No he was mad because people were selling in the temple which was a place for worshiping God. He said they had turned it into a den of thieves. It sorta reminds me of these mega churches today where they have book shops, coffee shops, buy this dvd, etc. And people go more outta well its Sunday i guess i gotta go to boring church

The key is "money changers" they would make the poor exchange at a rate that equated to common thievery and then charge inflated rates for the purchase of an acceptable offering.....lamb, turtle dove etc....

I like the rest of what you say as well.......social clubs instead of houses of worship......

this is a forum where anybody can post and ask questions.
however, please we should be reminded that this is a Christians forum built on the body of Jesus Christ, so if we must talk about Him on here, it is better for us to watch our language, construction of sentences, usage of words...

to answer your question, if u had a pet, it means u have power over that pet, can the pet possess you?

i guess your referring to what happened in Mat. 21:12

another question to answer your question- if you traveled and came back home unexpectedly, getting to the house, you discovered your son invited some friends over for a party in your house and the house is filled with lot of teenage boys and girls, smoking and drinking, shouting dancing... at that point what would you do?

will you react angrily?

if you react angrily to drive them out, could we say your possessed?

Is this a rhetorical question in response to something said in the forums, or do you think He was?

Keep in mind that Jesus IS God, how could he be possessed?

i bet Josiah was angry too

They tore down the altars of the Baals in his presence, and the incense altars that were high above them he chopped down; also the Asherim, the carved images and the molten images he broke in pieces and ground to powder and scattered it on the graves of those who had sacrificed to them. Then he burned the bones of the priests on their altars and purged Judah and Jerusalem.
In the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, Simeon, even as far as Naphtali, in their surrounding ruins, he also tore down the altars and beat the Asherim and the carved images into powder, and chopped down all the incense altars throughout the land of Israel.

(2 Chronicles 34:4-8)

For zeal for Your house has consumed me,
And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

... and because of that, it is useful to see who you are talking to.

Check out who Levi is. Know Levi, and you wouldn't be questioning his use of this forum!

Jesus became angry, and turned the tables, was he demon posessed?
Joh 2:13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
Joh 2:14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
Joh 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;
Joh 2:16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
Joh 2:17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

Mat 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.

Jesus was angry at the people in the temple using it for personal gain, when Jesus said it is a house of prayer, and not a house of merchandise.

Jesus is God manifest in the flesh,God and man in harmony, and could speak from the viewpoint of man or God,and could act according to the viewpoint of man or God.

Although the man Christ Jesus had to be in line with God,to love people,He is still God and can act according to Him beng God,and it is His house so He can have whoever He wants to be in it,or not in it,and He wants it to be a house of prayer, not a house of merchandise.

Also the scourge of cords He made,I do not believe it was for the people, but it was to drive the animals out of the temple.

And to say was He demon possessed is ridiculous, and not even a thought that should be considered.Jesus did not hurt any human being, but told them to get out,and overturned the tables, and the scourge of cords was to drive the animals out,not for the people.

Had any person not heed Jesus when He said, get out,Jesus would of not touched that person for harm, but would of let that person be,but since He overthrew the tables, chased the animals away, and upset their business that was going on,those people would of left anyway, for that was their purpose for being at the temple,to make money, and Jesus raided it being on the Holy Ghost swat team, and broke it up.

It is Jesus' house, and He can have whoever He wants to be there, and not be there.

If a person was sleeping in their house, and all is quiet, and peaceful, and someone broke in,will they awake and think,ah,there is a burglar in the house,I will not be mad,and call the cops, but let me be a good host, and let me go and make him feel comfortable, and ask him if he wants anything to eat and drink, and if he needs to clean up,let him clean up,and let him take whatever he findeth to his delight, and I will even point to him the things that are hidden, and will send him away with much goods, and belly to the full, and all the wit clean.

No,they will not say that, but think, and might even say,get out of my house, and may even shoot the person,or use some other weapon against him.

It is Jesus' house that they broke in it with a purpose in the temple other than the purpose God intended for the house, like a person will invite a person over,a guest, which is the purpose of the house owner, but a person that breaks in is against the purpose that the house owner wants,so they will be angry and want the person out of the house.

Jesus is God,and as God can show anger, and overturn their tables, and tell them to get out,for it is His house, and does not want their business in it,but Jesus as a man did not hurt any human, did not lay a finger on them, but only wanted them to get out,all their belongings, and animals, merchandise, for that is not the purpose of the temple, and God did not decorate it like that,so get your furniture, and animals out of here, and since you do not want to use it as a house of prayer, you can get out of here too.

How can anyone ever think Jesus was demon posessed? That's absurd, yet the pharisees of the day were saying Jesus was doing what he was doing by the power of the devil.

Wow...really?

I recall Jesus warning the Pharisees who said He did works by the power of Beelzebub that it is blasphemy that can never be forgiven if they do so. I'd tread real lightly here.

The temple is a sacred place of worship and people turned into a place of sales and pretty much violated it.. not only this but the temple is (His house), so yea, he took it personal and flipped tables on them. A house of worship for all nations overrun by thieves... Righteous anger is justified, he wasn't demon possessed, He continued to speak truth the whole time while proving a point.

No,being angry isn't a SIN. God gave us emotions, but we have to pray and ask God how to respond instead of just reacting to situations and use not only our emotions but God given AGAPE love.

What's up Levi? How is your wife and your new baby? Beautiful picture. Suprised to see you outside the Prayer forum.
