I like this idea and I did this with Mt7 but it quickly fell off the first couple pages. I gave my thoughts on the passage and asked for others views.

i didn't agree with your understanding of scriptures but didn't want to waste time explaining why because I doubt you would listen without getting offended. which is why i did not post on that thread.

but i'll read it more carefully and tell you why since i can't seem to go to sleep anyways....

i get froggy sometimes because I love yahweh but its hard to offend me, we all have our views and I do stand firmly on mine, but every man has free will, who am I to force another? we can reason and debate, I have no problem with that. I chose that verse because I think it is IMPORTANT and strong, and if you hold my view or not I think its a verse that may not bet "soft on the ear" but it is something we must take seriously if we wish to enter yahweh's Kingdom.

parise Yahweh!

Well, this was what I was trying to avoid, less things of this nature., and more scripture like what you posted from the Minor Prophets.

I look at your question, this way : maybe a over simplification , but God chose Paul, and God is the Author. Regardless of what Paul knew so much about what scriptures were at his time or would be, God is the one leading and guiding His own plans for everything that includes His words to us.

Also, factor in the scripture simply reads " All scripture from inspiration of God.". It factors in all scripture from God . We know that as the Old testament and the New that even has Paul's writings of Christ and Christs teachings of from what He contributed and was used by God as the others that were used by God to get His message together to us.

I understand people some times have legitimate questions about things, but this is the sort of thing i wish there was a separate Forum for. We could call it, "ramble about things other then what the scriptures teach forum" :) something like that
Brother, remember that I simply "posed a question." Did not offer an answer/opinion. Let me do that now. As I read the passage of Scriptures in question, this is what I "receive" from them.

Even though the Apostle had no way to know that his Epistles would ONE DAY become part of Holy Scripture, and a large part of what we know as The New Testament, GOD DID! If anyone doubts that Scripture is "God inspired," here is the proof. That being said, the passage written does give us an insight into the thoughts of the Apostle at the time he was writing his Epistles, and that can help us understand the context in my opinion.

I don't know anyone who disagrees with 2nd Timothy 3:16, and the ONLY WAY to see the prophetic value of the Apostle's writings is that it was God inspired in my opinion.

To your concerns: How exactly do you wish to conduct a Bible Study? A study of Scripture? If we don't select a Scripture, or passage of Scriptures, post them, and then offer our opinions as to what is being taught/said, how else would we do it?

The mistake we make is in "assuming" what others believe without their having posted what they believe or think Scripture is saying/teaching.........it's kinda like when the Apostle said something like: be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger......and NOW you see that I do not disagree with you, and your concerns were not necessary........ :)

God bless

Another thought would be concerning 2nd Timothy 2:15........studying the Word.......seems to me (my opinion) this is speaking of the importance of new believers, well ---- all believers really, to study God's Word, and in that way they are able to grow and mature as believers..........if they study with a sincere and contrite heart, and trust the Holy Spirit to impart understanding to them, they will grow........Paul spoke of those dining on milk and honey, and not yet being able to stomach meat.......and I thing this goes to that teaching...........the more we learn of God's Word, the more able we are to dine on the "meat" of His Word..........now, that's just my thoughts......

Hmmm, you don't know me, I am not offended by another's thoughts on scripture. I may not agree, but am not offended...

Psa 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

I want to sugest that future threads be more geared to study of scriptures.. There are threads thay aer started for various reasons, little to do with what is actually writen in the Bible.. Can we have more of these threads in the Bible foum???? And how about less of us.
Actually, I think this is a great idea. The scriptures you quote in post #5 are absolutely right on the mark.

In my opinion we do so by reading the Scripture, and then exchanging our idea of what the Scripture is saying or teaching......now, we may not always agree, but that is how we learn...........
