Re: Let's DISCUSS Acts 2:4-11 "the Spirit gave the utterance",Act 19:6 "they spake wi
Do you not come out of your 'realization' world and start to 'perceive' them Spiritually, as follows by the Help of he HOLY SPIRIT that, Apostle Paul's point, he is making in 1 Corinthians 13;1 to the Gentile Church is, any Christian having such 'distributed' gifts, prior to that which he pointed out they would receive from the HOLY SPIRIT 'diversify gifts' in chapter 12, must individually remember that even though i am 'talented' with these 'diversify gifts', if i do not love, they all i have had practiced in vain.
Apostle Paul understand about these tongues even better in revelation and explain them further in chapter 14 and in verse 18, he reveals that, 'he speak in tongue's' more than all of them'.
Any 'contention' still that he did not know what he 'babbled' about in chapter 13 and verse 1 beginning?
If GOD's every Word is of truth and have no 'void' or 'lies' in any of them written, then in faith one can believe that Apostle Paul 'spoke the truth and nothing but the truth' that there are 'tongues of angels and of man'. For CHRIST is the one who said them, because Apostle Paul is only a chosen instrument of HIS, prepared for the scattered Jews and Gentiles.
Let us go back to the 'Book of Acts' to verify two different kind of tongues received, on the day of 'Pentecost' and in the house of Cornelius, on the day.
On the day of Pentecost the HOLY SPIRIT gave them utterance and began to speak in other tongues (Acts 2;4) and they went out witness them to a crowd. Devout Jews from every nation were hearing them speak in their own race languages (vs 6).
What were they 'uttering' about, that the crowd hearing there understood clearly and it was for them a sign(1 Corinthians 14;22)?
They were, 'telling the mighty works of GOD'(vs 11).
On the house of Cornelius they received the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT (Acts 10; 45 end). They were, 'speaking in tongues and extolling GOD'. Please take note that they were doing two things at one time, one is 'speaking in tongue's' and another 'extolling GOD", because there is an 'and'. How did the witnesses know they were 'extolling GOD'? This may prove that there may have been 'interpretation' to the tongues spoken there that everyone there understood the meaning of the languages spoken.
What tongues do angels in Heaven use and what they use them for?
'Preaching' like the one's given on the day of Pentecost or 'extolling GOD' given on the house of Cornelius?
The book of Revelation shows a glimpse of what takes place in Heaven with the Holy Angels.
This is what i see and witness in my given 'talent' of the HOLY SPIRIT.
You do realize that Paul's point is NOT about the gifts but about LOVE.
1 Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues[SUP][a][/SUP] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. [SUP]2 [/SUP]If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. [SUP]3 [/SUP]If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[SUP][b][/SUP] but do not have love, I gain nothing. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. [SUP]5 [/SUP]It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. [SUP]7 [/SUP]It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For we know in part and we prophesy in part, [SUP]10 [/SUP]but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. [SUP]11 [/SUP]When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. [SUP]12 [/SUP]For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
If one has the "gifts" without LOVE they are MEANINGLESS.
