They believe that once they accepted Him as their Savior they could do no wrong. Once they accepted Him into their hearts they walked the walk for a while and then the woman overthrew them. However, there was a time, they genuinely accepted Jesus. They still believe they are saved. They currently live in relationships out of wedlock. Without fear.

I still do not get how you get past. "BE NOT DECEIVED FORNICATORS WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD"

yes we were washed, yes we were sanctified, yes we were justified. Where does that mean we can continue in sin?
You do not get it.

Where does it say you have ever stopped sin? Are you sinless?? (yes I keep asking this. But there is a reason)

Paul is talking about our identity, He is warning them not to live in their old idently, but to live under their new identity.

They will not inherit the kingdom of God, Unless they are washed and justified.

if you have been washed and justified, why would you want to live like them again. That is the context. He is not saying you will lose salvation.

Forever is a VERY long time. I don't feel like taking chances... My salvation is in Jesus, without Him quickening my spirit I would never seek Him. Without His sacrifice I would never be justified. Without Him I wouldn't have been loosened of the chains of sin. What if, after He released the chains. I willfully choose sin. My love for darkness pervades my love of Light? Through Jesus I am released from sin. Yes or no? The bible says I'm free from the power of sin. That is the deliverance. Not through my righteousness but through the power of Jesus Christ.
Yes, forever is a long time.

so i refuse to trust in myself and my ability to stop sin (which scripture says I cannot do anyway) and continue to trust in God.

when are you going to stop trusting your ability to stop sin, and start trusting God?

that's the problem Farouk, there are believers of Jesus Christ who live daily in their sin. We tell them their salvation is sure. YIKES!!
oh we do? says who?

If someone is living like the world. and claim to be saved, we would confront them on the issue, Not just let them wallow in their sin. Again, you do not know us at all..

I do trust God. I trust Him to remove the chains of sin. I trust Him to be my strength. To lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil. My God is stronger than sin.

I know there are people who have accepted Jesus as their Savior. They believe He died and rose from the grave. They claim to be saved, they live in sin. Can you explain that?

say as you will, they thought they did. They were baptized. They believe He died and rose from the grave.

what does that have to do with anything? baptism will not save you. not will mere belief, you must trust God ocmpletely, this includes what he says about you and your sin.

in the same token as you claim. many people will think they are saved because they are so good, have stopped sin, have changed their lives, Got baptized, and did all these great works for God.

And jesus will say, depart from me, FOR I NEVER KNEW YOU.

trying to earn your way is no more faith in God or salvic than saying some prayer without faith. ya both think your saved, and your not.

you people love to slam the licentious who in pride refuse to give it to God. when you ignore the legalist, who thinks he is righteous by his own work, and refuses to have faith in the righteousness of Christ.

yes, that is true. But you still have your flesh, and will still fail.

as John said, if you say you have no sin, you decieve yourself and their is no truth in you.

thus you will always be deserving of eternal judgment, even on your best day.

why can't you see this?

I'm not trying to earn my way into heaven. I beg God to have mercy on me, a sinner. OSAS is a dangerous doctrine, it has a lot of assumptions. Well, they weren't really saved to begin with... says who? you? okay, so what was the difference when they accepted Him and when you accepted Him? nothing in that moment, the change came later. So were they saved or not?

what do you mean by live in sin?

and just because someone claims something, does not mean it is true. People decieve themselves all the time. Look at people in here who claim one thing, yet preach something else? Why do you think we should trust God. and not men.

I do see this, thats why I live in fear. Fear of accepting my sin. Do I fail? yes. However the day I say "ehhh, I'm going to fail anyway, it's whatever" is the day I believe my soul is in jeapordy. Why can't you see that?

John 14.1; John 14.27

go a little further in John and you get this.

[SUP]21 [/SUP]He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

So your not trying to earn it but you are. make up your mind..

Says God. Or do you not read the bible??

John says they were never of us (saved)

Jude says their condemnation was long ago known (never saved)

James says their faith was dead (no faith, no salvation)

Why are you trying to say they are not saved? Your the one judging them, not me, Jesus said he came to save, not judge, Judgment is left fot the last day, And who will suffer judgment?

All who do not believe in the name of the only Begotten son of God (trust him)

if you think you can lose salvation, your trying to earn it. Period. Stop decieving yourself into thinking otherwise.

Do people misuse OSAS and turn it to licentiousness? Yes. But that does not make it evil just because some misuse it. People have been twisting and misusing Gods word since day one, Look how the Jews used the law to reject Christ. Does that mean the law is evil because people misuse it? SOmetimes some common sense just needs to come to play.

maybe being saved is at the end.. ever think of that?

Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Because you fear. When God says he did not give us a spirit of fear but of adoption.

many people like you have fallen, given up. because why bother, I cant live up to Gods standard in the first place (which if we TRULY understand the law, we can't)

It is people like you who give up. Not me. I relaise I will mess up. I thank god, get back on my feet and start to trust him again.

You can not take people who fear to war. You will crumble. If you have no security and trust in god to do what he promised. you will fail, and he can not use you.

OSAS gives us this faith, this courage, to continue running the race, and not look back, even when we fall and stubb our toe. Your form of legalism defeats people, makes them look at things which are no really important, And keeps their eye of what God really wants you to do (most legalist I grew up hid there sins and could not get help, because they were afraid of being judged) it is your belief which is evil. Not eternal security based on GODS WORK, and GODS PROMISE
