Some people believe that Matthew 24 only deals with the time of 70 A.D.,but I do not believe it does.
Mat 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
To me this is the only reference that Jesus mentions the overthrow of Jerusalem,and He said that because the disciples said look at these lovely buildings,and Jesus said they are coming down.
Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Then I believe that Jesus speaks of the end time,and close to when He is coming back to gather the saints unto Him,which is now.
Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Mat 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Also if it is a physical overthrow of Jerusalem,why is Jesus warning them about spiritual deception,which would pertain to today,with the many different denominations,and especially the new age movement with its occult interpretation of the Bible that God said many will depart from the faith and follow it,in which they mix and mingle religions to their liking.
Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Also without advanced technology,and advanced travel,how can the disciples know of these things that shall happen on different places on earth,but today we can know them,which Daniel said,I do not understand what you are telling me,when it was told him of things that would occur at the end time,but was told go your way,for you cannot understand,but they will understand at the end time,for many shall run to and fro,advanced travel,and knowledge shall be increased,advanced technology,which means the saints at that time can view what the world is doing,then they will understand,which the disciples,and people of that time would be in the same position as Daniel,for how can they know of those things that happen on different places on earth.
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Also how can the saints be hated of all nations,not a few,but all nations,for all nations did not even know Israel existed,and was no possible way for them to come together and go against the saints,for were the Native Americans way over here thinking,ugh,me hatem the saints,although what is a saint,who cares,me hatem them anyway,and we must assemble and go attack them.Gather the tribes together,which will take 20 years to do,but we do it anyway.
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Also people will be worse in iniquity at the end time than back then,and how can there be many false prophets,for how can there be so much spiritual deception at that time when Christianity is young,which when the transgressors are come to the full,then a king of dark countenance,and understanding dark sentences shall stand up,and deceive those who do not love God.The love of many would of not waxed cold back then,as today.
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Also how can the Gospel be preached in to all the nations as a witness to them,before Jerusalem is attacked in 70 A.D.,without advanced travel,and advanced technology,and when Christianity was too young to even spread that far.Were the Native Americans saying,ugh,me hears of this thing called the Gospel,but me no believe,and it angers me,and we must assemble and attack those saints who puts out such a thing.But the Gospel can be preached among the nations today.
Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Mat 24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Mat 24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Mat 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
This is when the beast claims to be God at the end time,and deceives all people that does not love God to follow the beast kingdom,in which God will end this sin business,but we still see people sinning,and Jesus tells the saints to run,for the beast will persecute all people who hold the testimony that Jesus is Lord and Savior,and he has power over all nations,kindreds,and tongues,not a few,but all.
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
How can this be the greatest persecution ever,seeing in the future it will be the whole world persecuting the saints,which I will say that has to be the greatest persecution ever.
Jesus is describing things in the future,what is going on now,and the saints will soon be persecuted world wide.
Mat 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.
Also again how can there be so much spiritual deception back then when Christianity is young,but today we can see all the deception,as even people that claim Christ argue with each other over truth,and the occult versions of Christianity.
Mat 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Mat 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
The saints gathered unto Christ,but that has not happened yet,and how is it immediately after the tribulation if it happened in 70 A.D.
Jesus only said the buildings are coming down,and that is it,then tells the disciples of what is going on in the end time,and His coming to gather the saints unto Himself,which would be in today's time.
Zec 12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
Zec 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Joe 3:1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
Joe 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
Joe 3:9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
Joe 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Joe 3:11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
Joe 3:12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
Joe 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Joe 3:15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
Joe 3:16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Zec 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Zec 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Zec 14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zec 14:5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Zec 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
Zec 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
This is not an attack on Jerusalem in 70 A.D.but an attack on Jerusalem in the future,when the world comes together and attacks them,for the whole earth shall be gathered together against them,for God turned them to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah.
70 A.D.-God allowed the Roman Empire to attack Jerusalem,and scatter the Jews in to the nations because of them rejecting Christ,Israel loses the fight,but in this attack on Jerusalem,Israel wins the fights by God,for it is a future attack on Israel.
