Physical day:
Gen_1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Spiritual day:
2Pe_3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Here's an exercise in rightly dividing the word. What kind of day is Gen_2:17 talking about?

Gen_2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Here's a KJV bonus physical/spiritual bonus word. You won't find this phrase "afar off" in other translations and the only reason I bring it up is because it ties in with one day is a thousand years.

Gen_22:4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

Physical:
On the third day (24 hour days) Abraham saw the mountain afar off (from a great distance).

Spiritual:
On the third spiritual day (3000 years) Abraham saw the mountain, Mount Calvary afar off (great distance in time).

Don't believe it? Jesus said Abraham saw his day.

Joh 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

I'm telling you guys if we just believe God's word he will show us great and mighty things.

You are not rightly dividing you are stating allegorical interpretation, which is very dangerous. Types and shadows are being discounted by many in the Body, because there is no containment on them and invariably it turns into pure allegory. There are types and shadows of Jesus everywhere in the Bible, but I have seen one particualr main line ministry who base their entire ministry on the cross and him crucified take solid types and shadows and point them to the cross and it just does not fit.

Paul warned the Colossians allegorical interpretation, the worship of angels, and gnostic doctrine. Allegory leads to gnostic beliefs. I think we ae better to say the prophecies of Jesus Christ and then Jesus Christ fulfilling the prophecy.

YOu need to study 1 Cor 2 and let it burn into your spirit, stop spreading the doctrine of gnostic allegory.

Oh there is containment in them. The containment is rightly dividing between spiritual and physical.
So what do you say, was Abraham carried forward in time in the spirit to see Jesus' day? If not why did Jesus say that he was?

Joh 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day:
and he saw it, and was glad.

It is hard to realize how some one could not believe a third temple will be built.
No I do believe there will be a temple in the millennium. But it will be a temple made without hands. The millennial temple is the body of Christ. This is the temple Ezekiel is talking about. The verses below are the building materials of Ezekiel's temple.

1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Rev_3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

To KJV1611, The-highwayman has rightly said you allegorize too much, destroying God's word. And, Jesus said "Abraham "saw My day" past tense, Abraham never saw the ministry or the death of Christ in 33ad??. You will very surprised when Israel soon rebuilds the temple. I believe Jesus will have a temple on Mt. Zion during His soon earthly rule. All the world will come to worship Jesus in the church building on the Mt. of Zion, in Jerusalem, for 1,000yrs. Love to all, Hoffco

The problem with waiting for some building to be built is the bible specifically saying THAT GOD DOES NOT DWELL IN BUILDINGS MADE WITH HUMAN HANDS, AND THAT OUR BODIES ARE THE TRUE TEMPLE.

So this temple is NOT a building but God's people being united. That is the temple. True Jerusalem is not some small piece of land in another country but the peace of the entire world.

Hoffco the bible is pretty clear about days, there is an earthly 24 hour day and there's a spiritual 1000 year day. Do you agree?

You have rightly divided the truth Flamingspirit. You recognized that there are two types of temples and you also recognize that "GOD DOES NOT DWELL IN BUILDINGS MADE WITH HUMAN HANDS, AND THAT OUR BODIES ARE THE TRUE TEMPLE", hence the context has to be a spiritual temple. That's exactly how rightly dividing works. If everyone would do that there wouldn't be nearly as many arguments.

It is the same with our days. That being said, Man was given 6000 years (6 days) to do his work. The TRUE Sabbath is to come, and everlasting rest.

When we rightly divide, we don't have to make up stories like "Adam died spiritually". Adam didn't die spiritually, he died in the day he ate of the fruit. Adam lived 932 years, he died in the day (1000 years) he ate.

Yes i believe the Bible has a literal 24hr day(s) and a spiritual 1,000 yr. day(s). BUT, You and Flamingspirit Make too many 24hr. days in to 1,000 yrs. Gen. 2:7 and Gen. 22:4 are both 24hrs. only. The dead, even in Christ, in Heaven, do not see the earth. We are not visible to the Perfect spirits of men in Heaven, This is my opinion. And Mary does not hear our prays on earth. She may be praying for us, in a general way. OR, if I use my holy imagination, I might ever say that God give the Saints in heaven, facts on earth to pray for, maybe even our names. But , I don't think they watch us. ???? Love to all, Hoffco

What do make of this Hoffco? Did Abraham see Jesus' day? If so how?

Joh 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

YES, Abraham saw the day of Jesus Christ. In Gen. , Abraham saw the Pre-incarnate SON of GOD in the form of a man. It is called a Theophany. The eternal SON of God took a human form and with two angels He visited Abraham . THus, Abraham saw the day of Jesus. Remember ,Jesus is the eternal "I am". He is Jehovah, GOD. You must keep Jh. 8:58 in context. Love to all, Hoffco

Fair enough. I see your point but I don't agree that that was Jesus's day, but your point is well taken.

Which temple do you guys think this is, spiritual or earthly? Why?

2Th_2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

I don't think that he promoting "KJV only" by saying we need to rightly divide the word of Truth. We are to study by rightly dividing the word of truth - but I believe it is more than what he has said - we need to keep in mind when studying that what is said in scripture is "handpicked" by God and is exactly what he wanted to say- to whom he says it, where he says it, when he says it and how he says it.

rightly dividing is the Greek word orthotomounta. Orthos means 'perfectly right' or 'perfectly straight'. Temno means 'to cut'. So orthotomounta literally means 'a perfectly right cutting'.
There's another handpicking, though, that's deadly poisonous, where a certain verse(s) or words are handpicked to build entire false doctrines. Catholicism misinterpreted (though, just my opinion, it was likely intentional, power play by Leo I) Peter being the rock the church is built upon, not Peter's confession of Jesus Christ, that confession which our Lord was referring to as the basis for His church, God the Rock everywhere else in the Bible, and look what we wound up with?! So, rightly dividing the scripture is to see scripture as a whole, Bible interpreting Bible, all important context, handpicking verses also the stuff cults and lies are built upon.

KJV1611, You are working OVERTIME trying to find a TYPE of Christ out of a "MORAL" STANDARD, of the O.T.. In no way does the story point to Christ. A type of Christ in the O.T. is fulfilled by Christ. Christ has nothing in common with a man and a woman having consensual sex and having to get married, by the moral law of Israel. It was consensual so the man was not killed, and the woman agreed to marry him. In my opinion, that is a good "custom" for today. Love to all, Hoffco
Good insight.

Every Law in the Torah does not necessarily point to Christ...

Deu 23:12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
Deu 23:13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:

Simple sanitation law here. Here is another...

Lev 15:16 And if any man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.
Lev 15:17 And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.
Lev 15:18 The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.

These Laws are good Laws and should be practiced today. There would be a lot less illness if they were but they did not point to Christ, they simply told people the best way to conduct their daily affairs.

I love you KJV1611; Especially your trust in the fact that every word of God is preserved and true for our world language today. However, I am gonna have to disagree with your interpretation on Luke 14:26. It is talking about making God (Christ) your first love and in proving that love is true with how you live your life. Sometimes, this would include a believer having to at times leave their unbelieving family at home so as to preach the gospel to all nations and to help those who are less fortunate or sick. It is talking about forsaking all for the cause of Jesup Christ. For he that shall love his life shall lose it, but he that shall hate his life shall save it (not actual hate for one's own being but a hate for one's own selfish or worldly desires). Here the cross references for Luke 14:26, that all say this same thing...........................................Luke 14:26 Cross References (14 Verses)
