When Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave on Easter Sunday, he fulfilled the law. The law was made complete, since Jesus was the new Adam, and through the first Adam everybody sinned, through Jesus the son of God and son of man the sins of all people who ever would be born were forgiven. In Genesis God promised a descendant of Eve would come who would crush the serpent's head, and the serpent would strike his heel. Jesus crushed Satan the old lying serpent with his bleeding, wounded feet, the nails in his heels on the cross, so great was his love for us.
This is a great point. The law of Moses was made for those who were of the first Adam. The law of the spirit of life in Christ is made for those who are of the last Adam.

"The law of the spirit of life in Christ" - what do you mean by this phrase?

How does it relate to righteous living?

What empowers a christian to live a righteous life?

It's the law of the spirit (life itself) as opposed to the law of Moses (carnal commandments).

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4

Not sure if this has been brought up before so disregard if it's already been discussed. ;)

Jesus said that He was giving a new commandment after resurrection. To love others as He has loved us. Is this commandment added to the 10? Or does this one commandment fulfill the first two?
Jesus himself gives the answer. He says in two commands (love God neighbor) contain all the law and prophets. It is how they are obeyed.

Do you have examples by quoting scripture as to how this is done?
Loving GOD is doing his commandment which is to believe on his son.
Examples of loving man? Parable of the good Samaritan. Paul and John wrote lots on the subject. Mercy, justice, kindness. Basically treat people like you'd want to be treated.

If I want something that is not right, would you give it to me?

You are calling the law of Moses bad, carnal, and the law of the Spirit of Christ as life.

The problem with this simplification of the argument, the law of the spirit is in the law of Moses. So what you are alluding to is an over simplification. It is like saying vw polo's are evil, while vw golfs are cool. They are both cars, both do the same functions etc.

I suggest you put in non-religious words the point you are trying to make, and then maybe I can agree or disagree because ofcourse I agree with scripture, but it can mean different things depending on what you read in. That is what I am interested in from you.

An example is Jesus is my Saviour, could be said my most christian groups. For some he is a created being, for others a moral example, but never rose from the dead, for some a mystical being not truly human, for others truly a man but not truly God, for some a man who is the same as us etc. Now these differences do not come out when you say Jesus is my Saviour.

So your verse about law does not explain your view. I hope this helps.

Calling carnal bad is the mindset of gnostics. I called the law of Moses carnal because that's what the writer of Hebrews called it.

And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. Hebrews 7:15-16

I don't care if you agree with me or not. I don't like your attitude.

All this verse is saying is that Jesus is a priest of the Melchizedec order, and not Levitical.

Melchizedec was a priest ordained by God Himself, unlike a Levite who is born into being a priest.

Now on carnal vs. non-carnal
Carnal law to my understanding just means a way to take care of yourself phyiscally.
Are we not to take care of our physically bodies anymore?

It didn't help. There is no life in the Law, it is a ministration of death, 2 Cor. 3:7. Life is in Christ. Which is why the law of the Spirit of Life IN Christ Jesus is what sets us free from the law of sin and death, Romans 8:2.

Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. [SUP]2 [/SUP]And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[SUP][a][/SUP] but have not love, it profits me nothing.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; [SUP]5 [/SUP]does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; [SUP]6 [/SUP]does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; [SUP]7 [/SUP]bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

and the kicker....

8 [/SUP]Love never fails.

Does that include solar energy? We are thinking about buying some solar panels for home.

no we have not gotten into that. We use power driven generators. natural gas, and diesel are the most popular. We do have some LP..

Not sure how solar does in home, would be alot of batteries that have to be replaced every so often ..
