This has been a challenging day in this room among folks proclaiming LOVE OF JESUS. A person expect the world to demean, belittle, reject, ridicule and attack a person. It never cease to amaze me that one who is doing the attack is a professing Christian of the Body of Christ. A demonic spirit that is trying to divide the Body of Christ , but is portraying oneself of an messenger of ABBA. Why do some many Christians fall for this tactic of strife, division, self righteousness, condemning, judging, carnal flesh, ego, or Christian who is in bondage.
On the conduct of disagreement I think 2 timothy 2:24-5 has something to say..

"the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves"

Where is that meekness? does not often surface here!

Well the thing I see most in the pharisees that John the Baptist and Jesus rebuked is:

They were completely self-righteously assured of their own salvation by their own works.
They did not understand the true meaning of the Scriptures and law.
They were internally very wicked/hateful and always scheming.
They were Spiritually dead.
And they were all about being above other men.

So the modern day pharisees would be many "priests/pastors/reverends and fathers" who monopolize a group of believers with their boring sermons and keeping everyone in pews while having everyone call them "pastor" and insisting on performing every function of the body of Christ by themselves.

Also, "Christians" who are sinful/spiritually dead (do not bear fruit in keeping with repentance) yet are fully falsely convinced of their salvation because they "believe in Christ"

And "Christians" who go running around to trying to control the unbelieving world through laws and yelling at them for their sins
I read a lot of you saying things like this, and I keep wondering where in the world you FIND churches like this..... and worse still, why on Earth you stay in them.

You have done nothing wrong because honesty with respect is powerful. We as believers suppose to defend the helpless, wound, and those who have been reject by modern country club religion of today. Many folks have been hurt by the church and folks are searching for a House Worship. Have a beautiful, victorious, peaceful and loving day in JESUS CHRIST.
Thank you, my Sister. I am indeed going to have a great day! Be blessed always!

To God be the glory!

Everyone here, for the most part, has quoted Scriptures and issued opinions on how others line up on the Pharisaical/Christlikeness scale, Barna Group did a survey a couple years ago that indicates it is far more likely we, as "average Christians," are more likely the former than the latter. It behooves us to beware of how we paint others in making posts like I've read on here.

You might be interested in the twenty questions questions Barna asked. They are as follows:

  • I listen to others to learn their story before telling them about my faith.
  • In recent years, I have influenced multiple people to consider following Christ.
  • I regularly choose to have meals with people with very different faith or morals from me.
  • I try to discover the needs of non-Christians rather than waiting for them to come to me.
  • I am personally spending time with non-believers to help them follow Jesus.
  • I see God-given value in every person, regardless of their past or present condition.
  • I believe God is for everyone.
  • I see God working in people’s lives, even when they are not following him.
  • It is more important to help people know God is for them than to make sure they know they are sinners.
  • I feel compassion for people who are not following God and doing immoral things.
  • I tell others the most important thing in my life is following God’s rules.
  • I don’t talk about my sins or struggles. That’s between me and God.
  • I try to avoid spending time with people who are openly gay or lesbian.
  • I like to point out those who do not have the right theology or doctrine.
  • I prefer to serve people who attend my church rather than those outside the church.
  • I find it hard to be friends with people who seem to constantly do the wrong things.
  • It’s not my responsibility to help people who won’t help themselves.
  • I feel grateful to be a Christian when I see other people’s failures and flaws.
  • I believe we should stand against those who are opposed to Christian values.
  • People who follow God’s rules are better than those who do not.

So -- how about we all answer those questions and see where we fit? I'll share the Barna poll results with you in about an hour. What you're about to find out about yourself just might surprise you.

I am suppose to be a Light to the World in darkness through the Holy Spirit and love. I am not perfect because I am have fallen short of the Glory of ABBA. When I fall I know to go to the Throne of GOD repenting and asking for forgiveness. Serving in the Kingdom of ABBA is a joy, but why are some Christians feel it is a ball and chain around their necks. Why is the environment of Christians hostile because it should be environment of learning, sharing, uplifting, encouraging, edifying, enduring, and respecting one another in the Body of Christ. Many Christians are from different denominations with different doctrines or interpretation of men. There is one common denominator which is JESUS CHRIST the SON of GOD who saved us all on the CROSS during Crucifixion. Are there modern day Pharisees who follow the law and condemn others because others do not believe like they do? The Sacred Word is the Breath(Ruach) of ABBA.
What's left of the teachings of the Pharisees is now codified in the Mishnah. There are no Pharisees left, but Orthodox/Ultra Orthodox Judaism's teachings are descendent in various ways from the teachings of the Pharisees.
