Good point JesusChica. I did say Near death experience. I heard of a similar story of a young child. and it baffled scientists, Doctors and non believers. I believe that God can gives us these things, I can understand how some people of the world would not believe in such thing or they make up, or interpret it all wrong. But with God all things are possible, so why not Near death experience? and yes of course I would like to see someone ask that young child, was it all in her mind? or that she made it all up, in the time of a critical near death experience, where how can one's mind think of such thing when in pain, or suffering or hurting? I mean fair enough if people don't believe, then fine, they don't believe. but for someone to say its all made up, and contradicts his comments, needs to re think himself. don't you think?
Waht works for one does not necessarily work for the other, so I look for the common denominator Jesus Christ crucified and risen from the dead bodily. His Spirit never died and took with him that thief that believed that very day to Heaven in the Spirit

This is almost exactly like my friend told me he experienced. Except he was not a Christian, and it didn't convince him to be one. He had never experienced love as a child and always felt unloved, but the light at the end of the tunnel accepted him just as he was and loved him. He did not want to go back to his body, but the light told him he had work to do, he must go back. He never understood that work was to accept Christ and be washed clean, he passed on ten years later without understanding.

However, he was an alcoholic. As soon as a clinic opened that morning, he enrolled and never had another drink.
And as far as youknow he never accepted, but in Christ, God knows and from waht i hear he is safe and secure in the almighty

After Googling NDEs, I found that they are common around the world, and the experience of
each person is to see what they expect to be, in their culture. Christians see one, Hindus another,
Muslims another.

Mohammed says he visited the 7 levels of Paradise in his NDE. The vast variety of experiences
really indicates they are physiological, and unique to the person, and not any indication of any
paradise, or even a life after death. There would need to be an enormous number of Heavens
to suit all the beliefs about the hereafter.

The mammalian reproduction process wastes 50% of those conceived in natural abortions.
Which would populate Heaven with zygotes and blastocysts equal in number to the saved with
their robes and harps.

Just stopping and never experiencing anything at death is repugnant to many people I guess,
so they grasp at the fantasy of a life after death.

It seems I always believed, but I was never quite sure until the Holy Spirit entered into me, and since then, I am convinced, of our Father's love for us all and that I needed salvation. Jesus Christ is Lord, amen.

Before that wonderful moment, I had always kind of believed, I know because when I was 14 I was in a pick-up truck with my cousin, rest his soul, driving like a race car driver, the truck went into a skid and tumbled end over end. While it was crashing, though the time elapsed was very short, I found myself saying, though not really in words, "Here I come!" Everything was quite bright, but suddenly I was hurting from head to toe with 185 lbs. of cousin on top of me, and I was upside down. As I became conscious of being still there it was as though someone said to me, "Not yet dummie." Now that may or may not be an NDE. Later in like I had something similar, an out of body experience. No matter, none of that has ever been important since I became a servant of Jesus, Yeshua,
God bless all in Jesus Christ, amen..........

This whole thread sounds like jealousy! The OP wants to know why some have this, and others do not. Perhaps most of us have not had NDE because we have never nearly died!

In my chaplaincy, I had three men in my Bible study, all in power wheelchairs who claimed NDE. They were all totally transformed by the experience, but none survived without severe consequences. I was glad they shared their stories, but glad I had never been in a position where I had a NDE and had .

Because Jesus says:

"Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29

I am blessed, because I have not seen Jesus in a NDE and yet I believe with my whole heart. I do hope to see Jesus one day, as the Bible promises:

"Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:2

In other words, in answer to the OP's question, do we need to see Jesus, or can we be content to wait to see him when he returns??

Don't have time to read all the posts but here is my two cents worth of NDE:
People that have these experiences are almost always NOT SAVED. It is by the grace of God only, that they do not die...obviously He is not done with them and desires them to be members of His Kingdom before dying! My question to y'all is this: WHO is it that comes as an angel of light? What are people drawn to in these NDE?? the LIGHT!! The light that people see in a NDE is the light that Satan puts forth to DECEIVE people...it is his hope that they will choose to die, going toward his lying light and so be destined to eternal hell. Consider that we never hear the truth of the destination by those that see the light and DO go toward it and die!
Saved people that have had a 'NDE" ALWAYS are able to identify any being they see or converse with as either the Lord or His angel.
Think about it! IF you have a NDE and see only a light, beautiful and bright, blah blah, you'd best return to your body, deal with the pain and get right with God. Because God is not a God or author of confusion, leaving one to guess that it might be Him. He will Always identify Himself to His children.

LOL Why would I be Jealous? Got a laugh at your comment. But Fairplay, for your instant reaction to your notion of the way it sounds to you. But God bless. little advice before you make your assumptions, have a little thought to maybe ask the OP., what they meant by there question? you never know they may explain. before you make your assumptions. lol

So here is the answer to your assumption. No I'm not jealous, it was a question not of doubt, like I mentioned in the thread. it was a question that came to mind when I watched a few stories and read a few stories about NDE. But I noticed it was not everyone that had it or if they had it, they didn't share the story. or that not everyone was having them. whether you are saved or not. Hence why I asked the question. it was more of a wonder type question. Like I wonder why? or wonder what? so I decided to put it out there for anyone to share there thoughts and NOT ASSUMPTIONS, of how it sounds to you lol. So there you go. I saved you of thinking to ask me to explain my question. God bless. Its all good.

It's not a select few... it's numbers. Think about everyone on the planet right now, what are we 7 billion? Roughly 80 percent follow some faith, and roughly a third of those are Christian (or claim to be) That's about 1.8 billion Christians. In the world, there is about 1 death every 12 seconds, so a Christian dies roughly every 46 seconds. A study I found online recorded that near death experiences happened to 12% out of 314 patients resuscitated after suffering cardiac arrest. According to the American Heart Association only about 8% of people who suffer a cardiac arrest survive (if they are treated outside a hospital). Let's make a guess to say that anyone who faces death has about a 10% chance of being resuscitated, which means that only about 0.012% have a near death experience (of those who survived). So in a year, about 686,000 Christians die and about 8,000 have a near death experience.
Now my math may be WAY OFF, but I don't really care, and that was kind of a fun exercise so ya.

It was the caps on the first part, and the pathetic sigh on the second part of the title.

Like:

"Everyone else gets to have a NDE, why not me??" Whine.

I did not mean it as an insult, and perhaps I should be more circumspect next time.

I will say, a man name John Piper, who was a Baptist preacher wrote a book about his NDE called "90 minutes in Heaven" He was clinically dead in a car accident and has suffered terribly and the book comes to no conclusions about why he had to come back. I thought it was an interesting book to read on the topic. So not all NDE's are unsaved people!

This is the original question: Why is it, that its a selected few that has these experiences and not everyone? In Caps? In bold yes not in CAPS,, ooops I mean caps.

were does it say "Everyone else gets to have a NDE, why not me??" Whine? Totally different words used in the original post right? Do you normally go round saying things that people Didn't Say? or is this just a phase? If it was about me, which it's not, I would certainly say. But the question says, Why is it, that its a selected few that has these experiences and not everyone? and not what you assumed. Noticed EVERYONE PART?? So does EVERYONE means just me now? hmmm. broaden your mind a bit. it was a simple question I put out there. and funny how you read it wrong and not everyone else. Anyways I am not upset. Just amused the fact how people think and how they like to derail the questions or threads to suit there thoughts. God bless.

Ask those who had the NDE. I guess it happend to help them to change their mind. I was a personal convertion. I have written to Dr. Kent and Ian Mc Cormack, as well others who appeared on the book. But, why God chose Moses and not me to update the Bible? Why not being shown, above on the sky, with marvelous thunders and whatever thing could change my unbelieving ways?
