Am I the only one that feels that "believing" isnt as black as white as most people think it is?

What can you say about someone that lives a whole life following the lord and has a bad week and ends up having an affair or gets hooked on meth?

Is he/she not a believer because they stumbled?

I hope you understand what I mean, I am not very articulate.
Not to say this is this case in every instance where people make terrible mistakes after many years of believing themselves to be Christian, but there are people who are religious but lost. They may have been raised in a Christian home and gone to church most Sundays and tried to be good enough in order to "end up in heaven" without ever having been truly born again of the Spirit of God. That is why Scripture admonishes us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Fear is the beginning of wisdom, but we do not tarry there when we know the love of God, for His perfect love casts out fear. Do you pray?

I used to pray every day, throughout the day, lately I haven't because i do not even know how I feel about anything.

I still pray from time to time, but not as I used to.

I understand what you are saying, but I think you do not know what being saved is since you are hinting that you have to "work" on your salvation...

I would suggest you begin praying for knowledge of God's will in your life, that you may begin to understand and work out within yourself whether or not you are truly saved, which is an entirely different thing than working on your salvation :)

PS~ that was Scripture. So it was not coming from me telling you to work on your salvation, but from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God which admonishes us to work out our salvation (gain a better understanding of), that we may KNOW we are saved. Knowing is better than not knowing :) Would you agree?

First of all, I want to introduce myself.

My name is not important, but I am a 25 year old man, married, with a baby on the way.

I grew up in a pretty strict christian household (couldn't even go to the movies type deal...). My dad became a believer in '97 and dragged the whole family down the Jesus path.

I have always believed the word (since it was taught to me), and have always had faith in our creator, but as I get older, more and more questions rise up.

As a kid, things are much easier to understand, and to believe, but then of course life comes in and can change your points of view quite drastically. Not to mention, the enemy is always firing his fiery darts of thought....(Right?)

So I guess it is now time to address the post's title, "Is God Happy?"

The reason I ask this is because I cannot help but to wonder why everything is so complex when it comes to the story of creation and humanity. If God is a god of peace, love and order, then why is everything the way it is?

Why did there have to be sin?

Why did there have to be rebellion?

Why did there have to be beings of greater intelligence and greater strength that torment us dumber, and frantic humans?

Why would God not show himself in a palpable way for everyone to see?

Why is there so much mystery as to who and what God is?

Why are there so many wildly different interpretations of the word? (Not to mention the tons of different translations)

God is omniscient, so he must have foreseen all of the "bugs" with the system right?

Why did he even allow the possibility for his creation to rebel? Why?

I just cant't help but to ask myself if God is happy with how things turned out.

Sure, it probably has only been a couple of days for God since he created adam, but we are stuck in this time lapse, and WE HAVE TO LIVE HERE, LIKE THIS.....

Sure, God wants us to depend on him, and develop our faith, etc....

But it is not fun.

Welcome to CC...

Who can speak on behalf of GOD?
Those who God chooses to speak for Him of course.

Amo_3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

We can pick up much about the evil Rebellion.. but GOD is above all things and the Battle is won.. everything in due season.. when the crop is ripe the harvest will come.. to some the end is frightening but for others it is time to go home... many prefer the temporary and love life here in separation.. but the Children of GOD abide waiting for His return..
Amen. And in the last days His Spirit will pour out on the Sons and Daughters and they shall prophesy concerning these things that are to come.

I haven't read it all, but the opening statement seems bold.

I don't want to be tested, where is the freewill to being tested?

not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence,
continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

Well,

I am not speaking on behalf of anybody but my own observations/thoughts..

All I am saying is that we as humans have to live in this time frame, and in this reality/dimension.

We have earthly bodies and minds, filled with anxieties, fears, and worries.

God designed all of these emotions and abilities to move about in this world, so again, why make it so difficult to make it to heaven?

I by no means mean to question God or his sovereignty, but I am baffled by how it all works and how many people will suffer for ever.
You will know and understand the Truth if you believe what God has told me concerning the very thing you are asking, "The Meaning of Life" i could write the entire article here and take up a couple of posts doing so, but by providing a link you can choose to either click on it or ignore it. But the article is relevant to the very reason you are baffled by how it all works.

I just want to know if anyone else feels this way, or has at some point thought about this in this context.

BTW thank you for the welcoming greeting.
i use to, but then i asked Him about it, and He told me. Now i understand 100% and am no longer baffled.

If God hates evil, why is it necessary?
God does not hate evil, He hates disobedience, which then turns into evil.

Isa_45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Evil right now on earth is serving God's purpose. Evil in Heaven was NOT.

Every question you asked is answered in the word of God in some form or fashion....I suggest prayer, honest study and allow the word to speak without preconceived ideas and or bias opinion..as I read thru your questions I was immediately thinking of applicable answers that can apply......and to answer your final question....

Jesus was a man of sorrows and God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked....but he knew that sin and rebellion would rise up and began reconciling the world unto himself before he cast down the world and created man.......

The answers are there....but you must be willing to accept the answers......!

I know that we were created with freewill, but why put things in front of our face while having freewill that God knows will hurt us? I have a terrible analogy for this, but it kinda gets the point across.

Lets say you have a pet monkey, and that pet monkey when you receive it is free of preconceptions and ideas. You put that monkey in a very fancy house filled with expensive items and artifacts. You tell the monkey that he cannot touch anything and that if he does he will be in trouble.

You leave the house and the monkey and you go away for a few months. You trained the monkey to phone you, but he does not hear your voice directly, he only knows that you are listening.

The monkey grows bored, desperate, anxious, what have you....

You return and the house and its items are in shambles...

Who do you blame? The monkey for having free will, or do you blame yourself for leaving the monkey to his own devices?

All I am saying is that God could have made it a bit easier for his creation to be saved.
Its not about one monkey but thousands of monkeys. The owner ONLY wants those who obey Him, the owner does not want monkeys that disobey Him. So the owner creates that house and environment, and tells them if you don't touch anything, I will come and get you one day and take you to the best place in the universe where you can do whatsoever you desire to do and touch whatever you want to touch. And then leaves all those monkeys in the house. One day the owner returns and judges each of the thousand monkeys. And the monkeys that believed the owner and wanted what the owner was offering them did not touch any thing, and they were a very few, like maybe 10 out of those thousand monkeys that did not touch anything at all, believing in the promise that was made to them. And in the end, because God is not selfish, is HAPPY to have at least 10 that would obey Him in Heaven, and these ten will become like God Himself, and live for eternity with God touching all that they desire forever. All the many who disobeyed the owner will be cast out and not taken with the owner, because they chose to deny the owner and touch whatever they felt like they wanted to do, and disregarded the words of the owner.

Your Master and Lord is to whom you choose to obey. Satan says touch whatever you want, the owner will still take you. God says don't touch anything and then i will take you.

Shall we continue in sin? God Forbid.

You are smart enough to understand the analogy without commenting on the details, I did mention it was a terrible analogy.

The point being is that God created everything, and allows everything, but turns you away if you do not live as the word says.

Basically it is very difficult to be saved, and very easy to burn for ever and ever and EVER.
True, that is why it is written Many will go into destruction but only few will find eternal Life. We are all here to be tested. The Kingdom of Heaven only want those who believe in Jesus and Love One Another. The Kingdom of Heaven do not wan those who do NOT Love One Another.

Hi Seedz

My thought after reading your post is that you are still suffering under after what sounds like a legalistic father who didn't know or understand the true nature of Father God, and the salvation we've been given through Jesus. There's joy in being in the presence of the Lord, and fun is allowed. There are good movies, entertaining, that are made for a general audience. So it's not a sin to go to the movies.

When you read your bible, ask the Lord to show you Himself.

Your first question, why did there have to be sin. Did there really have to be? My understanding is this started with a revolt in heaven. The angel Lucifer thought he should get the worship that was towards God. Something that man agrees with until there is that revelation of the true character of God. Plus the understanding that we are the creation and not the creator.

my opinion based on my experience. :)

I do not have a better way, I just wish that most of humanity wouldn't go to hell.
Those who end up in Hell, choose to. It is clearly written how not to end up in Hell. Your master is to whom you obey. If your Master is Jesus and you obey Him, namely Love One Another, then you will NOT go to Hell. If your master is satan and you choose to obey His enemy and continue to do those things which you know full well are evil and against God, but choose to continue to live in sin, then you choose to deny the power and strength of Christ to overcome those temptations, but choose rather to continue to live in sin instead. Again, if a person ends up in Hell, it is because they Failed to Love One Another, and were altogether selfish, thinking of self and living in sin pleasing SELF.
The inhabitants of the Kingdom of Heaven are more concerned with OTHERS. Those who are selfish will be denied entrance into a Kingdom that ONLY thinks of others.
Those who Love One Another will be accepted into that Kingdom
Those who love self will be rejected from entering that Kingdom
All wilful sinning is SELFISHNESS.

God reveals Himself to us in His Word to us. His word is living and breathing.

And the answer to just about every other question you have is this:

The things in life, and how things go in this world is to reveal to us His Grace and mercy.

If He never allowed the fall, and gave us the ability to rebel. We would have never understood Him fully. With the fall, we are able to see His Grace and Mercy. And that is what we are to reveal to this fallen world.

We have the privilege to be witnesses for Christ and His Grace and mercy to fallen man.....even when it does not seem so 'fun.'

If we are created in the image of God then maybe questioning things is part of God's image?

Maybe I should just keep to myself. Did mean to offend you.
There is nothing wrong with asking Questions that you do not understand. Seeking answers to better help you understand something is a Godly thing to do.

But i exhort you to be wary of asking men for answers to these questions. But go to God and ask Him for the answers, and believing He will answer you, He will, because He is not a liar and it is written:

Joh_15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Therefore Ask Him for the understanding, and He WILL give it to you.

1Jn_3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, AND love one another, as he gave us commandment.

Do this and whatsoever you ask of God He will give it unto you. i know this is True, Anything i have ever asked of God, He has done it. If He will for me, He will for you too.

Right this second, if i were to die or be killed, i would be SAVED. But to say i will be Saved in the Future, i can't say one way or another. If God decides to test me like He did JOB, would i remain in Him or fall away, i know not. i would like to believe i would stay strong and not fail my Lord, but until i go through it, who knows?
When a person is Saved their name is written in the Book of Life. Scriptures teaches in several verses that a persons name can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
There is ONLY ONE DAY that will determine who is Saved and who is not Saved, and that day is when the Books are opened on Judgment Day when Christ returns to the Earth to set up His Kingdom. UNTIL that DAY your name can remain in the Book of Life, or be blotted out of the Book of Life, BUT it is only on that DAY the determines who is or who is not SAVED.
So yes i can claim with all assurance and with no doubts whatsoever that i AM SAVED TODAY. But who know what will befall me in the future, and if i will deny Christ for this or that reason. Today i am Saved. and if i endure to the end, i shall be SAVED.

Mat_24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Jesus said that, notice He did not say you are Saved TODAY and forever, but clearly and plainly says those who endure to the end, then they shall be TRULY SAVED, (when the Books are opened and your name is found there).
