall.

No Bushido,

She is just contending for the truth of God's word as I do, regardless of the topic. There are too many people distorting the word of God these day and on every level. Personally, God has given me a zealous spirit for the truth and accuracy of His word, to correct, rebuke and contend, which is the same that msSuzanna is doing.

What if the notion of hell was a distortion? We do it today but they didn't do it when it was put together?

Yes, because as king David said after he committed adultery with Bathsheba, "I have sinned against you alone." All sin is against God and the price is high for dying in it. But the reward for excepting his salvation is much greater. I have no personal desire for people to be punished, but this is the punishment that God has described in his word and that's what I believe.

I'm going to bed. I hope ya'll put some thought into my questions and give me something I can really chew on. There appears to be a lot of wood, hay and straw in this thread.

Wow, that was presumptuous. Age has nothing to do with theological knowledge. You can be 48 and not have it together. Don't think for a second wisdom comes with age where the Holy Spirit is concerned.
