We are responsible for putting God's will first...to love others even if it means we expose ourselves to 'unhealthy' conditions. Missionaries do it all the time with little regard to their temple as they minister to others.

Would just like to point out that I was answering Crossnote's question not the OP so my answer had nothing to do with smoking. You might want to go back and re-read it and take the answer in context. I know I'm a Blond but I think I did answer that question correctly.

I think there is a difference in intentionally doing something harmful to yourself and for yourself(smoking) and being in an atmosphere that is unhealthy, especially when you're ministering in that atmosphere (smog).

As with most real bad sins, it is the situation that determines if the THING is sin. SEX is sin out side of marriage. but good in marriage. I hate smoking, but if I were in upstate new York again and working in my garden ,I might get a pipe and smoke it to keep the mischitooos away. (spell check is not helping) Lol Love Hoffco

Good point. What did the Levitical priests do when someone had leprosy? They went outside the camp to investigate them, thereby exposing themselves to it.

There is no instance shared of any of those priests becoming leprous. There is a lot to be said for God's protection when you are serving Him and walking in His will. (I don't think this a 100% always accurate principle, but I've seen it many times.)

I love the smell of some pipe smoke. But , I have never had to smoke a pipe because I used a macheetoo net in the out doors, in N.Y. , chestertown N.Y. Love Hoffco

Context is fornication not smoking or eating.
No, I don't smoke although I tried 42 yrs ago, 2 years before being a christian.

to crossnote, I like my spelling of maschitoo, better, LOL , But I would debate it, I like your comment in post 52. I agree, I tried smole just befor I was saved, got sick and said , this is NOT GOOd. Love. I'm too "fun" this morning to correct this, ove Hoffco LOL
