I cringe every time I read a message like this. If I had to repent over every sin (and let's include worrying - which is lack of faith - anger -words that pop out of your mouth before thinking - selfishness - pride - even idolatry when I go to food instead of God for comfort at times), I would do nothing else with my life except repent.

I would have no time to worship, time to read the bible, rejoice over anything, or serve others.

Actually the only time I probably am not sinning is when I am in deep worship, reading my bible, praying for others, and such.

But yet in real life, the dishes still need to be done when I'm sick. There are people to deal with who demand so much from me.
It is then that all these little sinful thoughts and actions come. And it is then that I am so grateful for God's mercy and grace upon me knowing that I stand under "no condemnation" EVER. I still grieve inwardly when I hurt others or fail to represent Christ, but He just picks me up, dusts me off and says "You will do better next time". And I usually do.

that's why religion never works.

It is too focused on self. and has no time to focus on others.

It looks godly (that's why so many people fall for it) but is not godly..

Only repent and be forgiven when your conscience condemns you. Simple. Rinse and repeat. If your conscience continually condemns you there is a problem with your behavior, or your faith.

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a faith without hypocrisy, 1 Timothy 1:5

and..this is the essence of the message of the D.I.Y. self-performance/self-righteousness/holiness Old Covenant message.....it is essentially against Christ and denying our Lord the finished work of our Lord.

It's very subtle and deadly religion....

I am new to the grace/hypergracre conflict.

There has to be extremes that alarm both sides.

I see some stating their position and they seem middle of the road.

I believe osas concerning covenant.

I believe some in that covenant choose to defect and sever that covenant.

God never initiates the break. Nor does he haphazardly throw humanoids in the LOF.

man went overboard in the garden.
God sent the rescue ship.

Some reject it entirely.

Some jump overboard.

The hyper g adherents seem to think jumping overboard CAN'T HAPPEN.

THAT SEEMS SILLY TO ME

There is a way to lose your salvation ( as if it is "yours" that obtain it for you ).....but you have to be able to use a lot of imagination and have a very ,low opinion of our Lord's sacrifice and the integrity of our Father..( oh brother.. )

John 10:27-30 (NASB)
[SUP]27 [/SUP] "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
[SUP]28 [/SUP] and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.[SUP]29 [/SUP] "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
[SUP]30 [/SUP] "I and the Father are one."

You have to be NOT a "no one"...so no one mean everything one else but you.....

All's you do is wrestle yourself out of Jesus' hand..then once you have Him beat..then you are ready to take on the Father. ( He's a little tougher but you will have experience now on how to pluck yourself out of His hand )

In order to scare Jesus and the Father first you must..I repeat MUST intimidate Them with your mighty power by verbally accusing Them....you can tell them that they lied when He said " I will never leave nor forsake you"

Then because you are in Christ...He is going to have to stop being a High Priest for you..( again God lied when He said He is a priest forever...)

His blood which He spilled for all sins that supposedly have been taken away..that has to stop too being efficacious ....Jesus has to stop being the Lamb of God.

Even in the Old Covenant the priest looked at the lamb for blemishes..not the guy who brought the sacrifice.. the Father looks at Jesus....He is our Lamb! He is spotless and blameless.

.."...as He is..so also are we in this world.."

It's all really ridiculous..our salvation is not based on us..it is based on Jesus and His finished work!..He is faithful and grace much more abounds around sin...it's just plain "spiritual ignorance that has gone to seed " to think of His perfect work and that somehow it revolves around us and what we do.

John 10:28 (NASB)
[SUP]28 [/SUP] and I "give" eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.

Romans 5:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the "gift" of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Romans 11:29 (KJV)
[SUP]29 [/SUP] For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

( Somehow some obscure passages of scripture that people take without looking at it in context nullifies all the vast proof of scriptures that speak otherwise of the integrity of God and HIs completed work....is it possible we have those scriptures interpreted wrong because we look through the wrong "lens"?...of course.. )

Well I could have been clearer, but I didn't feel like it.

We have two natures: one regenerated, and one that cannot possibly be regenerated. Hope that makes it clearer.

Coming to Christ is repentance.

Not turning away from sin. But turning away from your own work of perfecting yourself.

So you can put a list of religious duties that all Christians must perform in order to be 'justified' or 'in fellowship'. But in the end, coming to Christ is what straightens everything out... He is the cause of your obedience, your justification, your being in fellowship, etc..

What grieves God is not giving out words of grace to people..

Ephesians 4:29-30 (NASB)

[SUP] [/SUP] Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

The only time recorded that Jesus was angered ..was when the religious people refused to allow grace to be shown to someone....the religious folk had "their" holiness rules.....and in so..were refusing the grace of God to come to people..but Jesus our Lord stepped in as He always will for us,

Mark 3:4-5 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

Ok I think I see a problem here.

Sin does not grieve the. HS ?

THE ONLY time Jesus was grieved?

Peter?
The disciples?
The 7churches?
The 5 foolish virgins?
The one that hid the talent?

I don't see "grieved" in any of those stories...unless you are meaning another word then grieved...or are "reading" grieved into it..but the word used for "grieved" in the original text has no reference to those passages..

Here is the Peter one...maybe you were thinking about something else..

John 21:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
