Liars, they say they 'know' Him, yet their 'fruit' tells us something different, just like the vipers and serpents of Jesus's Time.. no different today.. still the same serpent behind the 'mask'. indeed
Yes, exactly. They are liars because their deeds do not match up with what they are saying. One has to have the fruits of the Spirit to show that they are of God. Folks can say they are of God, but the way they speak and treat others gives them away every time.

Her posting of the verses did not disprove the plain straight forward reading of the verses I posted. In other words, it does not prove your interpretation. Jesus says.... they should do Abraham's works if they were of their father Abraham. Jesus said..... if they were of God then they would obey His Word. They didn't obey His Word so they were not of God. Thou Shalt Not Kill (Murder) is not the only Command given to us by God. Yes, they wanted to kill Jesus. But Jesus even said the lusts (plural) they would do of their father in verse 44. So this is talking about how they are doing many different sins and how they are not obeying God's Word. Obeying God's Word would not just be forbidng to murder or pride alone. That doesn't make any sense.
it makes perfect sense if you read THE WHOLE CHAPTER WORD FOR WORD. I take the Bible for what it says. I do not dis-miss, cut and paste, leave out verses to make a point. their is a word for this. it is called heresy.

Again, with the... "You need to read the whole chapter" statement. That is a cop out phrase. If you knew where exactly in that chapter it disproves what I shown to you in Scripture, then you should have no problem pointing out the verses or words that make such a thing so. But I have already mentioned more than enough verses to disprove your viewpoint on these passages (Which doesn't make sense ~ BTW).

o.k, so you are saying I should not READ the Bible. this just made the top of the things-I-never-thought-I-would-see list. I am being chastised for reading and taking meaning from the Bible as whole. Jason, this is gotton beyond ridiculous. good day and good luck to you sir.

No, I am asking you to show me where you are getting your viewpoint from. What words... what verses? Shouldn't be hard to do if you are claiming what you are claiming.

Your right! Salvation does not rely on your works. Salvation relies upon God doing His good work within you. Christ (God) is the source of one's salvation (1 John 5:12). For he that has the Son has life and he that does not have the Son does not have life. So if Christ lives in a person, then good fruit will naturally flow thru their life. Jesus said we will know false prophets by their fruits (i.e. deeds). So if one's deeds are not matching up with their profession of faith, then they are a false prophet (whereby they need to get their heart right with God).
Jason, Just for thought:

Who renews their mind? . . . Who has to put off the old and put on the new? Who has to control thoughts and cast down vain imaginations? We do . . . it is not automatically done once we are born again . . . . it is a process. Let's say I'm walking along, everything's fine but all of a sudden I am outside the "boundaries" - I cross the line and it takes me a while to get back toward the "center" . . . If I die before I get back to the "center" . . . What happens to me? Does God remove that spirit that He created in me that was given by "birth" by His incorruptible seed?

Good fruit = fruit of the Spirit - Correct?

If I didn't know any better, I would think you were a Works Salvationist by such statements. But I know that is not the case. You are on the opposite wrong extreme side of the spectrum of that belief. You said before you can be out of fellowship with God and still be saved. Being out of fellowship implies one is out of fellowship because of sin. Which basically means you believe a person can sin and still be saved (Which is Antinomianism or the opposite wrong side of the spectrum in Soteriology).

Anyways, yes, we as believers do need to yield to the Spirit of God. But we are yielding to the work God (Christ) wants to do within us. Paul said he labored more than all his brethren, yet he said he did not labor, but it was the grace of God within him (1 Corinthians 15:10). Meaning, Paul was giving credit to God for the work done in him. For it's why the elders cast down their crowns before Jesus. For Christ deserves all the glory, honor, and power because Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. For we can do all things thru Christ which strengthens us. Strengthens us how? Why are we strengthened? By our own power and might? No. By Christ working in us. Think about it.

The Scriptures at times are written from two different perspectives in regards to works. But ultimately it is God doing the work in you because He is convicting and moving a believer to do His will.

As for the fruit of the Spirit: This is a test of a true believer. Jesus said you will know false prophets by their fruits. Jesus said a good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit and vise versa. Peter even said certain false prophets were those who had eyes full of adultery and could not cease from sin. Most who are in the sin and still be saved camp believe they will forever be a slave to their sin in this life. Which runs contrary to what Scripture teaches.

We must gain knowledge. We do this sometimes by experimenting. Sometimes these experiments turn out to be a sin. If we know God we learn not to do them again. We don't become slaves to sin. We learn from sin. It's called learning from a mistake or from life expirence. That is how God teaches when there is no other teacher to be found. I know a lot about this method!!!

Please take note that Jesus is not white or European. Jesus is Jewish in appearance.
