Ro 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
7 ¶ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

If the above were all Jesus or the bible had to say about the matter, then that would be the end of it, but anyone who will read the scriptures for themselves will see that this is not the case. It is the truth to say that Christ and others taught that love is the fulfillment of the law in the New Testament. It is a lie to insinuate that by this statement of truth they intended in any way shape or form to nullify the authority of any of the ten commandments of God. They simply did no such thing. In fact, they did just the opposite.
Please read this article Obey the Old Testament? which shows many relevant verses which prove we are not under the 10 commandments.
Please pay attention to what it says about the 10 commandments

Exodus 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Are we under this covenant or as Christians are we under a NEW covenant? The ten commandments is the OLD covenant given to the Israelites to follow and obey.
Know you not that i could keep the 10 commandments perfectly and still go to Hell? i could keep the 10 commandments perfectly and hate my brother, and because of that hate, will not enter into Heaven. i could keep the 10 commandments perfectly and not forgive another, and because i do not forgive another, will not enter into Heaven.
Know you not the 10 Commandments is all about Do's and Don'ts. The entire OLD covenant is about Do's and Don'ts. Laws, obey them or else. The new covenant is a heart issue, not about Do's and Don'ts.
Under the Old Covenant (10 commandments) When a person stole from another person, they committed sin, because there is a commandment that says "Thou shalt not steal"
Under the New Covenant (Love one another) When a person stole from another person, they committed sin, because they failed to love the person they stole from. ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the commandment Thou shalt not steal, it is because they failed to love is why they sinned, NOT because they broke one of the 10 commandments that was given to the Israelites to follow under the Old Covenant.
Anyone who teaches you must keep the Ten Commandments, does not know the Truth of what the New Covenant is all about. Jesus never once told a Christian to keep the Ten commandments, Not one Apostle ever taught us Christians to keep the 10 commandments. Isn't that strange, that people today are so adamant about teaching people to keep the 10 commandments, yet Jesus nor any Apostle ever taught such a thing. That is strange indeed. Because those who teach such things, teach a false doctrine that Jesus nor any Apostle ever taught. Do not listen to them, they do not know the Truth.

The Holy Spirit uses the word to convict. otherwise there would be no need for the word as it is written,

2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The word is from the Holy Spirit,

Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Joh_16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The word is truth it is about Jesus, the spirit then convicts by the word.

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

listening to ACTS 2 being read on the biblegateway site

it is wonderful, enlightening, simple, pure and true.

and the first thought of revelation concerning this is

that most people haven't ever gotten TO ACTS 2,

not just the world/ people of the world (although it is that sort of)

but even those who call themselves christian -

they have never gotten as far as ACTS 2, let alone therefore been able to live out

God's Will for their lives. (and for those readers who are humbly seeking God's Kingdom, don't

be surprised if the people around you have told you a story, that tries to keep you from finding

out God's Will for your life, as this is the by far the most widespread deception on earth (saying and doing

everything to keep anyone from finding God's Kingdom) , by far. so don't let them/ anyone/ keep you

from reading God's Word daily and diligently praying and seeking His Face while there is still time).

Isayah 59:21, "As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says Yahweh: My Spirit which is upon you, namely My Word (Instructions) which I have put in your mouth; they will not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your seed, nor from the mouth of your seed's seed, says Yahweh: from this time and forevermore."

Daniyl 7:25, "And he will speak great words against Yahweh, and will wear out the saints of Yahweh, and think to change times and Laws..."

2 Thess 2:6-12, "For the mystery of iniquity (secret initiation of lawlessness*) is already working, but the One restraining him will continue to restrain him, until he is made to appear in the midst. And then that lawless one will be revealed, whom Yahshua will remove with the breath of His mouth, and make powerless with the appearance of His coming-- Whose coming is according to the energy of Satan, who works with all power, and signs, and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of sin in those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason, Yahweh will send them strong delusion, that they would believe the deception, In order that all those may be judged as not having believed the truth, but as having delighted in sin."

4 Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, But the Seventh Day is the Sabbath of YHWH your Heavenly Father. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your wife, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor the stranger who dwells within your gates. For in six days YHWH made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them; and rested the Seventh Day. Therefore, YHWH blessed the Sabbath Day, and dhallowed it; YHWH made the Sabbath Day holy.

Hebrews 4:1-11, "Therefore, since a promise of entering His rest remains, let us fear so that none of you should come short of it. For this message was preached to us, as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not benefit them, because they did not share in the faith of those who obeyed-- However, we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: So I vowed in My wrath, They will not enter into My rest, although the works were finished from the foundation of the world, For He spoke in a certain place of the Seventh Day, in this way: And YHWH rested the Seventh Day from all His works. And in this place again: If they will enter into My rest. Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, Again, He designates a certain day, saying in David: ''Today,'' after so long a time, as it has been said: Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. If Yahshua (ben Nun) had given them rest he would not have spoken afterward of another day. Therefore, there remains the keeping of the Sabbath (word G#4520) to the people of YHWH, For he who has entered into His rest (word G#2663) has also ceased from his own works, as YHWH did from His. Therefore, let us be zealous to enter into that rest (word G#2663), so that no one may fall after the same example of unbelief."

Mattithyah 12:12, "And how much more valuable is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is Lawful (PURPOSE) to do righteousness on the Sabbath.

Isayah 56:1-7, "This is what YHWH says: Keep the judgments, and do justly; for My salvation is near, soon, to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them; and keeps his hand from doing any evil. Do not let the son of the Gentile, who has joined himself to YHWH, speak, saying; YHWH has utterly separated me from His people. Nor let the eunuch say; Behold, I am a dry tree. For this is what YHWH says: To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose those things which please Me, and hold fast to My covenant: I will give to them, in My House, even within My walls, a place and a Name equal to that of sons and of daughters; I will give them the Name of The Everlasting: YHWH; which will not be cut off. Also the sons of the Gentile who join themselves to YHWH, to serve Him, and to love the Name of YHWH, to be His servants--everyone who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them and who holds fast to My covenant--I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My House of prayer..."

Isayah 58:13-14, "If you turn away your foot from breaking the Sabbath: from doing your pleasure; your own business, your own pleasure, on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight; the holy day of YHWH honorable, and will honor Him by not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor engaging in aidle conversation: Then you will find your joy in YHWH; and I will cause you to ride on the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Yaaqob your father--for the mouth of YHWH has spoken it."

Heb 4:2, "For this message was preached to us, as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not benefit them, because they did not share in the faith of those who obeyed. "

Revelation 21:4-8 And YHWH will wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, nor will there be any more pain, for the former things have passed away. And He Who sat upon the throne, said: Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me: Write, for these words are true and faithful. And He said to me: It is done! I am Aleph and Tau, the Beginning and the End. I will give to him who thirsts of the fountain of the water of life freely. He who overcomes will inherit all things; and I will be his Father, and he will be My son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and worshipers of false gods, and all liars, will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone--which is the second death."

5 Honor your father and your mother, so your days may be long upon the land which YHWH your Father is giving you.

Ephesians 6:2-3, "Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with a promise: That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."

6 You shall not murder.

7 You shall not commit adultery.

8 You shall not steal.

9 You shall not bear false testimony against your neighbor.

10 You shall not covet; lust after, your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor

Revelation 22:12-15, "And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work will be. I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who keep His Laws, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and worshipers of gods and everyone who professes to love, yet practices falsehood."

Kayla...the scriptures tell us the laws purpose is to make us all guilty and bring us to Christ...but after we have come to Christ we are no longer under the law.... Legalism does not teach or guide us, love does! In as much as the law is a witness to love, they are helpful but they do not teach us godliness...grace does that. :)

Your argument is nothing new at all, and false at that. Even during the Old covenant, love was a prerequisite for keeping the commandments of God. Your assertion above that one can keep the commandments void of the motivation of love is a lie. You simply do not know what it means to keep the commandments of God. Love for God alone, and love for our neighbor have always been the only true and acceptable motivations for keeping any of the commandments of God. Keeping them in order to be saved is a purely selfish motive, which defeats their entire purpose and divinely intended effect. Are you accusing God of establishing legalism, and putting a system in place for that end to continue century after century after century? No sir, you are mistaken and guilty of maligning the character of God for insinuating the same.

De 30:16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it………………………………………….20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Jos 22:5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Ne 5:5 ¶ And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:

Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. 3 ¶ Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. 4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; 5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. 6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; 7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. 8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

Da 9:4 And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

Love has always been pointed out as the prerequisite to proper observance or obedience to the commandments of God. The New Covenant has not changed this, but demonstrated that love in the life of Jesus Christ the Son of God in our human flesh. He who kept all of the commandments of God through divine love. Just what do you think the New Covenant was established to address? What was the problem Christ came to solve?

Heb 8:6 ¶ But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

The problem with the Old covenant was that the Jews did not keep that covenant because they would not keep God's law. They observed it in order to be saved, which is not by faith, instead of becasue they were saved. They observed it for the purely selfish motive of self preservation, rather than out of love and appreciation for being saved and for their fellow man. Far from making the law void, the purpose of the New Covenant is to write that very law upon our hearts. Expalin to me please, how ignoring that very law brings this about, as you deceptively suggest? Observe the scriptural testimony for the purpose of Christ, that is God, becoming one with fallen humanity.

Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. 7 ¶ Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. 8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ came to accomplish the will of God in our fallen human flesh, because we could not. He perfectly obeyed the commandments of God, because we could not. He did this to help establish God's law within our hearts as already observed in scripture, not so we could ignore that very law. You preach a false gospel which denies the very thing scripture testifies Christ came fulfill and perform as the new head of all humanity. He came to correct the fall of Adam who disobeyed God, not perpetuate that fall through willing disobedience.

Ro 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 ¶ And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Did Jesus fulfill the law by ignoring it? Nor can the law be fulfilled in any professed belevier who chooses to ignore the same. We will either enter into the experience of Christ by faith, or we will not be one of His own.

Mt 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Mt 16:24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Yes I do agree. But the 10 Commandments are a guide to how we should live. :)

Why would someone who has the law God requires them to keep written on their mind and placed on their heart, need to read the literal words of the Ten Commandments to be guided as to how God wants them to live. Please explain

Ro 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Do you want faith, then study the word of God.

2 Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
3:1 ¶ I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Yet here you are suggesting no one needs to read the Ten Commandments of scripture. Do you know how much of the scriptures are pertaining to, and addressing the topic of God's law. The entire bible is in relation to humanities breaking of God's law, and the redemption we need as a result of the same. Yet here you are suggesting no one even needs read or know the Ten Commandments. What do you think has brought you to this point of discouraging the reading of large portions of scripture? Do you really suppose it is a quest for upholding truth that leads you to do so?

2Co 3:6 ¶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Legalism is not obedience ...faith working by love is!

As you have responded to my post, could you answer the question it concerns?

BTW
I have read the NT at least 50 times and the entire bible three times. I would encourage every Christian to read it avidly, but that does not affect the point my question raises does it

Must a born again Christian read the literal words of the Ten Commandments in order to know it is wrong in God's sight for them to commit adultery, steal, murder, covet etc
faith comes by hearing the word of God...

At some point you guys need to grow up and get past not stealing from folks and learn how to love as God has commanded you...learn how to give from a heart of love....the law cannot teach you that! Grace in Jesus Christ.. does!
