Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Part of this comes from honoring your father and mother. If a child obeys his parents when he grows up he will fear and obey the Lord.

The old sin nature is like the crysalist. A catapiler when the time is right will twist and spin itself into a cocoon. That's like our old nature, living in darkness. Then in God's perfect timing the crysalist begins to open and out comes a beautiful butterfly. That's our new creation. The old sin nature is now begining a new life. The old has gone the new has come. It (we) are now free and can now live a life In Christ. To live as that new creation which is a process you need to line up every area of your life with God's word. The Lord will guide you in this . The old lin nature died on the cross with Jesus.

Old sin nature? would that be the same thing as the sinful flesh spoken of in Romans and Galatians?

It's the inclinations of the old man which manifests itself in doubts, coveteousness, pride, self sufficiency and such.
It's the nature of the 'old man' which we are to reckon dead at Calvary and are also to deny through the working of the Spirit.
I know that last part sounded a little contradictory but that's how Scripture lays it out

I believe so. The closest I could come to Biblical reference is Genesis 3.

Gen 3:15 KJV - And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

I had found that it was imputed into the male DNA.

the old sin nature is nothing more than our human nature. Human nature puts self above all others. It is out of this lust to please and serve self that sin comes. even after we are saved.

The sinful nature of man is a concern to those who have not been taught the saving power of Christ in its perfection. Too many continue to struggle with sin as though it were some great power that still keeps us from God. Salvation is perfected.
Before being saved we were all slaves of sin. We loved it and lived for it and practiced it.
Jesus said we must be born again. That new creature is freed from sin. The Holy Spirit will not dwell in unrighteousness. We have been washed clean and the sinful nature has been defeated. We are no longer slaves to sin but to righteousness. We no longer love and live in slavery. Now we live to be righteous as God desires. Yes, we will fail, but that failure diminishes and eventually disappears as we grow closer to God. We have been forgiven and look forward to the day we are in God's presence, just as Adam was. We were saved, we are being saved and we will be saved.

So why is it that the Father, and not man, had to give Jehovah a body?

I don't think that's what it means, that "it was imputed into the male DNA" (it being sin?)

1. because DNA doesn't work that way. you get half from mom and half from dad, therefore Mary would have some of Adam's DNA in her.

2. sinful flesh refers to the current human body and how after Jesus died He got a new Resurrected body, because this body we now have is going to die and decays every day.

3. however God is able to give life and meaning to this flesh by having us be living epistles to the world

4. the Genesis passage is speaking of spiritual not physical SEED.

Romans 8:2-4

King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]2 [/SUP]For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
[SUP]4 [/SUP]That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Apostle Paul often talked about the old sin nature and flesh and how we shouldn't allow it to rule our mortal bodies (basically do not allow it to control you).
The old sin nature is simply the fallen Adamic nature we inherited that brings the propensity to sin and is enmity against God. Even though sin was dealt with on the cross, after salvation selfish desires may want to creep in thus making us to yield to temptations. However as believers, because of the indwelling Holy Spirit, we are enabled to put off the old man and overcome sin.
:)
Eph 4:22-24

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Col 3:5-10
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The early church never taught the sin nature false gospel, I would encourage you to study early church history before you try and conclude man was born depraved, God made man upright, but he sought out his own ways, another words God has given all His creation free will and ability to choose to repent and follow Him, or not!

ORIGINAL SIN + SUBSTITUTION = A LETHAL COMBINATION!
Ecc 7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
The unanimous teaching coming out of the pulpits, seminaries, Christian colleges, and churches today, are that you were born a sinner, inherited this sin nature from Adam, and will always be a sinner, as it’s a disease, and inbred into your physical body! Then they come up with a way out of this inbred sin nature, and invented the great covering, aka, substitution. Many denominations, and ministries will say, that Jesus was a substitutional sacrifice for all our sins, thus He is the remedy for our sin diseased body and nature!
Both seem to go together well, one is the disease and the other is the cure, the only problem with this, is that it isn't in the word of God. God made us in His image, perfect in all our ways, until iniquity was found in us, He gave mankind free will and ability to choose between good and evil, Jos 24:15 And if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.
He told Cain, that sin is at the door and he should rule over it, thus making the so called sin nature disease a myth, concocted by Augustine and the Gnostic cult!
Many are under the delusion that Jesus took their place on the cross, and as soon as they accept Him into their heart, they are now covered, all sins are forgotten, and they are cured from the sin disease they inherited from Adam, thus all sins are forgotten, and they will always be a poor helpless sinner saved by grace.
Now God made it clear, we were born upright, we choose to disobey Him and sin, Adam brought sin into the world, but in no way was it inbred into our flesh. The truth is that we all sinned against God, Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and spiritual death came upon us, as all have sinned, but the remedy God put fourth wasn't for His son to take our place, or to leave us IN sin, but to be a spotless sin offering, Heb 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ (who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God) purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Jesus came to die on our behalf, not in our place,Mar 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. He paid a ransom, to ransom mankind from the corrupting influence of sin, Act 26:18 in order to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, so that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.
So to put the truth back in its rightful place, instead of original sin, followed by substitution, followed by sins pre forgiven, it can now be repentance and faith proven by deeds, 2 Cor 7-10-11, followed by remissions of sins, by coming to the mercy seat of Christ, cleansed and purged of all dead works,(sins) Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

Now we come with our flesh crucified with Christ, Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And that life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself on my behalf. Walking in the power of the sprit, cleansed and purged from all defilement, through our free will choice and ability, to obey from the heart in all humility and brokenness, before an all Holy God, who created us in His perfect image, and made one way back to Him, through repentance, and a working faith in love. Now set free to keep the righteous requirements of the law. Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor un circumcision has any strength, but faith working through love.
Now having cleansed ourselves in repentance, Acts 3-19, we now can receive the Holy Spirit, and the power of Christ, Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Walking in newness of life, and following the example of Christ, thus living a life in purity, sincerity, and love. Not making Christ our covering for our sins, but putting them to death in repentance first, because we have free will and ability, to serve Him, through the power of the spirit, breaking down all the strongholds that are keeping you captive to sin and disobedience!
You can now see why original sin and substitution are a lethal combination, they take away the power of the cross to free man from the bondage's of sin, once and for all, thus leaving mankind in a huge dilemma, of a life of sin, worldliness, and utter confusion, as to why they cannot stop sinning against God, making excuses, and adding the doctrines of men. These doctrines have no power over sin and the devil.
We must come out and be separate, touch not the unclean things of this world, abstain from all forms of evil, resist all temptation, stand fast, be pure in heart, and walk a life worthy of our calling. Being obedient to Christ through a working faith, built on love and submission to His commands and His example. Joh 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Jesus died to set the captives free once and for all, giving us a free will choice to repent, and be converted, or live the lie, making Him a substitute instead of a sacrifice, to set mankind free from the bondage's of sin and disobedience! Joh 8:31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed on Him, If you continue in My Word, you are My disciples indeed.
Joh 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The truth is original sin and substitution are lies, they were added to the pure word during the reformation, by men corrupting the simple message of the gospel. So make the right choice, repent and touch the blood of Christ, following His example set forth in scripture. Reject added fables of mere men, love the truth at all cost, and remember Jesus said, “The few of the few will enter into the Kingdom! Luk 13:23 And one said to Him, Lord, are the ones being saved few? And He said to them,
Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the narrow gate. For I say to you, many will seek to enter in and shall not be able.

the truth is Tommy you don't understand the teaching of total depravity or these verses:

Romans 5

[SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— [SUP]13 [/SUP](For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. [SUP]14 [/SUP]Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. [SUP]15 [/SUP]But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. [SUP]16 [/SUP]And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
the concept of total depravity just teaches that without God man can do nothing good.

answer this: why do all people choose to sin?

could it because of the lust of their flesh, pride of life, lust of the eye?

to all those who are main debaters of this subject,

don't you all see that we all are saying that one cannot habitually walk contrary to God's leading. Don't you all see this? We can fall and we must repent, and this is why we are given a Helper who is not only our Schoolmaster, but also our Coach on our faith's running track.
