Solidground,
If you are saying that all men are saved from hell, you'd be wrong.
Never stated it, nor implied it. However, in light of the discussion with EG, he does not believe Christ saved all men from death and sin. If Christ did not save the world, mankind from death and sin, then hell nor heaven even have a purpose. Man was condemned to death, physical death, through Adam, Gen 3:19, Rom 5:12. Unless Christ restores life to man and the world, there is no existence of heaven or hell.
Man, every single human being would simply be dissolved by death, return to dust, as would the world. Christ came to restore the world back to God, reverse the fall, so that God and man could be rejoined in an eternal relationship for which we were created to have and to have it freely.
The gift of eternal life is our inheritance if we follow, obey, are conformed to His Image in this life. If we do not fulfill our purpose of existence we will NOT inherit eternal life but be assigned to hell.
I do think that you have misunderstood some of what Christ came to do,
If you think I have misunderstood the early Church, scripture as it was given, by all means point it out to me.
Just take it down a notch. Try to get your point across without telling the other person that they are denying Christ by disagreeing with you.
It is NOT my view. It is the understanding of the Church, of Scripture as it was given ONCE in the beginning. It is the Gospel of Christ that has been preserved by the Holy Spirit unchanged from the beginning.
Unity is found in being one with Christ,
It is found in Christ but the one same Christ as He revealed Himself to man. Not all the man made christ's established by false suppositions, and philosophical concepts.
