1 John 5
[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

A requirement of God to show our love towards Him is to keep His commandments
but its not a requirement of God to love us, it is a way we can show our love of Him to others: by keeping His commandments. He loves sinners too and deals with them by Chastening them.

1 John 2
[3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

God goes on to tell us that if we do not keep His commandments and claim to know Him, that person is a liar and the truth is not in them.
yet there are more scriptures that show how God loves the liar and teaches them precept by precept the TRUTH with patience and kindness.

Sounds like some conditions according to the scriptures.

.
not unless you insert it there.

yes you must add to your faith (which is given in measure from GOD not created by men) first VIRTUE

but after that you need Knowledge

then you learn Self control

after practicing for a while you get: Perseverance

Then we have: godliness

Next we get: brotherly kindness (most are working on this one)

Finally we have True Agape LOVE as God loves us.

we can truly know what it means to love unconditionally. to forgive even those who abuse and ridicule us. who would crucify us if they could. We learn how to love and forgive and work for THEIR good and pray for them instead of reacting as the world does: to win an argument or point or have power over others. we speak of God's love and His power to change the INWARD man, to cause people to be BORN AGAIN and be made NEW creations IN CHRIST Jesus. to truly know what circumcision of the HEART really means.

Then you don't go to haven. It doesn't mean God does not love. However, if He was to force Himself on people, that would not be love either.
God love those who keep his commandments and by the way man don't go to heaven where the Father and Jesus dwells

Wait a minute you don't go to heaven or lets say get into his kingdom

But his love is unconditional so we all should get into his kingdom whether we believe or not

There is no conditions remember

Anyone that denies the unconditional love of God has another spirit that does not come from God, who is love.
This is your opinion

I can say anyone who believe that God love is unconditional has not read the bible

God sending His only begotten so to die for a sinful undeserved world shows unconditional love.

Scriptures also show that obedience and faithfulness is a condition for eternal life (Hebrews 5:9- And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him).
Matt 7:21- Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

The fact that you obey God after you are saved by grace through faith alone does not mean you are trying to work for salvation. No one can stay saved without being faithful to God.
(Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil).

Meritorious works like as going to church, charitable deeds, obeying the ten commandments, worshiping in church etc, to be saved void Christ's death.
God sent his son to those that believe

Read what it actually says and stop believing what some one told you

John 3:15-16 (KJV)
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

no not conditions, sign posts indicating your maturity in Christ. Faith is given with NO condition attached.

God's LOVE is unconditional. When you first experience God's love in you're heart you will know what is being talked about, until you do it will but empty words to you.

Jesus love extended to everyone, especially the 'sinners'.
Jesus said

John 14:15 (KJV)
If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Do the sinner keep the commandments

If not how does he love God

And

Jesus said
1 John 5:3 (KJV)
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

How is Jesus loving the sinner we he says he love those that keep the commandments
Your theory don't add up

Where is it written that he love the sinner?
if you don't mind damombomb..

Luke 6:31-36

New King James Version (NKJV)

31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
32 “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

God tells us to love others unconditionally because HE loves those who are unthankful and evil. He tells us to HOPE FOR NOTHING IN RETURN because HE does not expect anything in return for His love. God gives not as the world gives, expecting something back. He gives out of LOVE.

I pray one day you know what that truly means. its one of those things that goes beyond words into the heart of a person that makes it truly humble and contrite.

those show how we show OUR love FOR God. they do not talk about GOD's LOVE for us.

this verse does:

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Matthew 7:21-24 (KJV)
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. [24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

What happen to the unconditional love ?

Notice the last verse put the conditions.

A God of unconditional love would not have said the things he said

have you seen the above scriptures?

I know you have somehow allowed the simplity of the Gospel message to be tangled with the doctrines of men but I entreat you read again the Bible with an open heart and pray that God show you His truth. then perhaps you will know what it means to be born again of the Spirit and to be redeemed by the blood. You don't earn it, its by faith and Grace of God. it is by His mercy because we do not deserve it but He has given it to us anyway out of unconditional LOVE.

After we know what it truly means we grow in Him and we walk with the Holy Spirit and learn godliness and self control. we learn wisdom from God after we are born again. we know how to drink pure milk and spit out poisons and lies false spirits will try and trick us into consuming and believing.

God's peace and love and joy reign in our hearts so that our words and actions like living waters flowing from the abundant purified hearts made new in Christ to be lights unto the world and lead people back to God and turn them from their sins unto repentance and truly know what God's love means and how His laws are for our good. not burdens but protection. like telling a child not to run into oncoming traffic, God tells us not to sin and injury ourselves spiritually. its not to win His love we obey but we obey because we know in our hearts HE loves us and guides us in order to do good and not evil

and yes I can give you the Bible verses for all that if you like but its kind of long and will take me a while to find and post.

in context you would realize that Jesus is warning His flock of wolves pretending to ministers of righteousness and pretending to preach in HIS name but lie and only seek to use others for their own gain.

its a valid warning don't you think? it not about God not loving those wolves, but about God loving the sheep and protecting them. If you had a child who was a bully on the playground, would you say nothing and allow him to beat up all the other little children? not everyone is a child of God, some are wolves and like being wolves.

Matthew 7

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Matthew 19:16-17 (KJV)
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? [17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is , God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Eternal life is Conditional or unconditional?
