The Bible says the Holy Ghost distributes gifts as he wills. If he finds only one that is obedient to his voice and all 9 need to manifest at that time, that one person will manifest all 9. I have witnessed all 9 manifest in 2-3 people....and that is Biblical.

The Word of Knowledge is not at all what you describe...It is a fact about a persons past or future in the mind of the Holy Ghost, that he gives a person to confirm something to whom the word of knowledge is given.

I ministered to a person one night and asked if I could pray for them, as the person came to the altar I asked her how long they had been battling cancer... I had never met the person until that very moment and had no knowledge about them. The person told me they had battled with Cancer for 5 years. I prayed that the Cancer would leave their body in the name of Jesus.

The next night the person returned to the meetings and had their Cancer Doctor with them, who had medical proof the person was completely healed of the Cancer.

The Pastor of that church told me later they had prayed for the person secretly[at the persons request] for 5 years and that nobody else in the Church knew about the persons condition. The person and the whole Church rejoiced....

That is an example of a correct Word Of Knowledge

people are always (not literally always, but you know what I mean) getting a word of knowledge and prophecy mixed up

they also forget the Holy Spirit will bring to your mind scripture...but he ain't gonna bring to your mind what is NOT in there and people just accept anything because they think..ASSUME...God would not let them be deceived...not realizing they are deceiving themselves by being ignorant about what God said to begin with

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. Jesus talking in John 14:26

how can HE help you remember what you don't know? people hear something in their heads...don't check it out with the Bible and ASSUME it's God...don't verify, don't question it, don't test it...and then start down the crooked path of deception...happens frequently, but many Christains will then toss the scripture about the Holy Spirit being our teacher and they don't need anyone else...conveniently leaving out the fact that GOD Himself, has given us teachers and other spiritual gifts so as to avoid the deception in the first place

there is also alot of pride involved in that kind of deception...it's all over the place

Spot on post....The confusion regarding what the 9 gifts are and how the function is all over the map.

I was visiting a church once and the Congregation and the Pastor loved hearing a word of knowledge & word of wisdom from the Ph D that attended their church, who was also the Dean of the local 2 year college and he was spreading wisdom and knowledge...but that is not at all what those 2 gifts are.

People preach and teach false stuff that is not intentional deception all the time, especially concerning the 9 gifts....

My wife and I have a gift seminar we teach at churches that cover all the gifts, when we get to the 9 we always remind people these gifts are not a manifestation of someones natural ability, but the Holy Ghost's supernatural nature...that is when the light goes off....or we get asked to leave...

oh Pastor Snookums is a godly man! he is so sincere...there is no way he could be wrong...God would not let that happen

Janey is a gifted teacher...she went to Bible Collage for that! errr............?

this is a church! God would not let the devil do something here...EEEEEK!

and so no

unintentional is what gets em every time...I have way too much experience with that one...lives can be destroyed

when the arrogance manifests though, you have a big clue kicking you in the shin

one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, is admit that a close family member was NOT hearing from the Holy Spirit and was deceived and the problems we all experienced were from her overdoses of God told me, God told me to tell you, I had a dream...or a vision, or God gave me a verse and so on and so forth

a cure is impossible without the person admitting deception and asking forgiveness from God...following a voice or fake impressions, is akin to idol worship IMO...the person is actually putting themselves in front of what God says in His word and being arrogant and refusing to take any instruction

Some partially true.

It is simply something made known that wasn't before,by the HS.

Could be in ministry to a person.

Could be a lost item

Could be what part of the car or machine is broken.

Lots of things.

I would agree

you know, since I am often doing 12teen things at once, I will misplace things

seems whenever I go...please show me where I put that...to God, I will almost always find said MIA whatever

I would not call that a word of knowledge necessarily though...more like a nudge to my noggin...:eek:

Everyone has an idea or an opinion about how the Holy Spirit works. I believe He gets blamed for a lot of things that were not His fault. :eek: So I don't take seriously many people when they profess and emotionalize the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is calm and serene and so am I when He is dealing with me.

It's been rare when someone gives me one of those "word of knowledge things" :D But oddly enough this time God used a Christian brother here on CC that I don't even know all that well personally., except for our Bible study room fellowship. We don't even agree all the time in there LOL but we have always respected each other.

Later that night while at work, I was training the person who was taking over my job so she was shadowing me for the evening. Turns out she knew someone I have known all of my life. She just began talking about her children's problems and her husband's job.

She began mentioning a person her husband works with who I know very well and the information about the retirement laws and those who were effected at her husbands job by it. This information was something that was supposed to have been revealed to me many months ago.

Months before it would have helped me a lot to know this information. But back then I decided to let the concerns go. To obey and not worry. God has taken care above and beyond what I ever thought so this info concerning a retirement fund would come when it came or not at all. Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever either way for me.

She not only had this official information but even had information I didn't care to hear. I think it would have been more of an upset had not this Christian brother on CC giving me a word from the Lord. those hours before. Also, just like so many things about the Lord., this "word" was given in such a matter of fact and easy going way that took all of a few seconds for the brother to say.

Like many things I've noticed about the Holy Spirit., He has us take like 2 simple steps and we avoid a horrendous train wreck. A slight right turn to avoid a car crash. A quiet warning about saying a wrong word only to find minutes later how bad the fall out would have been if I said the words I planned on saying. Healing of cancer or healing of a cold., both are healing and He can do either one simply and without horns and harps and fireworks.

I first realize the Holy Spirit is working as a calm and secure knowing. Quiet faith. I realize the Spirit is ministering to my spirit.,. Then I'm so joyful and excited realizing in fresh ways how God's grace effects me. The sadness would not have hurt me to the degree of major but He cared none the less to give that word from another brother.

Knowing He loves us is the MOST amazing experience. And even Jesus told us in John 7:38-39 about giving us the Holy Spirit after we believe in Jesus. He will give us rivers of living water flowing from our inner most being. His source is unending.

[SUP]38 [/SUP]He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).
