Hi.

I was once told that there was a man who prayed to Jesus and that very much angered Him at the time.

Does anyone know of the verse that this occurred and perhaps any context of why Jesus didn't want such authority?

Ever since I was scolded on the relationship I had with Christ, I've felt a great disconnection.

Like I can no longer speak to Him or feel His presence anymore with me.

In a single moment, He just suddenly left in my heart and in my mind.

All that remained afterwards was only my faith.

I've been missing what I had with Him and I would very much like it back again.

Please and thank you.
Satan is a spirit, in people, and in this world,

Who is trying to destroy your love, faith and hope.

He has many methods.

Fear, pain, suffering, people attacking us "without reason", sickness and injury, spiritual or physical, can hurt us.

These are the things that the one without love uses against us,

to try to turn us cold, try to make our love for God die.

The cruelties and separations of this life are many, and painful.

They are the reality of this life, some day they will overcome our bodies and we will die.

--

But we don't have to let the things of this world overcome our spirits and we cannot allow it.

Our spirits groan to be redeemed from this world and that day will come, Jesus knows when.

And remember, it is not by our power or strength that is the victory, but Christ's, and He has already struck Satan's head.

---
Remember our Fathers, the men of faith, what they went through,

Are just a few words, spoken by one with the spirit of Satan enough to make you lose faith?

Maybe Satan knew just what to say, to break your heart, your soul.

Just a few fiery darts at the heart, where was your shield of faith?

The knowledge that He is your personal Savior, and no one, or nothing, can take that away.

It is the most prized possession of your soul.

Keep it deep inside your heart, at the center, where no one can touch it, your faith in Jesus.

--

Don't let the cruelty of words break your spirit, your faith.

Listen to the other words, the words of the Book, the words of Jesus.

They are the words that you should listen to, hear the most.

Can you hear His words in your heart? God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever (that's us).

--

We hear the words of the world all the time,

But it's the words of God's love in our hearts that we should hear the loudest.

Fill your mind and heart with His words, and listen to HIm.

=================================================

re-read, and always 'learn' something brand-new...
More information would help here, like what was the scolding about, was there any Scriptural reference? Was it about something you had done to someone that was out of line Biblically, a sin against them. Was it the first time they talked to you if it was a wrong you committed? If it was about a wrong you had committed toward a brother or sister, if it was the second time that you were talked to about did they bring one or two witnesses with them? Matthew 18:15-17 "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector."

Here's something to think about, it's saying about new things and truth. "If it's new it's not true, if it's true it's not new"
We need to learn truth, over something new, unless it's a truth that is new to the hearer, but not a new concept.

It is disturbing that you thought I was not aware of this, but I suppose this is branching the main post. My response was to help the person posting understand.

Just in case, yes, I know that Jesus knew exactly Who He was, is and alsways will be.God bless you , and thank you for the lessons.

Hello JaumeJ,

Regarding the scripture that you quoted, you are correct in that, Jesus was not angry at all. But he was simply getting the man to understand who he was speaking to. To paraphrase the scripture:

Why do you call me good? There is none good but God. And since you have called me good, then realize who you're talking to.

The man was looking at Jesus according to the flesh, not recognizing His deity, and when he said good Master,Jesus said, why do you call Me good, for there is only one good, and that is God,which He was saying,I am good because God causes Me to do good, not giving glory to Himself, but to God,but if the man would of approached Jesus according to His deity, and said, good Master,Jesus would of said, you are right,I am good,or would not have replied, why call Me good.

The sese of the man asking is the same........If you think it is a sin that I paraphrase with understanding, just say so, but please do not ripple the peaceful waters. You have gone to a lot of trouble to post a moot commentary. May God bless you alway with understanding fro the Hly Spirit.
Do you feel conviction from my post? If you did it was not from me.. I sometime post when i see a problem and want to add clairty to help one and all grow in the knowledge of salvation.. If we are confident in our beliefs then we should never feel bad if they are challenged and if someone through scriptures reveals that we are wrong then we should rejoice that we have been corrected.. It is not about this guy against that guy.. It is about learning and growing and getting better...

Do you have a chapter and verse for that? I cannot find it...

I see the story in Mark (10:17-22) and Matthew (19:19-22) but no mention of that.
So you believe this man only ever called Jesus Good Master.... That he never called other Rabbis good master ? I think my conclusion is justified that this guy had a habit of calling other men good.. Which is something i have seen Christians of today doing with preachers priests and pastors..

In this chapter, the church at Ephesus is commended for
"hating the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate"

and the church in Pergamos is blamed "So hast thou also them
that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans".

Several of the early church fathers, including Irenaeus, Hippolytus,[2] Epiphanius, and Theodoret
mentioned this group, and stated that the deacon Nicolas was the author of the heresy and the sect
I have searched for information on the Nicolaitans but have not found much.. I was wondering if you have any good links on the subject.... Anyone..

Not sure if what I am offering would apply . My two cents

Nicolaitanes I would offer means residents of the city of Nicole as the founder or Philippians residents of the city of Philippi named after its founder Philip. Just as Christians denotes residents of the city of Christ, the new heavenly Jerusalem, with Christ as the founder used to represent a body or a church/sect.

The problem was men were putting their faith in that seen, (Nicole), and not walking by faith .They had left their first love, the hearing of faith by which they could believe God who has no form.

It was a call of repentance to the believer calling them to do the first works of God who worked in them (believe God) our first love, being awakened by the hearing of faith (hearing God not seen) and not Nicole as one seen. It would seem to be a warning to all churches /sects not to have the faith that comes from hearing God in respect to any man.

We are not to put man on a pedestal, even Christ as the son of man resisted men having a faith in respect to that seen. He said only God not seen is good.

It was a struggle even for the Apostles who when they did not understand the spirutl meaning of a parable they would reject the presence of the son of man and begin the fleshly game of.. "who is the greatest".Christ informed them . Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. I believe it was the same manner as the Nicolaitans , walking by sight

Surely all can see that this would maybe have been better placed in a growing in Christ type forum rather than bible discussion and leave off on the debate in a thread that debate should not enter into? We've all experienced this same feeling that He has disappeared to our senses, haven't we? It's very common among us. We all can offer a help in a matter we ourselves have experienced, can't we?
