You are a real charmer, Josh.

The epitome of Christian love, charity and tolerance.

and you sir are not saved and yet you hang around here like a dog hoping for some scraps

I see your sarcastic humor injected here and there....and your little pokes...I don't find you a mean man,

It is the teaching and revelation of Jesus Christ. You show me where He "revealed" or "taught" the crap on the video below, Willie, and then explain to me how, if you or any of your church adhere to that nonsense, you can claim any biblical basis for it??

This is hard to watch

It's utter nonsense, unbiblical, probably demonic. Somebody, please, say "That is of Christ." But you should avoid thunderstorms for the next few days, or be ready to duck the lightning.

I am very disturbed by the willingness of some to abandon a fellowship of sorts -- "of sorts" being the point of emphasis, since its cyber-fellowship (and I now wonder if there even is such a thing) -- over differences of opinion regarding interpretation of the Bible. I've been accused of insulting some as "non-Christian" because of their doctrinal beliefs.

Perhaps I have. I've attempted to show why I don't buy the doctrinal stance of their church. I have impugned their faith in that respect, but perhaps if you feel insulted, you need to figure out if you really believe what your church teaches, and if you don't, leave.

And with that, I think I'm gone from here ... permanently. Maybe I'm too opinionated to be a good member of a Christian discussion board. Maybe I don't need the stress relief and good-natured bantering that I thought I got here. Seems to me I wind up "insulting" someone instead of enjoying an intellectual and spiritual exchange.

Either way, I've got some prayerful consideration to do, but if a gun were put to my head today and the question "Will you continue to be a member of CC?" put to me, I'd probably say "Nope. Too much drama, and no real spiritual connection." Bye.
More lying? Are you never shamed by your pitiful attempts at deception?

Listen to this video. At :31 seconds in, the woman clearly tells you this is NOT Toronto. Sure, there are nuts all over this world, but this is not the church at Toronto as you are sneakily trying to get people to believe.

yeah, you know those vids are all over youtube but no responses to the thoughtful and considerate way vigilant has been answered

so you know, stop hiding behind your excuses

I'm a straight shooter...not saying that never got me in trouble...but then again, I don't get in trouble for fooling people either

Oh, just stop trying to soft pedal what you said. You openly and clearly stated that the Vineyard followed FALSE GOSPELS."

If all you had said was that you thought we are weird, and totally different from you, I would have taken that as a compliment, and thanked you for noticing. But you didn't. And what's worse, is that you keep on insisting your words were true.... when, as I've pointed out numerous times, you refuse to go to their site, and come back with anything (of theirs) that says they do not state, explicitly, that the only way to Salvation is through Jesus Christ.

Hey willie...theres a little church on the corner up from me. I did some electrical work there and the pastor invited me to a service so I came. They started dancing in the isles and whatnot and honestly...I felt very uncomfortable and I left. I didn't get it, nor will I probably ever, but I do know that pastor and I do know that he loves Jesus.

Then, by all means, you should not be going to that church. This is why (I believe) there were differences in various congregations in the 1st century, and why there are differences today. People are different, and what is sauce for the goose, may not be for the gander.

Quite a few years ago I saw a documentary on the Toronto thing and it was people running around like chickens with their heads cut off hollering at the top of their lungs and falling on the floor and all kinds of nuttiness.

Please post it, because if there was such going on, I would like to see it. I do know that our denomination (The Vineyard) felt there was something quite wrong, and they removed their support from those people, but I have yet to see this video people speak of. And, believe me, I have searched high and low for it.

Yeah, some things do seem pretty far out.... however, we do follow a Bible where God had a Big Name Prophet walk around, naked from the waist, down for something like three years. And then, He had good old Nebakanezer living in the fields, eating hay like a cow before He restored him.

Me, I'm only willing to say it seems odd to me, and I'd prefer to stay away from it, but not that it definitely isn't God. I'm not that wise and all-knowing that I can decide what God will do, and won't do.

Well, now... let's think about that for a minute.

Suppose God really had some great work for you to do (or me, or anyone... so don't get touchy LOL), but maybe He realized we might be a bit too hooked up on never wanting to look like a fool, for Him to use us as He might need. (Just suppose....... )

What do you think would be the very first thing He might use to humble us? Might not it be actually seeing if we would be willing to allow ourselves to look like a fool for Him?

Remember what Gamaliel, the Elder, told the Sanhedrin? He said, "Be careful, you just might find you have been fighting against God." (and he was right)

Read it again, Lady. It is an imperative, declarative statement that believers WILL pick up snakes and WILL drink poison. You don't get much more "authoritative" than that.
Technically, the longer ending of Mark does not appear in any of the early manuscripts. There is no doubt that there was an ending, but it was lost, and in my opinion, God lost it for a purpose.

So the snake handling, which appears no where else in Scripture as a command, is not valid, because it is an add-on. That's the trouble with the TR or Byzantine manuscripts, too many add ons and embellishments. To say nothing that you should never make a doctrine unless it appears in more than one place, to confirm it.

If you want to argue not to follow Scripture woodenly, this would NOT be the appropriate verse to use.

It's only one of several I have used here, but it IS sitting right there in the book that many people swear is 100% authoritative, and that MUST be followed, without exception........... except, when they have decided they can make an exception. (Sound a little like Catholic rationalization?)

I suppose you need to read it with a good Bible, that brackets the longer end text. Authorative means we can trust God's Word. It doesn't mean the transmission and translation was perfect.

If you read the Greek, UBS has a version which has every single variation on every text in the New Testament. In no case does it make a difference to doctrine. Just small things like spelling differences, missing or added words like articles or prepositions.

It is interesting, about you Willie. You say you believe the Bible is authorative, then you say you do not.

So which is it? The Bible is the Word of God, or it is not?

If God told me to hop around the church like a frog then erm.... I pray that he will help me to do what he has called me to do. He said his strength is made perfect in my weakness, Man id feel pretty damn weak if he said "Jenna, crouch down and ribbit" Id be like Get thee behind me satan haha. Just kidding... I purposely don't think that God would purposely want to make us look like fools, Not in that sense anyway. That just isn't his character xx

Dunno. People laughed at Jesus, hanging on the cross, mocking him, saying "Look at the guy who thinks he's a king... he can't even save himself... what a joke!"

As I keep on repeating, and repeating.... I do not (NOT) think the Bibles we follow (which is what is under discussion here..... not a text most of us will never, ever lay eyes on, let alone understand) are authoritative as most of these posters are using the word.... as "Law." I do fully believe they are inspired, and good for doing some teaching from. But I do think anyone would be making a serious mistake to take every scripture they came across, if they tried to incorporate the particular given thought into their lives.

Doesn't Deuteronomy 14, I think it is, tell us to take the tithe up to the temple, and have a giant party for OURSELVES, right there? Having wine, and everything. And what about the year of Jubilee? Anyone doing that? I don't think anyone ever did. Yet I hear people declaring that if it is written in that book in their hands, it is an authoritative proclamation that has to be followed.

This whole silliness began, I think, (It's been going on so long, I'm not sure.) by someone telling someone that they were bound by anything in that book because it said so... and I said, "No" the Bible is NOT "authoritative" like that.

And if any of us sits here declaring it is, then we must be deliberately refusing to obey God, if we knowingly don't follow everything written.
