I can imagine your disappointment. It was not my intention to cause you to have a bad day or to get you upset. I merely was expressing that I disagreed with your OP by what the Word of God says. You can be like....

"well... I disagree."

Or you could have been like...

"Well, I think the context of this passage says this instead."

But that is not what happened. We have to understand that not everyone is going to agree with what we say and we cannot control people's conversations. Discussion is full of disagreements. Sometimes they are fruitful and other times they are not. I say that with love.

Anyways, may God bless you.
it's ok. *hug* thanks for apologizing. Most of it was just from the shock of it all. I really REALLY thought it was gonna be a nice thread. I'm sorry if I jumped on you.

Dear Sirk:

Also, nowhere do I ever try to make it personal, though. I do not call out a person's name and tell them that they have to do this and that and keep bugging them personally. I try to speak in a third person way with the Word of God as much as possible. I strive to attack the belief and not the person.
ok ok now can we please leave it be?

Please Stop!!! I am exhausted from hearing people arguing over whether someone said something or didn't say anything. I know you guys better than this and I don't believe this type of attitude is what Christ would want to hear his children treating their brothers and sisters. I am far from perfect and struggle with showing God's love all the time and I know my bible tells me to love one another as God loves each of us that he sent his perfect son to die for our sins. God is love and I do not see that love being portrayed here and I know you all know how. I just want peace and I don't like arguments and please if you can't say anything that does not reflect Christ in you please don't respond.

I am sorry if I passed judgement on any one of you, but he is a God of peace and love and I want to see that here.
Yes, this has gone on for long enough. Were ruining the thread with this constant fighting. Whatever was said or wasn't doesn't matter now. Live and let live. Agree to disagree. Cease and desist, please.

I agree arguments ruin a thread. But when 95 percent of members disagree, with one member.
That member can't buy a clue...and move along. Thats not kindness, thats self righteousness in my opinion...sad really.
Anyway...best wishes to you JF...I'm not ruining your thread. You cant reason with cold people. :(

You nailed it. Christianity is VICTORY from His VICTORY on the Cross.

It is not our striving and enduring........from our sin. It is striving and enduring In His victory over our sin.

It makes no sense to our carnal mind.......give up on fighting sin and live in His victory over it.

Son conscience and not sin conscience. It is the freedom and the life Christ talks about.

Jason...there are times when I think I am too tough on you.... but there are other times when I think to myself that I have spent much more time framing my world view in the trenches than you have so I become bold with you...like a big grizzly bear. You're half way there....you Know scripture well but you have yet to grasp: Galatians 6:2

It instructs us to carry each others burdens. This is an important aspect to being another's friend. It implies that we are to "win the right" to speak into another's life by meeting a need or needs. Although knowing your bible is vitally important, it is equally important to be wise as to another's circumstance and or mental state. Simply plowing them into the ground with scripture is an immature approach and can be hurtful. A wise disciple knows that credibility is the key to winning hearts for Jesus.

If you can accept what I tell you as truth, then you and I might be able begin on a different trajectory.

I've been thinking about this today. I think part of the problem is that CC needs a Counseling Forum.
I say this after yesterday and today's objections over some of us using Scripture in an attempt to help but getting called out for it.
This is BIBLE Discussion Forum and the use of Scriptures is what would be expected.
If they are inappropriate for a certain personal situation then perhaps a Counseling Forum would be a better venue.

I think you're right. I guess I sort of always thought of the family forum as the place for that.

I honestly only read the first line of your post here and just stopped. I want to correct you with God's Word, but in the Spirit of peace, and love, I will hold my quoting of Scripture for now.

May God bless you.
And I am praying for you.

I wouldn't of reported him. I can take it. We need to understand, if we believe in true Grace, we had better be careful what we report. Because the next person who gets reported is a grace believer that is debating religion in truth that gets reported and banned.
You're right, Brother, and I take your words seriously. The problem unfortunately is that Phil is abusive all the time and he needs to be called out on it. But I thank you for your insight, as always.

Wise words. And I agree with a lot of what Jason says. I just believe that he is using our experiential sanctification as a way to be saved. We should live, for the most part as he says, just not for salvation or to maintain our salvation. That is the Key. It is why we all but heads.

We live a lifestyle BECAUSE of our salvation. We do not live a lifestyle FOR our salvation.

We cannot live the lifestyle of a Christian APART from being saved. We need the Holy Spirit to live like a Christian should live. If we could lose salvation by our lifestyle, that would mean we could gain salvation by our lifestyle, which is impossible as an unbeliever.

We have the spirit living in us, convicting us and prodding us to make right decisions. I'm a work in progress and as much as I love Jesus, I will never arrive in this life to perfection. I do things pretty dang good sometimes but even at my best I would hesitate to say it was perfect. Thanks be to Jesus for letting me enter into the rest that He earned for me.
