Regeneration in Christ, Titus 3:3-7
For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
The Saved in sin, sin everyday crowd knows nothing of this renewing. They have accepted a Provision that provides nothing dynamic or life changing, but only a magic Cover for their sins, but inside they remain vile to the core as before they ‘received’ Jesus. In the passage above being Justified by His Grace has also brought about a ‘washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit’, the body of sin is no longer an issue! The bondage is broken. Grace sets us Free in this Present age! Titus2:11-14

Regeneration (New Birth) is Translated as the following:

new birth, reproduction, renewal, recreation, regeneration
hence renovation, regeneration, the production of a new life consecrated to God, a radical change of mind for the better. The word often used to denote the restoration of a thing to its pristine state, its renovation, as a renewal or restoration of life after death
the renovation of the earth after the deluge
the renewal of the world to take place after its destruction by fire, as the Stoics taught
the signal and glorious change of all things (in heaven and earth) for the better, that restoration of the primal and perfect condition of things which existed before the fall of our first parents, which the Jews looked for in connection with the advent of the Messiah, and which Christians expected in connection with the visible return of Jesus from heaven.

Renewing Means: a renewal, renovation, complete change for the better, as in Rom12:1-2 ‘Transformed by the renewing of your Mind!’

If then a person has been Regenerated and Renewed by the Spirit through Repentance and faith Proven by deeds. (2Cor7:10-11) The WORD itself (Logos, Christ incarnate) has WASHED them from the inside out!

‘that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word’ Eph5:26
You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Jh15:3
WHY were they CLEAN? Because you PURIFY your Heart BY Obedience to the Truth! 1Pet1:22
This wonderful Regeneration and Renewal takes place AFTER a person has Crucified the flesh with its Passions and Desires (Gal5:24) in the Baptism of Repentance, Rom6:4-7

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.
The END Result of Repentance then is:
Body of Sin Done away with
Old man Crucified
No Longer Slave to sin, But FREED from Sin!
Purity of Heart! 2Cor7:11
It was OBEDIENCE from the Heart that Delivered you to this Marvelous Regeneration & Renewal:
Rom6:16But God be thanked that though you were Slaves to sin, yet you OBEYED from the heart that form of Doctrine to which you were DELIEVERED!’

NOW ask yourself an honest question: “HOW can you still be the Chief of sinners, Romans Wretch with a Desperately Wicked heart who sins daily in thought, word and deed and have actually experienced this kind of RENEWAL?”

Something is DESPERATELY Wrong with your Supposed Salvation experience if NONE of this is present in your life now. Read the Passages again, Does any of it sound like this is some kind of Gradual process of sin, repent, sin repent for the rest of your life?

In the Rom12:1-2 Passage it says ‘Be TRANSFORMED’ by the Renewing of your Mind. This word is Metamorphoses, Its what happened to Christ in the Transfiguration! (Matt17:2, Mk2) So it would stand to Reason that the Regeneration of the Holy Spirit is also an instantaneous Metamorphosis of the Mind and spirit of man! That means the Bondage to Sin is broken the Mind is Cleansed and Purged of Lust and your entire Disposition is Changed. Isn’t that the Promise made by God through His Promises:
as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 1Pet1:3-4
Partakers of the DIVINE Nature to ESCAPE the Corrupting influence of Lust! How can a person remain in bondage to lust and evil dispositions of the flesh and ‘have escaped’ it at the same time? Does that make sense to you? Is the Word of God merely saying these things to Mock us as we wallow in our sin and claim Salvation in Christ? I Don’t think so….

Those who Desire the Living Waters of Christ will come and Seek out this Regeneration and FIND it! But those who dream on that a person can be ‘of Christ’ and still be addicted to Sin will end up with nothing.

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Rev22:17
THIS is the Living Water that will Wash, Purify and Regenerate your Soul from all that is vile and corrupt. COME!

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Rom 3:13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips:
Rom 3:14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:
Rom 3:15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood:
Rom 3:16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways:
Rom 3:17 And the way of peace have they not known:
Rom 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Why do people like you always exclusively focus on isolating passages completely out of context in order to argue in favour of perpetual corruption or a perpetual state of unrighteousness? Are you really that blind?

Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Luk 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
Luk 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Eze 14:13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
Eze 14:14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Why did you focus on a half of a complete sentence? Titus 2:14 is only part of the sentence.

This is Titus 2

You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, [SUP]5 [/SUP]to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.[SUP]7 [/SUP]In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness [SUP]8 [/SUP]and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, [SUP]10 [/SUP]and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. [SUP]12[/SUP]It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, [SUP]13 [/SUP]while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, [SUP]14 [/SUP]who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

You left out the part that God's grace TEACHES us to say no to those things. Present tense and on going.

Sarah,

I quoted Tit 2:14 because it speak of PURITY.

I don't deny Titus 2:11-12. Those are wonderful verses. It is God that leads and that is why grace teaches us the way we should go. Jesus lighteth every man that comes into the world.

Without grace teaching us we would be stumbling around in the dark.

Purity is wrought when we YIELD to grace by FAITH. Hence salvation is by grace through faith. Obedience to the truth purifies the heart (1Pet 1:21).

We are "workers together" with God.

2Co 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

Faith a work.

1Th 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

God leads we follow. God is the author of the salvation of all those who obey Him because those who obey Him are made pure.

Heb_5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Act 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

The point was you accused someone else of the very same thing, taking a part of scripture to "prove" your point.

The context is that Titus is to teach them not to do those things not that they have completely quit those things yet but are still working towards that.

If while we seek to be justified in Christ it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does this mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! If I rebuild what I destroyed I prove that I am a lawbreaker
Gal2:16&17

What they say sounds reasonable on the surface, but they do not understand the practical outworking of grace

Paul plainly states that while we seek to be justified in Christ it is evident that we ourselves are sinners
Why does he ask
Does Christ promote sin?
When you come to Christ, much sin can immediately be ceased, sin that has not wrapped itself tightly around you. But what of the rest? What of the deep rooted sin in your life? Obediance comnes from faith(Rom1:5)
You have to exercise that faith in Christ to see victory. How can you do that, if you have to crucify your flesh to be acceptable to God, its nonsense, there's no obediance there by faith in Christ, the emphasis is on what YOU DO.

So a person stands in their one and only righteousness for Heaven, faith in Christ. The Spirit has written the good and Holy laws of God on their heart and mind, meaning in their heart they want to obey. But they don't crucify their own flesh, they look to Christ and trust him for the victory. And while this is happening it is evident they are a sinner.
Now many(and on this website) would then say
You are promoting sin, you profess to be saved but are living in sin, you should have crucified your flesh etc, etc, etc. Hence Paul's words.

He confirms this in the next sentance
Absolutely not! If i rebuild what I destroyed I prove that I am a lawbreaker
What has Paul been trying to destroy?
A righteousness/acceptability before God of law keeping

In other words he is saying, that if you try and rid youreself of the sin to be acceptable to God(has to be according to law, and what some on this website stress) you will fail, and simply prove you are a lawbreaker. Your acceptablility before God, is faith in Christ, and it is that faith that will be seen to give you victory, not attempted lawkeeping
This directly opposes the views of some on this thread.
For they say acceptability comes from crucifying the flesh, and making your heart pure, which has to be according to law. Paul says, you cannot succeed according to law, all you will do is be proven to be a lawbreaker, in other words you will fail.

The Pharisees quoted much scripture to Christ to find fault with him, but though they could quote reams of scripture they didn't understand the message
They also crushed people with demands they themselves did not even try to keep
Sound familiar?

They leave out a very big part and that is the sins we are unaware of. Those things we have not yet been convicted of and we need to learn to quit.

Leviticus Chapters 4,5 and 6 all talk about it along with Numbers Chapter 15. These were unknown until someone was confronted about them. They didn't know they were sinning.

And what did Jesus say about the Pharisees

Matthew 23

23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: [SUP]2 [/SUP]“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. [SUP]3 [/SUP]So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.[SUP]4 [/SUP]They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries[SUP][a][/SUP] wide and the tassels on their garmentslong; [SUP]6 [/SUP]they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; [SUP]7 [/SUP]they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. [SUP]9 [/SUP]And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.[SUP]10 [/SUP]Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. [SUP]11 [/SUP]The greatest among you will be your servant. [SUP]12 [/SUP]For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
[h=3]Seven Woes on the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees[/h][SUP]13 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. [SUP][14] [/SUP][SUP][b][/SUP]
[SUP]15 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]“Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ [SUP]17 [/SUP]You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?[SUP]18 [/SUP]You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ [SUP]19 [/SUP]You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? [SUP]20 [/SUP]Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. [SUP]21 [/SUP]And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. [SUP]22 [/SUP]And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. [SUP]24 [/SUP]You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. [SUP]26 [/SUP]Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. [SUP]28 [/SUP]In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. [SUP]30 [/SUP]And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ [SUP]31 [/SUP]So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. [SUP]32 [/SUP]Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!
[SUP]33 [/SUP]“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? [SUP]34 [/SUP]Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify;others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. [SUP]35 [/SUP]And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abelto the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. [SUP]36 [/SUP]Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.
[SUP]37 [/SUP]“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. [SUP]38 [/SUP]Look, your house is left to you desolate. [SUP]39 [/SUP]For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[SUP][c][/SUP]

Seven Woes on the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees

[SUP]13 [/SUP]“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.[SUP][14] [/SUP][SUP][b][/SUP]
Yes, the people Christ reserved his harshest criticism for were religious people who crushed others with demnds they themselves did not even try to keep.
And of course they could not believe because they loved the praise of man more than the praise of God.

The problem often with just writing out doctrine, is that it can come accross as a manual that must be perfectly, almost robotically followed, or you are in danger of being cast out. However, we are in bodies of weak flesh, and often take two steps forward and one step back, though we grieve over our fallibilities before God.

The Pharisees never understood the heart of the Gospel, only the letter, and the letter kills but the Spirit gives life
King David did understand the heart, and he knew his bottom line
I trust in God's unfailing love
That is the bottom line of every Christian, those who don't accpt it, but prefer a bottom line of their own personal goodness according to their strivings and effort, do not understand the heart of scripture, and are in denial-to put it politely

The so called
Manuals are " individual" recordings of
"people" whom had a "personal" relationship with Christ ... I keep wondering why everyone continues to try to duplicate someone else's relationship thousands of years ago... When each and every
One of us could write our own story "just as they did" about "our very own" relationship with God , in Christ ...

It is
By "our testimony", what Christ is doing "in us" others come to know Him better....

Stop shoving someone else's relationship with him down my throat ... ( think about this)
tell Me about the regeneration of "your relationship with Him" in this area... this is what I want to know ....

Not trying to be rude or disrespectful ... trying to get the body of Christ to "think"

If you feel anyone is shoving anything down your throat, I would suggest you put them on ignore, that would seem the most sensible thing to me
If you want to hear testimonies, I think it would probably be a good idea to start a specific thread asking for them

I am sure you are not being disrespectful or rude
God Bless
