I'm a lay leader in my church and I like to first meet a need in someone. Everyone wants to be heard without judgment and so I tend to start relationships with people that way. Usually after a time people really open up to hearing truth from me. I've had good luck with that approach in reaching people who are without Christ.
Yeah, I guess they really have to 'open up' to hear it...ROFL.

We are in the northwestern evangelical conference. I think we were born out of the Methodist church tho. I should know but I don't. I do know that we are an Armenian denom with a Calvinist pastor. How's that for a contradiction? Haha.

I can't believe I just went through this entire thread and hit "Like" on every single post! Nice thread, Sirk, great sentiment, and good point.

I think I'm a hand. Of course, there are those here who have a much lower and backward opinion of me.

Only one we have to please and he is impartial, fair, just, righteous and at the end of the day the only view that will matter in the grand scheme of things.....I am whatever he determines I am........he is most gracious for sure!

Cards aren't my thing but I do like taking chances! :)
Oh, in post #40 you mentioned 'luck', so I took you for a gambler...definitely not Calvinist :)

I'll have to look him up. Thanks for the tip. I should probably know my church history a little better than I do currently. Haha.

No, he's a gambler, lol.
Done tried it. I don't recommend it.

Then again, I'm now an addictions counselor, so I guess it wasn't entirely bad.

Ahah! There, see? I am a hand! Not that other very necessary but totally tasteless body part I mentioned before hand.

"Black bumper" Mennonites? Or does anyone here even know what the heck I'm talking about? Maybe that's strictly a north Missouri term.

Hint: It's not likely you were, or you wouldn't own a computer -- unless you rebelled.

Hint #2: Think "liberal Amish."
