Just wanted to post some scriptures that reveal what was hidden before. How JESUS is the Rock that lead the Israelites out of Eygpt and more.

1 Corinthians 10

New King James Version (NKJV)

10 Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, [SUP]2 [/SUP]all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, [SUP]3 [/SUP]all ate the same spiritual food, [SUP]4 [/SUP]and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. [SUP]5 [/SUP]But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. [SUP]7 [/SUP]And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]8 [/SUP]Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell; [SUP]9 [/SUP]nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; [SUP]10 [/SUP]nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Now all[SUP][b][/SUP] these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. [SUP]13 [/SUP]No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

so can anyone give the matching OT scripture verses for this story?

<just a change from debating, lets engage in a little Bible trivia and see how much we remember of Biblical stories and how they foreshadow Christ> :)

***please ignore all people attempting to create a debate or strife****

I'll give everyone a day to answer and then post up a new question. ... winner gets brownies ;)

Abiding love the verses but did you see the title? we're looking into the OLD testament ;)

one point for Loveme and BishopSEH each. you can earn another one if you can post the exact verses that parallel 1 Corinthians 10: 10-13

<now I have to find them myself lol>

Just thought about it. probably should break up the scriptures a little to make it easier to give parallel verses.

Event 1: baptism

1 Corinthians 10
all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, [SUP]2 [/SUP]all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,
didn't realize that people were baptized into Moses, did you?

Event 2: Manna
[SUP]3 [/SUP]all ate the same spiritual food,
3. living waters
[SUP]4 [/SUP]and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.
4. disobedience and death in the wilderness
[SUP]5 [/SUP]But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
5. idolatry
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. [SUP]7 [/SUP]And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”[SUP][a][/SUP]
[SUP]

6. sexual immorality
[/SUP]
Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell;
7. Tempting God
[SUP]9 [/SUP]nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents;
8. Complaining
[SUP]10 [/SUP]nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
9. end of the ages
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Now all[SUP][b][/SUP] these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
Ok. so can you identify 9 Bible verses to parallel the scriptures

please give Book Chapter and verse(s)

Thanks :)

*** remember the topic is the people that left with Moses from Eygpt. ***

after rereading my post I realized my question was rather vague. hopefully my last post will clear it up some.

:) I want at least 9 verses about each topic :)

Numbers 21

And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 7Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
Exodus 17

[SUP]5 [/SUP]And the Lord said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
[SUP]6[/SUP]Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel

Exodus 16

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
i have enjoyed this and will let others have a chance because i have been noticing much today that i marvel at :)
