I think I've just figured out what I am. . .
The other nostril? I'm guessing, the one without the hair, right?

I crack me up sometimes.

Must of been a bad day for me. I'm frustrated by how often the answers have been either prove-a-points or well practiced Christianese posing as good advice today. I've see better days. (On the good side, I've seen worse too. lol)
Sometimes the false gospel allows only for what appears this way. . .

"Black bumper" Mennonites? Or does anyone here even know what the heck I'm talking about? Maybe that's strictly a north Missouri term.

Hint: It's not likely you were, or you wouldn't own a computer -- unless you rebelled.

Hint #2: Think "liberal Amish."
I think we're just "mainstreamed" Hutterites....ie my grandpa and grandma didn't have to have a sheet between them when they were breeding. Lol!

Yeah when I was a Pastor I would get 2 remarks:
You are as user friendly as sand paper, but we like that because you make us think and we know you really love us!

-OR-

You do not make us AMEN you, you make us AH MAN you, because you force us to be honest with ourselves!

I view both of them as compliments.
Homer Edwin Young likes to say God sent him to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.

< and I'm gonna' get afflicted for calling him Homer >

Lol. Did I go too far?
No more so than I did about specifically identifying the "appendage" we mentioned earlier.

I want to say "being fruitful and multiplying".
Freudian slip?

Never mind. I'm a behaviorist. I don't believe in Freud.

We are in the northwestern evangelical conference. I think we were born out of the Methodist church tho. I should know but I don't. I do know that we are an Armenian denom with a Calvinist pastor. How's that for a contradiction? Haha.
That's gotta' make for an identity crisis. . .

I'll have to look him up. Thanks for the tip. I should probably know my church history a little better than I do currently. Haha.

Done tried it. I don't recommend it.

Then again, I'm now an addictions counselor, so I guess it wasn't entirely bad.

Ahah! There, see? I am a hand! Not that other very necessary but totally tasteless body part I mentioned before hand.
Didn't Paul say the more "tasteless" parts were clothed with more honor?

Don't diss the "tasteless" parts. . .

I don't worry about that stuff too much....I don't like rabbit trails. They are sort of a waste of time in the Christian walk imo.

Very much agreed! :D We have our differences as individuals but I think the fellowship and help of each other definitely shines through

Ha. I'm good. Was just making an observation. God just loves unity and I wanted to try to create some.
I was thinking about this on my commute today-- about starting a thread that would edify us and unite us instead of everyone arguing-- like a thread about maybe advice on how to reach out as Christians to our community, or something

Imagine the world we would have if we all reached out like Jesus does.

Great thread, Sirk!

I've been sitting here for probably ten minutes trying to figure out what I am! Maybe I'm a neural pathway. Maybe I just fire in all directions at seemingly random times, and sometimes I actually manage to make sense of something :p
