Joel Osteen is a false prophet and if he doesn't repent of his evil ways he's gonna burn in hell for teaching false doctrines.2John1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver an Antichrist. Verse10-11 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.Ephesians5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. what suits some people, is complaining about others. some peoples ears itch to hear condemnation -- they don't want to celebrate the truth so much as they want to concentrate on lies ((even while proclaiming that they are lies)). it's the sort of attitude that gets us two presidential candidates that no one likes and no one trusts: each one is there just so we can hate the other one more.
sugar, what's the difference in the half-dozen threads you've started about these people, and starting a half-dozen threads condemning the RCC? or starting a half-dozen threads attacking Islam or Hinduism?

maybe. but maybe it would be more edifying to present the truth than it would be to make a long list of things that are not true . . ?
to love God is to hate sin, sure, but it's like the saying, that a lot of people spend more time looking for the coming of the antichrist than they do looking for the coming of Christ.
correcting false teaching is good, but stirring up animosity and division among brothers is one of the things God hates. so what's the purpose here: to urge us to consider anyone who attends a "mega church" as our enemies?
would it maybe be more wise to just keep proclaiming sound doctrine, until someone actually comes along and contradicts it, than it is to teach false doctrine for the sole purpose of getting mad about it and decrying it?

There is nothing wrong with exposing deception..
But people seem to want to suppress those who expose deception..
Instead of saying Hey this guy preaches the truth and your POV is wrong because of this this and that .. They simply attack the person and do not deal with the points made...
It is good to expose deception people.. To warn the Lambs of the wolves in sheep's clothing..

Well i did not end up watching the video.. The dramatic music in the video turned me off quick smart.. I never like watching videos with distracting music it is a pain in the neck and very frustrating for me.. And i disagreed with the interpretation of the video on the judging scripture.. So that combined with the music added up to motivating me to click the X and bailing out..
As far as the teachings of Osteen goes it is simple.. Any Christian worth their salt would know immediately that Osteens ""Your best life now"" teaching was false and biblical.. If there is anyone who believes that you can have your best life now then they are deceived and i feel WOE for them.. As a Christian i believe that the scriptures definitely support my belief that my best life shall be after this life when i will enter into eternity and live my eternal life with Jesus in His perfect existence.. I am supremely confident that no one on this forum will be able to use scripture to convince me that my current life in this carnal body can be better then my life with Jesus will be in Eternity

Welp, the poster is banned.
I think that most Christians understand that Osteen doesn't give the whole counsel of God, but provides a very lukewarm teaching that focuses on self help. Perhaps some of the posts that PollyAnna had were inflammatory and not in a good way, but she also posted some good things as well. Maybe the delivery could have used some work, but many of the things she posted were spot on.
Anyways, now that the user is banned, shall we move on to a new topic?

Because not all believers have all knowledge.. Some of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is Wisdom and Knowledge.. Some are given healing and tongues and prophecy.. As far as i know no single Christian has ever received all the gifts of the Holy Spirit.. That's why the Body of believers are likened to an actual body in the scriptures.. Some are the hands, some are the legs some are the ears some are the eyes and so forth.. Because we are formed into the Body to be dependent on each other in different areas of the faith.. So the one who is a healer will need to be accepting of the one who has been given knowledge and the one who has been given knowledge will need to listen to the one given prophecy and the one given prophecy will need to have their prophecy tested by the one with wisdom.. And one person with knowledge may have it in one area and another may have it in another and they will be need to listen to each other and grow in understanding when they share what they have been given..

Polly Anna, you are up against it with this bunch. They dont know the word. They dont see the apostasy. They dont want to see the evil, the compromise, or the heresy.
The only thing i heard these guys yelling that i did not agree with was 'you're gonna burn in hell' line denotng the pagan eternal torture myth. If not saved, the second death in the lake of fire will be their destiny. Uh oh. Did i just hijack this thread? Sorry.

put it this way, if the ups guy had a delivery for you and came up to your door all nice and handed you your parcel you would ACCEPT it
on the other hand, if he came up to your door and kicked the door and yelled at you and then when you came to the door, he threw your parcel on the ground and screamed at you to pick up, after he jumped on it, you would not ACCEPT that
in scenario one, your parcel is intact...it's good...the delivery allowed you to RECEIVE what you ordered
in the 2nd scenario, you go the parcel, but it was not what you ordered and NOT what the company sent
