Just for those that don't know, sunday was never sabbath, it was put into law by Constantine to change sabbath from saturday to sunday so he could break all connection of christianity from the hebrew people because he wanted to be the god head of christianity. Saturday has and always will be the true Biblical Sabbath of Scripture.

actually saturday had probably been replaced by sunday as the christians' day of worship while the apostle john was still alive...

read what ignatius of antioch has to say about sabbath observance...he was a student of john the apostle...

you would think if abandoning the jewish sabbath was such a big deal then john and his students would have written something against that in their writings...but they didn't...

Rachel, you're ignorance is amazing. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but there is NO historical evidence of your rediculous claim. And it is a historical recorded fact that NO ONE ever kept Sabbath on sunday until Constantine. It's not the jewish Sabbath, it is YHVH's Sabbath whom He is Lord of as Scripture says. Please, get some education, and quite blaspheming YHVH's Word.

IF this is true, then what do you do with Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2? Both of these verses reference the first day of the week (Sunday), not the Sabbath (Saturday).

Oncefallen, Acts 20:7 clearly states that Paul broke bread and CONTINUED his message until midnight. I'm sorry, but what preacher doesn't preach at any given time? Even wednesdays are quite popular. But it doesn't say anything that it's a Sabbath.

1Cor.16:2 talks about collections, because they didn't gather things together on Sabbath, because it was considered working.

Abiding, name calling would be if I said you're retarded, or stupid stuff like that. Calling someone ignorant because they make ignorant claims of scripture they clearly don't know anything about, it is what is. I can sit a have a very nice coversation, but when someone twists scripture to what they believe because they can't handle the truth, then they're ignorant. I've proven all I've said with scripture. Plain and simple. Theres about a handful of people in cc that actual read and study the Bible, the rest of you are on here only to stir up trouble. You're not here to have real Biblical discussions, you're not here to learn anything, you think you have it figured out. I know I don't, I've had someone on here before show me something that I didn't know and thanked them tremendously. So yes, I have no patience with someone who is purposefully ignorant.

you must have a hard time living with yourself.

ever read that Patience is a Fruit of the Holy Spirit?

2 Timothy 2:24-26
New King James Version (NKJV)
24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

AnandaHya, I gave you a challenge that you clearly aren't going to take me up on. You're a little girl who has alot to learn. You can bark and say whatever else you want, I'm done with my conversations with you. If you decide to back up your words and prove what you said, then I'll be interested to speak some more. Shalom

yeah what a condescending cop out.

the scriptures are quite clear on the matter unless you have some preconceived notion that those passages talk about Revelation 20 instead of actually speaking about Revelation 21.

Acts 20:7-11
(7) And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
(8) And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
(9) And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
(10) And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
(11) When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.

Do you know that in the Bible the day starts at sunset, so at night on the first day of the week would have been Saturday night and they left early Sunday morning they didn't stay to worship on Sunday morning. So they would have had worship on Sabbath and it continued into Saturday night and left Sunday morning.

"If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death--whom some deny, by which mystery we have obtained faith, and therefore endure, that we may be found the disciples of Jesus Christ, our only Master--how shall we be able to live apart from Him, whose disciples the prophets themselves in the Spirit did wait for Him as their Teacher?"

that was written by ignatius of antioch...a student of the apostle john...in his letter to the magnesian church...

ignatius lived from about AD 30 to around AD 107...so his letter was most likely written in the late first century...probably while john was still alive...

so there is your proof that christians had already replaced saturday with sunday as early as the first century...over 200 years before constantine...

also you are spelling YHWH wrong...

Rachel, keeping the Sabbath is all over the NT, if this guy really said this, than He is a false teacher and will be gravely judged by YHVH for saying that there is no longer the observance of Sabbath. as for the Lord's Day, that is the day Yeshua returns at the end of tribulation. This is probably why this guy has no place in scripture because his writings are contrary to scripture.
I'm sorry that is not proof that Sabbath was changed from sat. to sun. Because the NT proves otherwise. Here are a few NT, verses on Sabbath,

Matt 12:12 Mark1:21, Mark 15:42, Luke 4:16, Luke 4:31, Luke 13:10, Luke 23:56( this one really proves, that the Sabbath commandment didn't go anywhere, nor was changed) Acts 13:42, Acts 15:21, Acts 17:2, Acts 18:4, I hope you take the time to truly read each one.

Rachel, I'm sorry but I speak, read and write hebrew. It is YHVH, hebrew letters yod, hey, vav, hey. The only way you can have a w in a hebrew word is with two vav's. Shalom

yea a scavenger hunt.. (just posting this for those who don't have easy access to a Bible)

Matthew 12:12
New King James Version (NKJV)
12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

Mark 1:21
21 Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught.

Mark 15:42
42 Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath

Luke 4:16
16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

Luke 4:31
31 Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths.

Luke 13:10
10 Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.

Luke 23:56
56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

Acts 13:42
42 So when the Jews went out of the synagogue,[a] the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.

Acts 15:21
New King James Version (NKJV)
21 For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Acts 17:2
New King James Version (NKJV)
2 Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

Acts 18:4
New King James Version (NKJV)
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.

..... ok you got verses of people preaching to a large crowd of people whose minds are suppose to be focused on hearing and obeying God's word on the Sabbath, but that is not the only time Jesus and the disciples preached to the masses. Its like saying on Monday people returned to work. the Sabbath is a time holder. here are verses that show that Jesus and Paul did the same things they did on the Sabbath as they did every other day of the week as well:

Acts 17
16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols. 17 Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshipers, and in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there.

Scripture shows that JESUS did not keep the Sabbath as the Pharisees and Jewish priest thought He was suppose to keep it.

let us look at the commandments of Moses concerning the Sabbath...

Exodus 31

12 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 13 “Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. 14 You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16 Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’”

so why did the priests say this about Jesus?

John 9:16
Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.

OK. So let's follow Jesus' example and keep the sabbath the way He kept it?

AnandaHya, The reason why the pharisees had an issue with how Yeshua kept Sabbath, was because He didn't do it the way they taught it through the talmud & mishna. They didn't keep talmud the way YHVH commanded in scripture either. You're trying to find scripture to disprove scripture, that's not going to work, otherwise that makes the Bible a liar and we are wasting our time. I noticed you didn't have anything to say about, LUKE 23:56. I only takes one. Look, the Sabbath has gone no where, so it boils down to whether or not you're going to obey the Father or not. People can make up all the excuses, and twist the scripture or whatever they want, so things will fit their agenda, but YHVH is not stupid and you will give an account. It was nice talking with you, sorry I was so harsh on you a couple days ago. Shalom
